Random Thunderbolt Highlights - P-47D - IL-2: Great Battles 

You two were amazing, good teamwork, incredible situational awareness, really a pleasure to watch.

I spent a few thousand hours in the Jug in IL-2 FB. "Speed is life, altitude is life insurance" is doubly true in the Jug. But don't underestimate it. I have killed several in one furball much less one flight. Just don't hang around to get your points. Most of my kills got credited to someone else because I would hit them hard and keep moving. Someone else would come in and put a round in them and get the credit. Don't get greedy keep moving. Maintain situational awareness. Don't be afraid to use that big engine and a slight down nose attitude to put distance between you and the enemy. You can always return at your convenience. It doesn't accelerate very well so you have to maintain your speed. Don't turnfight. If you can't get them in a roll or two move on. When strafing stay fast and just high enough so your gun convergence is on the target. 20 degree flaps will let you fly a constant altitude with a slight nose down attitude so you can strafe a train stem to stern, pop your flaps up and firewall it as you look around don't try to climb till you are out of AAA range. Always carry extra ammo. Those 8 guns consume it pretty fast. Carry a quarter tank of gas and a drop tank. When the fight is about to start, drop the tank and you are in an optimal fuel state for the fight.

Awesome: nice to see some good P47 flying. It shows superior skill because in P47 you need to keep on top of engine management even in the heat of battle. Not everyone can manage that even in a virtual world.

I've watched you fly several types. The P47's 8 50 cal appear extremely lethal.

i know it's up to personal preference, but for me the gyro gunsight is only in the way of my aiming=D it's distracting even to watch a video with it lol

Great use of the Jug in the way it was meant to be used. And given that all things IL-2 are on sale (66% off!) until August 29th, I believe, hesitant spectators of this fine channel have one less reason to remain just spectators 😉

Great as always! What convergence do you use for the 47 and do you change the settings for the gunsight to accompany it?

Subbed you as your videos are amazing. I've got to ask, how do you know what to do with fuel mixture and changing prop RPM etc and when to do it for efficiency? I've got this game and have come across from War Thunder Sim so a big step up in complexity but cannot see a tutorial on game... Or am I being blind? Anyway, great content, thanks for sharing!

Great 262 kill! If you are getting BnZ’d in a 262 you are doing something very wrong.

So how do you rate the P47? Would you choose it over a Spit iX? In my ignorance I would assume the Spit can B&Z as well as a Jug but also has the option to turn fight but maybe you don't want to turnfight anyway and feel the greater VNE is more useful.

I noticed you don't interconnect your throttle/rpm/turbo... how do you decide what to individually put them at?

The 262 DM is way too strong.

I really like il2 but I can't play it. My render distance and graphics are too low, I can never spot anyone to save my life.
