I always enjoy going for a ride. Thank you for taking us along in the "front seat". Your narration is outstanding. We all feel your passion. It's not distorted editorials because you are speaking from your heart. Your love of community is evident because you witnessed the slow collapsing of your home town memories. That is the heartbreak of our generation. Conversely, thank you, for your optimism. I too am curious to see how nature and a new perspective from business & people will morph into the new Gary. Stay safe my brother.
I agree - I don't always agree with everything and that's fine. He cares and is speaking from the heart. I tune into these because I've moved to California and when I am home, I do simialr drives, just marveling at how things have changed. Stuff like the Wilco grocery store or that Miller / Gary movie theater are such faded memories I wonder if they are even real. It's reassuring to hear another's stories & memories.
Another great ride around video I really enjoy your channel and I watch it every time it comes on whether it's old or new love you storm good luck to. Your family stay safe
Great video as always, Storm! And great message!!! The people have no pride anymore. When I was growing up there, our neighborhood wasn’t immaculate but we took care of our street. We picked up the trash people dumped (we lived on a dead end). We mowed our lawns. We took pride in keeping Tyler St clean. Now, people think “it’s not my problem”…or… “that’s not my job”… ummm, sorry, it is your problem.. it is your job. That is your community. Take care of it! I think the kids are a lost cause unless the parents lead by example. Gary is such a beautiful city. I hope one day she gets back to her former glory.
Storm one can tell you love Gary, even the way it is, but remembering what it was. It brings back many memories having lived there in the 60s to the 80s. Keep up your good work 😊
I really appreciate that Junie I do love my hometown it’s where all my memories were made. I appreciate you taking the time to leave your comment and I hope to hear more from you soon. Sorry I just now seen this. I do not know how it got lost in the comments I apologize and I appreciate you very much. . 🌸🫵😎💯
Another great Video! The opening part of your video. Reminder me of the Dunes Drive Inn.. Just 50 or 100 yards North of that Truck Stop. There was a very big Auto Salvage yard across from the Dunes Drive Inn on the West side RT51. The big brick building you passed on the left shortly .after the RR tracks. Was a Fire House when I lived there in the mid 60's. I used to run around all over Miller. Thank you.
Immediately I knew you were on Rt. 51. Enjoy seeing Grand Boulevard brings back memories. Lake St. 19:45 the Church on the right was behind where my father lived when he went to Wirt. He Graduated in 1948. Thanks for the ride Storm ⛈.
Hi , just wanted to say after you passed Zayre's up a little ways on the left was a Community and Topps shopping centers. Loved those stores. But they closed way before Zayre's did.
The best way to get more people to move to Gary Ia is to add more jobs . Like a large state prison 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮to add to the growing population 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
