RAN INTO THE LANDOWNER!!! |Exploring a New Creek!

Went exploring in a new creek and found a big hole with alot of big smallmouth bass but they just were not wanting to bite very well for me.
managed to pull out one and then some smaller fish up stream before heading back to the truck and running into the LANDOWNER!

we have a place near springfield thats just the same. new landowner got sick of crackheads using the river as access. cause the last land owner didnt care.

You can prolly see what I do for a living by my name. As long as you stay in the banks of the stream your actually completely legal to travel within the stream in the state of Missouri.

I would Call the agent in that county. As long as you stay within the normal overland flow of the channel you are good to go.

Missouri doesn’t have a law regarding the use but rather a interpretation of the federal law regarding navigable waters. There is case law that states navigable streams can be used for recreation including fishing and travel. They are considered a highway.

I thought the stream had to be considered navigable for that to apply.

Yeah, he was cool. We have land out in Crawford county, and we have MAJOR problems with meth heads out there. But in that scenario, if you guys were just fishing/having a good time, not trashing the place, or keeping a bunch of fish, I wouldn't give you guys any trouble. As it should be...

Yea but I do get it..... I mean if I park there and fish then the tweakers then think it’s cool to hangout and trash the place. Just sucks and wish it was different..... 95% of the people I run into are cool with it and don’t mind a lonely fisherman but it is what it is....

@@ChumBoysOutdoors Well, I can tell you this from experience... Tweakers don't show up in broad daylight. Sure, you get some hillbillies under a bridge, but the druggies do their stuff at night when they think no one is around. I can tell you some stories, lol. Anyway, that's a big reason why I'd know the difference.

I can totally appreciate that land owner’s feelings of having strangers making themselves at home on his property. Many of which don’t respect it. Definitely ruins it for hardworking sportsmen like you and your viewers. No one appreciates a beautiful stretch of smallmouth water like we do, not even the landowners themselves. That’s a big reason I bought a kayak, just to access some good waters. Thoroughly enjoy your videos buddy!
