I’m not good at figuring out what your investment would accrue over the years in terms of interest so I can’t argue that point. If everyone would just go to the SSA website you can actually see how much was collected over their years of employment how much was taken out of their paycheck and how much their employer contributed to Medicare and SS. I don’t know if it is right to call it a Ponzi scheme however. What justifies having a government program that provides benefits to individuals is that there will always be people in the workforce who contribute to the plan. This would continue until there are no longer enough people working and supporting the plan or life ends as we know it. It appears that we are going to have to deal with the first one…

I have a feeling if you gave an average person a month to sit down and analyze spending at the federal level you’d be looking at cutting 20-30% not begging for a 1% cut. If it’s in the Constitution spend money on it, if not don’t spend money on it. At that point we’d probably have 60% spending cuts.
