Seven men from now (1956) de Budd Boetticher Randolph Scott, Gail Russell y Lee Marvin Guión: Burt Kennedy Joya de la serie B del Western Americano La bonita historia de amor entre Randolph Scott y Gail Russell www.theendfarwe...
This was Gail Russell's famous "come back" film, and it was due to John Wayne keeping his promise to Gail to help her if she ever needed him. Also it was to repay Gail for coming to Wayne's defense in court against adultery charges during his divorce trial in October of 1953. On the first day of location filming of "Seven Men From Now", Gail had not performed before a movie camera in five years, and she had nearly died from an attack of hepatitis,as well as being a recovering alcoholic. She would reach into the pocket of her costume and find a note from a set worker saying,"We're praying for you". She also received congratulatory telegrams from friends and co-workers whom had known her from her glory days at Paramount Studios. For a moment Gail didn't think she could continue filming the first scene, and told the director,Budd Boetticher. Boetticher quickly realized she needed the shock treatment, and suddenly shook her shoulders saying,"Look here! You're not going to louse this thing up!" That seemed to do the trick, and from then on it was smooth sailing. If you would like to know more about Gail Russell,"Hollywood's Hard Luck Girl",Ingraham Spark.com has published my biography of Gail Russell,"Fallen Star". It is now available on AmazonBooks,Ebay,Ebook, and Barnes and Noble Booksellers.
