Gonna be the worst anthem ever made. I WILL BET 1000 EURO the gonna be like this. A intro kick after 30-40 sec with no power at all, a soft soft soft raw kick or the same intro kick all producers make there sounds 30 procent done. The same climax there is in all tracks, with the same kind of melody we listen to in all tracks This gonna be the same fast sample track. It's clear that Ran-D wanted to make something more modern but honestly I miss a mid-intro so badly. This is a good track but the tempo change and the formula is not for me (and imo not for Qlimax either).(It almost feels like he mixed his Defqon1 anthem with the G4H Qlimax anthem and added a little hurricane.
As a Ran-D track it sounds good. Typical Ran-D stuff. But as a qlimax anthem this really sucks. I get that music is evolving and stuff but i remember the time when mystery and darkness was the main theme of qlimax... Nowadays it really feels like they just had a track somewhere hidden between folders and just paste the qlimax voice in between (ofcourse, this is not true, keep that in mind) TLDR; Good track but not feeling 'qlimax' in it

The creation is nice, for an hardstyle track, but not for the Qlimax anthem. I miss the sound from anthems like The Nature of our Mind, Fate or Fortune or Temple of Light.
I really like the vibe/atmosphere in the breaks. The vocals fit very well with that vibe imo. But I really think that the melody is too ‘normal’.. I don’t think it’s very anthem-like. The kicks are great tho! But I think this track would’ve been better as a normal single release and not an anthem.
In my opinion Ran-D’s style doesn’t fit the dark, mysterious vibe that Qlimax has. It sounds too much like ‘Hurricane’ with a flavor of G4H. And his latest tracks all sounds the same to me
I agree, and that's interesting because if we go back 10 years then Ran-D made tracks that absolutely blew the roof off any venue. Tracks like "Say Yeah" are among my all time favorites. What an underground banger!
I’d say it’s his signature sound. I personally have no problem when artists have a signature sound/formula that stands out from other artists. I wouldn’t say that all of Ran-D’s newer songs sound the same, but they all definitely have his signature sounds
@Beau Its a double edged sword... a signature sound is fine but if it results in a 3 years of discography where every track just more or less sounds the same i start to think man ... that dude stoped beeing artist trying to push boundaries and became a business man living the credo "never change a running system". Ofc thats fine aswell but id rather listen to artists which develop their signature sound with every release.
My honest thoughts on the Anthem. I like the kicks and that energy is just incredible. The vocals seem like they are really rushed and it’s really hard to tell what’s being sung a lot of the time, it might be the audio mixing but I’m not sure. The singing itself is pretty good though but it feels like it shouldn’t fit in a Qlimax anthem. The melody doesn’t quite fit either and there is not really a big break that allows the song to breath and really take that time to show off the darkness and mysterious feel Qlimax is best known for. My favorite modern anthem for Qlimax would have to be B-front - Symphony of Shadows for just the amount of Darkness and mysterious vibes it brings while still being an absolute BANGER. This one just feels like a regular Ran-D song with the word “Qlimax” pasted on. It would make a great Anthem for other festivals but for Qlimax...not so much. Production and sound design is god tier, but I don’t think it fits in with the Qlimax scene.
I can definitely agree on most of this, in my opinion Charlotte’s singing suits the theme for this year quite well. The melody does suit the song’s energy level. I have high expectations for the anthem show this year, I would love to see Charlotte do live singing. I think that would give the Qlimax feeling a bit more of an extension. And it would give me the goosebumps I expect from Qlimax. :D
Fully agree, Ran D have unique talent, he created great song once more, but not for Qlimax anthem.... There is so many young producers who could creat anthem, similar to Qlimax experience from Mr Bob....
I will say one thing I’m excited about: the insane performance with the light-show and crowd control! Even if this isn’t a spectacular Qlimax Anthem I’m gonna be tripping balls with the energy we are about to witness in about a month!
Qlimax is well known for being a ritual event. The anthems used to give you chills due to their mysterious and dark atmosphere. Idk why we can’t have this kind of anthems anymore, not that I don’t like the anthem of this year but I mean… the last time I heard a well deserved QL anthem was from Zatox (I LOVE BFRONTS ANTHEM THO BUT ZATOX WAS MORE FITTING). BRING BACK THE REAL QLIMAX ATMOSPHERE PLZ 🥲. Btw, well done Ran-D, nice track! :)

Rating from 0 to 10? For me 5... It is not ugly but not beautiful either but it has nothing to do with the Qlimax, it is off topic. The Qlimax has always had a certain darker theme and this Anthem is completely different. I would never say that it is a Qlimax Anthem if not said the word Qlimax while the others understand each other. I had a lot of hopes for this Anthem because we knew that Ran-D would produce it and instead like in 2013 together with adaro it was a flop. the second part seems to me more a suitable Qapital Anthem and not for Qlimax. Even Atmozfears managed to make a beautiful one despite having a more euphoric style, while Ran-D who has a different style that is closer to that of the Qlimax did the exact opposite! I would have expected better from him than from many others as well as the SZP who have their own style have still managed to create a beautiful Anthem by mixing their style with that of Qlimax. Then of course everyone has their own tastes and certainly many will appreciate this Anthem that if it had been a different production would have had its why but like the Anthem of the Qlimax it doesn't fit, it has a style too different from that of the Qlimax and as I said before if it did not pronounce certain words then no one would imagine or find a connection al Qlimax..

This production is superb. Insane amount of well-executed variation and detail. Very captivating - strong theme, passionate, and outstanding vocal performance. I can see in the thread that this is lost on a lot of people who seem to miss the 2000-20012 ear. I just don't see that coming back.
Ran-D is the first producer that got two chances of making an Qlimax anthem… and both are disappointing. At least Gunz For Hire's is a good track despite being an anthem. (Sad to say this because No Guts No Glory and The Hunt are two of my favorite anthems ever)
How is it possible that so few artists over the last years got the actual Qlimax vibe. That dark, mystical feeling. Coone, Wildstylez, Psyko punkz got that. Even back in 2013 as G4H the anthem felt right (in my opinion) so why hasn't it worked this time? Ran-D is a great dj, no doubt about that... but this no. Another disapppointing anthem in a long line. Not just Qlimax, Defqon as well. Such a Shame.
The trailer was so good : dark, mysterious, etc The anthem is not made with Qlimax in the heart. (Like Immortal Essence 🤭) The track is good but doesn’t belong to Qlimax
Hot take: this is the best produced Qlimax track of all time. Seriously, listen closely to the effort Ran-D put in here. Genuine question for Ran-D; how many takes did you have to do to get Charlotte's "THIS IS!" to the right intonation and pitch, because you absolutely nailed it. The people saying this was "rushed" or in some way underproduced are simply listening to a different track than I am. I hear nothing but absolute passion and dedication. Is the truth of Qlimax that we can only have a-melodic ambients, a quick kickroll and then a series of minor chords? Is that what we're reduced to? No growth? No appreciation for people trying to make the very best of their production skills? If this track doesn't fit your personal definition of a Qlimax anthem then... fine. I'm certain I'm not the only one that can hear the incredible artistry and creativity in this track. 100% love this Ran-D, don't let the haters get you down. (but also, next time, maybe surprise the fuck out of them)
I don't get all the hate. I think it's pretty good. I still feel that Qlimax atmosphere and the lyrics really fit the atmosphere of the festival itself. "We are disciples of the night, we'll live on forever. We are disciples of the night, we are the summoners of the unknown." I also miss the older anthems but things evolve as time progresses. But I'd enjoy seeing these kinds of vocals with fitting lyrics along with the style of the older anthems.
Suprisingly disappointing. The singing does not fit the theme (especially Qlimax at all) and the melody is completely random. Compare this anthem with Temple Of Light or Power Of The Mind and you will recognize that Ran-D‘s approach is quite poor. Nevertheless, the 20th November will be one day for the books🙏🏼
Solid Anthem Didn't liked the melody at first but it grows on me. It lacks a little bit of technic and uniqueness too. But the singing part in the beginning is really good and this give it some taste. And for all the haters out there. Stop comparing it with all other anthems out there. We live in the year 2021. Hardstyle has changed a lot. Look around you. Everything changed. To expect every qlimax anthem should sound like in 2009 or 2008 is just absurd. Stop living in the past
Being used to Qlimax anthems. Ran-D did not seem to understand the spirit of Qlimax anthems. This sound reflects an ordinary hardstyle music of his register but at no time do we find the touch of a Qlimax anthem. One thing: disappointed
Not my genre at all but I will follow Charlotte Wessels to hell & back…oh wait, I already have! I’m proud of her for tackling this project with her usual enthusiasm, unmistakable talent & of course beauty!

To tell the truth, I never liked Ran-D as an artist, but he has a few decent tracks, that cannot be overlooked, and therefore I never hated his work. But this approach of the Qlimax hardstyle sound and theme is very bad. The first drop is a generic melody, built from the typical Ran-D stuff. The vocals are very strange, not bad, quite epic, but they don't bring those feelings which I felt while listening to the amazing anthems like: Equilibrium, Power of the Mind, Nature of our Mind, The Prophecy, Alternate Reality, Next Dimensional World, The Source Code of Creation or even the 2020 soundtrack. After 3:08, the track gets better with the rising tempo and a kickshow, but it still doesn't bring what it makes a Qlimax anthem that special song. I'm afraid, this track joins the group of weak qlimax anthems, including Game Changer, Symphony of Shadows, Immortal, The Dark Side, Science & Religion.
I think Symphony of Shadows at least has a decent qlimax feeling in it. A modern version of an anthem, but sure it is a lot different from old classics.
Bro wtf? Symphony of Shadows by B-Front was fitting and it fits the Qlimax vibe perfectly. Sure it's different from others, but B-Front made a dark melody in the climax to make it more suspenseful, dark, and mysterious.

I love the Anthem‘s Ran-D already made! I also expected a huge Qlimax Anthem but I have to say that I really don‘t like the Anthem yet… maybe after listening 4/5 times it‘s better. There really is no Qlimax feeling for me… (just my opinion). Still can‘t wait for qlimax!
Its already available in the q-dance app for dediqated members. Sorry to say, because Ran-D is one of my longtime-favorites, but the anthem is not really good. Dont like this alone standing long singing part in the beginning (Up to 1,5mins) and the melody is really nothing special. No Qlimax feeling at all. All other Ran-D anthems were much better.

I honestly feel like this is a song that I’ve heard one hundred times before. As it was building up on my first time listening, I thought “yeah I can already tell how this is gonna sound, and it’s not gonna be special at all” It’s just so... same-y. Heard it all before. Nothing unique
I love this song. It's sad people don't like it as it doesn't fit "their versions of an anthem". To me, an anthem is an anthem. Whether you like it or not, if it's what they choose, don't bother complaining. This song rocks and I'm glad it was chosen as the next Qlimax Anthem!
No. It doesn't fit the Qlimax vibe. It's supposed to be a ritual event and it's theme is suspenseful, dark, and mysterious. Compare it to The Game Changer by SZP. Listen to those two.
I really like the melody and the vocals. But this is as Ran-D as it gets, hardly stands out from his usual releases. I will admit though, for me its on the upper level of his songs.
I mean its just so directionless and devoid of emotion. Im more confused than anything. The last climax is just all over the place, the intro is an incredibly odd choice for a qlimax anthem and the only decent climax is the first one. Ye i dont know what went wrong here. Doesnt matter, bcuz it will blast through your soul live so im super excited, will be a blast of a party. Have a great qlimax everyone.
I legit wanted something like last year. It was a very cool new concept in this scene. This is...i don't care if a anthem has a spooky and dark vibe or not, but this is not good. Ran-D is using the same fucking kick and leads he used even in the Defqon.1 Anthem. After 6 years It becomes more than stale. I hope next year someone take the place of anthem creator and makes something new, like a mix between between Dark Ambient or Dark Synthwave/Outrun and mix it with Hardstyle. Something like SweClubberz, but more dark.

I really like it and I can't really understand why so many people are complaining, although I would have expected it a little bit more dark. It's the way the whole life works.. things evolve over time and so do qlimax anthems. You can definitely hear and feel your commitment in this track❤

imo this is the worst Qlimax anthem yet. Yes it's Ran-D's sound, as that's what defines him, but that's the reason. It's Ran-D's sound. Why not make something unique to tell it apart from all the other stuff. Anthems just aren't special anymore. And for something as huge as Qlimax this is super disappointing

Yes, Qlimax is dark & mysterious, but Qlimax is also epic & glorious and about storytelling with a huge show! And in that way, Ran-D fuckin nailed it. The melody has some kind of heroic vibes in it and the singing part could fit into a musical. And yes, the B-Front Anthem was absolutly great and fitted perfectly, but it is B-Front. Almost every track of him has kind of qlimax potential. And music is evolving, so is Qlimax. Qlimax is not what is was in the beginning anymore. So, live with that. This track will unleash its pure energy live at Qlimax and this will be a moment for the books! Well done, Ran-D!

Soooo many underrated artists could have pulled off an amazing anthem this year but it feels like q dance is stuck on the same people for the better part of 5 years. Ran D is fun and all for summer stuff but every song sounds like hurricane and well its not 2018 anymore..
Yep, my low expectations were the right expectations from the beginning. Probably the most boring and unmemorable melody of any Qlimax anthem, even The Game Changer is better. The hardcore drop is useless and ruins everything even more. As a standalone Ran-D track it's alright at most, but not as a Qlimax anthem. Sorry, but 2013 repeated again.
Just like with Immortal I think he just tried too hard. More classic dark atmosphere would have been nice. Wildstylez showed 2017 that you can also deliver a legendary Qlimax anthem nowadays. This ist an ok track but not more :/
Really cool to see 2 different artists from different areas joined together in the next chapter of Qlimax, been following Charlotte for years from her time in Delain. Also following the hardstyle scene and Ran-D for years too! Aboslutely epic!
Comparing this and "The Game Changer" i'm 100% sure that TGC is better than this anthem. I expect everything but not this, the song is good but honestly, i don't feel that this is an anthem, especially for Qlimax. The only thing i liked here is outro-drop, didn't expect it here.
