HI, this is a video we got from a family trip in July/ August 1988.
Everyone in Ireland, I'm sure, remembers Mosney in Co. Meath.
Mosney holiday centre was known as the "Land of make believe" and it really was.
In 1988 when we were there the staff created a video for the duration of the week which anyone could buy in the photo shop beside the amusements.
Watching this has brought back many happy memories..
Wish Mosney would open again, but at least the memories will last forever and am so glad I can share this with you all.
Have copied this from an old vhs video, apologies for the quality, I've managed to clean it up as best I can. and some of the audio was corrupted so I've added some new tracks

Ahh thanks for the memories! I miss those days in Ireland. I was there around that time '87, and '88! Treasured memories. Many day trips too into the 90's with friends!

we used to go every year , usually the first week in august , well over a hundred of us most years first and second cousins aunties and uncles etc it was a brilliant holiday destination , fond memories

+Michael Kearney was the best place ever, that's my wee sister winning the bonny baby competition at the start of the video, he'd to believe that Mosney is closed... the fun we used to have there!!!

Well that was depressing. Only got to go once when I was either 7 or 9 years old. Thanks. Wish we kept this holiday camp long enough for me to enjoy it properly as a teenager, get a good part time job, and have a free holiday there but yeah..

Bring money back went there every year as a teenager me and my brother he loved it to soucj fun play all day movies at night so cool I won holiday princess every year

Grandfather knew Shay, God rest him, absolute gent, remember him well. Grandmother got along with Sabina the one who gave out the prizes... very fond memories!! I was Mr mosney a couple years I'm a row Haha!!

The actual place was bigger than you'd think too. I know I was just a kid but it was a sizeable camp.

we use to go every 3rd year back in the 80`s stay for the week, my cousins and my brother use to play on the lake playing pirates

The original music was Popcorn, and the music was all messed it, it was a vhs transfer that had seen better days lol

+Darren Mac I spent many a weekend in caravan and camping.. brilliant memories and. Have a look at my other stuff. It's all photoshop tutorials though. Was gonna try and get a spin to Mosney over the summer and try and weasel my way in to get some video.

Where did that dragon slide in Funtropica World lead to, since it looks like it goes under the pool?

It went under the pool to the swamp experience. It was like a long corridor with stuff hanging from the ceiling and pads on the floor. It was pretty epic back then :) Also I think you had to pay for the swamp experience and if memory serves me it was 50p a go.

@@GladMinds I wonder if anyone still has any brochures of Mosney Holiday Centre? Because I'm eager to aquire one to upload as a slideshow video on RU-vid and as an album on Flickr. That way, I might be able to see if there was any photos of the Swamp Experience below Funtropica Water World....

Ian Henderson it was a video that was made in 1988, it was available to buy from the photo shop.. I think they did that every week that year.. am actually in it a couple of time.
