As someone with misophonia (the intense hatred and aversion to certain sounds) I really feel for the cruel fate Julia has endured, being someone who gained hearing later in life only to discover they’re a misophoniac. That’s just tragic

Everyone is talking about how terrible Julia's sound was, but it was Jacob's that made me physically uncomfortable. I recoiled. Also, "notebook corduroy" is absolutely the perfect name for that texture.

Like Nathan, I'm disappointed there wasn't visceral and disturbing video footage accompanying those sounds for the reveal. I would have loved to see the dark processes that went into creating them. I too loathe other people's wet mouth sounds when sipping tea or eating pizza, which is a large part of why I eschew all human company.

I know some people who have always had hearing have sound aversions, but I find it fascinating that Julia’s might stem from not hearing as a young child so her brain never learned to filter them out - despite having hearing far longer than not at this point. Brains, especially child brains, are such a mystery box that we can’t always control or even understand.

The sound Julia got is ABSOLUTELY someone blowing into a liquid just at the surface with a thin plastic straw with an accompanying low hum. That triggered such specific memories of blowing bubbles into my hot chocolate drink as a kid I'm 150% certain

So my first impressions with these sounds are as follows: Nathan's: Squeaky sounds accompanied by clicking. I thought of a mouse jumping on a keyboard to send a business email. Determined and adorable. Jacob's: Very fast chaotic energy. Mix between a metallic sound and an animal (?) maybe. An image of a very frustrated, sleep deprived artist scribbling out their 87th attempt at drawing matching eyes. Lots of raw emotion and immediately giving up afterwards. Julia's: Clearly human sound but in a bad way. Sounds like they are gargling but also have a garbage disposal in their throat. Reminds me of the dentist from Little Shop of Horrors. I appreciate Julia's attempt at wiping this image from my mind.

As a fellow former deaf person I also hate wet eating noises. Pasta slurping is actually painful.

I once stumbled upon a sound effect called "Iguana farting in a bathtub" while searching for harmless water sounds. Audio people are weird.

I’m not a former deaf person, but I do have sensory issues. I also hate mouth sounds. But, I REALLY hate when people are talking but I can’t quite hear what they are saying. Basically, I hate whispering and muffled talking

Its been a rough year and life is often hard and depressing. But this channel brings me such joy. The drawfee crew has such a positive energy. Every episode leaves me feeling more at peace, more inspired, and a little happier. Thank you, i love you all.

tell me why when i heard nathan's sound ( 1:40 ), the first thing that came to my mind was the red robot guy named Fender from the Blue Sky Studios 2005 hit film Robots-

Suggestion: take drug names and make the wizards that the drug names sound like. You'd be surprised how many drug names out there sound like fantasy wizards

So the aversion to sound effects that Julia talked about is an actual thing called Misophonia. I had hearing problems when I was younger but not fully deaf but I have the same thing with the sound of people eating and slurping, and almost everybody in my family has some version of Misophonia. It absolutely sucks and I have to leave the room when certain people eat food because it drives me nuts.

That big mirror in the birdber shop has to be frustrating. Every time the birdber tries to show his clients what they look like at the end, they just start going nuts trying to peck their reflections.

A LOT of people at my school used to wear bootleg Tasmanian Devil shirts. There's a few stores in the mall where they sell definitely not licensed tees.
