Rana has a passion for supporting and empowering moms in her community. When she and her husband (both Jordanian) decided to start a family in the United States nearly a decade ago, she realized that she needed her own little village of support. Now, she is the Youth and Family Services Director at the Brentwood Family Y and helps to give other moms space to recharge.
“It gives me a different lens to look at the people’s needs and how I can serve them at the Y and outside the Y,” she says. “I want to inspire every woman, every lady-the ones who people think are different-that it’s good that we don’t fit the box. It’s good because we have a chance to change it, to change the box to fit everybody.”
