This is a short video of the engine removal on a 2002 model Honda Rancher 350. This is a 2wd ES model. This will be the same process on the newer body style 350 Ranchers as well. This would also be the same process for a 4wd model with exception of having to unbolt and move the front diff forward to remove the front driveshaft. I should have an engine teardown and rebuild video uploaded in the near future.

Only thing I would have done different is hit with the pressure washer first and clean it up.

Great video thanks but is there a trick for putting the exhaust back on, Igor it out easy enough but can’t slide it back in should I remove the engine mount on one side to tilt the motor for more room?

Great video, I’m wondering if I need to work on my ‘06 rancher 350. No smoke and motor runs good but got a knock/noise coming from the lower end of the motor. No notice of reduced power or anything. Is this something i should work on or just ride it til i get smoke or reduced performance.

Question 1. Does your pull starter have to work to get it to top dead center? Second question. The reverse safety.. I got it off it has two brackets and I cant for the life of me remember how it went back on!

Just a question , looks like timing chain jumped time. Is it possible to get access to replace chain n tensioners without removing engine?

When replacing the neutral gear change sensor,is it better/easier to just remove the swingarm to change it or remove the engine?

Mine is a 4x4 version, the pull start cable won't budge one bit and I was really hoping nothing was wrong with the engine. Any advice on how I can fix it?

Take the bolts out of your pull start first and see if the engine will rotate. There's a chance the pull rope is just seized up and you might not have that big of a problem

@@FourwheelerDoctor Got around to it and it turns out that the piston was rusted in there. Everything else seems fine so I'm gonna have to work on that

@@Blacksmokezz Getting the piston pin out is probably going to be the toughest part. I would look at buying one of the aftermarket cylinder kits because I would bet your cylinder is in pretty bad shape.

Hey where does the front break vent / vaccum line go?

It runs up toward the handlebars to a fitting on the frame that it plugs into. You can just run it up to the headlight pod on the handlebars to be safe

@@FourwheelerDoctor So its just a vent and not a vacuum then. Thanks I bought a 350 it was all torn apart and trying to put it all back toghther.

@@fulltacticaltv yes it is just a vent and you want to get it up high enough so it doesn't get any water in it If you happen to splash through a water puddle or cross a creek.
