Ran and Miyuara...they are the future of Japanese team

Monza did an evaluation today of the conditions of Ran Takahashi and Stephen Maar after the exhausting 5-Sets matches against Sporting CP for the First Leg of CEV Challenger’s Cup and Piacenza (Superlega). The team had to fly to Portugal for the match agaisnt Sporting CP (Nov.23), their flight back to Italy got delayed for a day so the team didn’t have much training time for their match against Piacenza (Nov.26). Luckily, they won in both matches BUT in a painstakingly 5-Sets matches for both games. The result came out that Ran had a minor muscle injury and needs to rest for 8-10 days. So he will be in the bench on the matches against Sporting CP on Nov.29 for the Second Leg (it’s a home game so Monza will not fly to Portugal) and Milano (Yuki Ishikawa’s Team) on Dec.4, the anticipated face-off match agaisnt Yuki and Ran will be put on hold for the moment because Ran’s health should be the top priority right now. The fatigue is now kicking in, after the successful Team Japan’s OQT, Ran directly flew to Italy for the Superlega 23/24. Ran did not even catch a breather after arriving in Italy and goes directly to training. It’s his 3rd consecutive season in Superlega but it’s his first season in Monza, his new team. He still needs to establish a connection with the team esp with their setter, Cachopa. So he is constantly in training. Also adjusting to a new team & new environment can be quiet stressful too. I hope Ran will take a good rest, heal and recovers fast. Superlega has just started and there’s still a long way to go and more matches to come with physicality involved. Knowing Ran, he likes to give it his all in every game, so I’m praying for his full recovery and a ‘no more injury’ Superlega season.

For those who don’t know monza has to fly to portugal for CEV game just 3 days ago and then they had a delayed flight, some players have flu symptoms, fatigue, lack of time practice (they arrived in the italy at the day of the match) but still monza manage to won this game against piacenza, just wow 🤯 Im also really scared now as their bench is not that deep starting six starting to feel fatigue (director of monza said that ran and maar need to be indepth test tomorrow) I hope ran and maar will have a good rest but I doubt because they still have another cev game this thursday and a game with milano on saturday, also Ran scoring 21 pts in the cev game and here in piacenza match 17 pts 😭 hope he will not be worn out through the season
