Sometimes it can be as simple as a lack of counter space but you have plenty of storage elsewhere. Sometimes it’s aesthetic driven. Other times it’s just more cost effective to buy in bulk and decant into a more manageable container size. When I worked retail the thing we all hated most was attractive but annoying packaging. It was impossible to keep some shelves looking neat and of course district managers would stop in, see a mess, and complain. But it’s not our fault if a customer breathes wrong and the whole thing is a mess again! So if you have things that are constantly toppling or don’t stack well it can literally makes your life easier to put things into containers that stack or nest well together. Then there’s the mental illness factor. Some people literally will not feed themselves if they have to break the seal on a package. They can’t pass that hurdle. It’s like they think they should save it, or they’re not worth getting to go first from a new pack. So LOTS of reasons!
I just do it cause as a person who takes care of children for a living I’d rather do that cause it is a bit sturdy and difficult to open so I can assure myself that their pets don’t get a free buffet
It's mainly with things like the juice or milk. It's already in a container. If you want a prettier container at least get one that fits the whole amount. Cause now you are storing 2 containers instead of just 1 in your fridge
I think it also becomes a mindset. If you enjoy the therapeutic qualities of restocking it makes household chores something an individual can look forward to.
We the consumers are paying for the packaging and the product that’s is why every item is priced for both. Just waste of money buying all these plastic containers especially seasoning and kids snacks
Some of the stuff here I can somewhat understand putting into containers, like candies, rice, other things, but the laundry stuff really just confuses me. I know its an esthetic and to be honest I'm sort of a storage addicted person, but..just put the laundry detergent on its side where the pump is facing down so its like a faucet. Also why does no one put stuff that can be recycled into oh I don't know, a RECYCLING BIN!
@@mozelac yeah, I also realized a week ago that Texas gives no fucks about recycling stuff, mostly at Walmarts they have a recycle thing for plastic bags, bubble wrap and plastic bottles. I think super 1 used to accept stuff but they don't for some reason anymore. Also, nice to see another texan
the level of preforming these people do every day is sickening. we get it, you're so amazing organized that you take things in containers and put them into other ones - aka a landfill nightmare. consumerism has made a fool of all of these gluttons lol.
They pour what is left at the bottom of the container into a cup so that it can go on top of the new stuff and be used 1st. because it likely has an expiration date earlier than the stuff they just bought.
@@luna0castaway229 If you are going to be offended by reason, then the internet is not the place for you, take a breath or you’ll give yourself a hernia
i highly, HIGHLY doubt these people bother to even cook with half of what they get, considering their fridge looks like a walmart marketplace by the time they're done -- no room for proper leftovers, not that there were any in there to begin with.
notwithstanding the sheer amount of junk food and snacks they also cram in, don't really need to bother cooking when you can just eat a bunch of snacks all day lol
@@palace8329 no, I just cited an interesting fact, since it’s everyone’s business to wash right away or later. I didn't mean to offend the author or others.
Theyre actually fine no diffrent then them sitting in the sun with little to no dirt im a farmer by the way but it also depends on the type of veggie and most ppl put these in the fridge so its fine
I understand things like flour, rice and pasta that come in bags that are hard to store once opened. But laundry and cleaning products, shampoos, conditioners and milk etc that either come in packaging that is manageable to store or HAS SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SOMEWAYS TOXIC PRODUCTS are no no
Don't understand the point of emptying out soap/pods into a smaller bowl while you refill the container. It's soap. It's not going to go bad like food would. Haha
For me it’s about me being able to open the container. I had to the the tide pods out because I couldn’t get it open. I have everything on a high self above my washer and dryer though
Watching this and realizing these people are psychopaths. They buy containers of stuff just to unload it into other containers for stuff and 90% of the trash isn't even going to end up recycled because the system is broken.
It’s the things like drink cartons going into plastic tubs when actually the drinks could just stand up in the fridge… without the need for the extra plastic. Legitimately confused
I have heard this advice several times but have never got clarification on storage after you freeze it for a few days. Do you just thaw it and then put in an airtight container in the pantry? I was always concerned that would cause moisture issues
