Couple of suggestions for the end of episode point summary: 1- Get a Mic for Director Dan 2- It'd be great to have a quick point by point summary (like: Justin got 1 point from first blood, etc...) as opposed to just the final score board.
Can we go back to the previous overlay? I miss seeing commander damage. Also I'd like to actually see the cards they play. I still don't know how John blew up the Sphere of Annihilation.
I like how they clarified the dumb dungeon ruling AFTER Stephen got to use it illegally with the earthquake. The venture into that room happened when Nadaar attacked, so before damage and before Gnawbones trigger gave him enough treasures to cast it for X=3.
I think pity for Stephen was a real factor in the win. He acted like he wasn't having fun all game and then sneaks it out. I think Jon and Justin should team up on the first episode of next season and put Stephen in last to send a message.
Jeremy was using banding incorrectly for a few attacks this game. Which honestly is fair if you didn't play MtG when it was part of the game. A banding creature can band with a nonbanding creature but you can only have 1 nonbanding creature in the stack each time.
He also missed a Hapatra trigger when his Carnifax Demon ETB’ed. This would have ultimately resulted in two more snakes dying when earthquake wiped the board with Poison Tip Archer out. Stephen wouldn’t have had the life required to equip that equipment (his last two lands were an island and city of brass).
Would it be feasible to have a 4 week long project where each week each player rolls for a colour, then builds a deck with that colour, then the next week they roll for a different colour, and so on until the 4th week where everybody has a 4 coloured deck?
Sadly that earthquake was illegal. The venture needs to be played at exile. So he would not have had the mana for earthquake from combat damage from gnawbone.
Great episode, very funny throughout. In classic stephen fashion, salty about his randomly chosen deck right up to the point of him winning with it, lol. Tough break for Jeremy for the deck he got, and tough for Justin for the way it played out. See y'all next week!
"Any number of attacking creatures with banding can join together with up to one attacking creature without banding" yeah only one creature in the band can be without banding
at 47:00 stephen should have 3 venture triggers, not just nadaar, the angel sees any non-toekn creature entering his field as the creature that stopped etbs was gone
Also, technically Stephan wouldn't have been able to Earthquake, because he used treasure he got from Gnawbone's combat damage based ability, and the Mad Mage cards came off of the Paladin's attack trigger. Perrroooo like... *shrug emoji*
I thin Director Dan should make a deck for the Colliseum of Randomness that only gets put in on the very last spin where there wouldn't be one normally
#teamParnell, maan that mana screw was terrible, the beginning started very promising getting chulane and all ): C*vid Kyle cracked me up xD and watching stephen playing that dungeons deck immaculately was great!
All the games I seen currently, John and Steven are always the last two remaining, and everytime John is so close to winning, but Steven claims victory. So close, yet so far John lol. XD
I think Jonathan missed a Hapatra trigger when Carnifax Demon entered the battlefield. 121.6. Some spells and abilities refer to counters being put on an object. This refers to putting counters on that object while it’s on the battlefield and also to an object that’s given counters as it enters the battlefield
I think it might have mattered, too. He would have had one more snake on the ETB, and then gained an additional snake when he activated Carnifax Demon’s ability. That would have resulted in two more snakes dying when the earthquake/poison tip archer interaction occurred. Instead of Stephen being at 3 life on the last turn, he would have only been at 1. He couldn’t use city of brass or pay the two life to equip without dying.
Best part: like I was a homeless person living on the street and i told you I needed help and you gave me a cardboard box to sleep in” “Well Steven did you have a box before?” “No” “Well sounds like I was benevolent then.”
I remember learning how to play mtg with my uncle's old cards, and I learned the hard way how banding works I'll end up making that banding deck just to annoy people at the gamestore
Is it possible to have someone there that actually keeps the board state correct? Stephen didn't have the mana to cast the earthquake which completely changes the outcome of the game.
Are you seriously not showing the face cam at all when Steven is searching for that 8 drop?? Why even have face cams if we can't see his face during that?
Had Justin just not taken out the craterhoof, this would've been an easy win. Not even replacing it with like and end raze forerunners is such a bummer.
Hi I may be wrong but, at 1:03:23 Jhonath starts an action killing creatures and miss counted the total wrong. He missed out on 2 triggers (1.The dead Carnifex and 2. and counting only one of the two snake tokens missing one of the tokens), making Stephens life total 10 and 1:11:18. (Making a precombat Hooded blightfang or an activated of the bow leathal at 1:18:26.) Great game thow. Keep up the the good work.
Just because the deck box is a specific color doesn't mean the deck that's inside the Box should be that person's deck because let's say I spun and got a Redbox but inside the deck was actually one of the Decks that Steven put in kind of like how we all used to do it with the numbers because that was true random this is just like oh you have a 25% chance of pulling your own deck knowing that it'll be in the specific color
I have a banding deck that works most of the time but first strike only works if they all have it and the same for all abilities like flying, trample, and double strike. So the other Odric is better.
Incorrect, the only time you "loose" the key word is if you band with evasion keyword like flying and not all of them have flying as you can block the non flier. The way the first attack from Jeremy worked is correct you would get to assign the 1 first strike damage from the 2 powered band
Steven next randomness you need to make decks that are five color garbage cards the worst of the worst commander cards. Aka vanilla creatures with all spells with negative effects. That only do nothing like opponent draws cards. Also only put one of each color basic land with the rest of the lands producing colorless mana.
Lying and being wrong are to different things. He may not have specifically searched for 8cmc creatures so he just didn't see those two. Or just over looked the dragons cmc. Lying means he knew for sure there were and said there weren't, being wrong means he forgot or didn't know there was.
@@Dark-Pikachu1 In his deck/Forgotten Realms. Context clues are important. He knows there are 8 mana dragons. There are 12 of them in MtG. None of them come from the Forgotten Realms, which is where every creature in his deck is from.
