Randolph punched his wife June in the face and gave her a black eye. He was a spoiled drunken bully who lived on his father's fame. A horrible person.

A fairly accurate portrayal. He was a constant source of grief to WInston. When WSC was very old and sick, towards the end of his long life, and was a guest, with Randolph, of Aristotle Onassis' on his yacht "Christina", Winston so much suffered from his attacks, he begged Onassis to get rid of him, and O. arranged that Randolph go ashore to Athens and interview Paul A', the then king of Greece.

The Wikipedia biography of this poltroon is long and quite entertaining because Randolph seemed to have no clue how bad he was. Could there be another bio that has so many quotes from so many people disparaging the subject? My favorite story about his life is when he gave some hotel workers a hard time in Hong Kong and they trapped him in an elevator, and in escaping he got a brand new sharkskin suit stained with grease. Beautiful justice.

only 3 comments? Randolph was the scum of the earth. He would drink TWO bottles of scotch A DAY. You can see the size of the gambling debt his father paid, the 12,000 pounds in the 1930s, it's much bigger than most of you may think, since Winston Churchill bought a brand new Rolls ROyce in 1930, I believe, for 2,000 pounds!!! SO his gambling debt was equal to the cost of SIX brand new Rolls Royces!

worse than a nobody. Nobodies do not drink two bottles of Scotch a day and impose on their fathers gambling debts, just one of which was worth $3 million in todays $.

that requires some skill. The US stock markets are a far easier solution, and they grow 11% a year on average In my case, when I started working in 1982, the Dow was 800, today it's 40,000.
