Thank for all of the suggestions in the last video! I have quite the list laid out for me, but please do feel free to suggest one! You're all handsome af. - C
@@raider5777 Hell, I'll probably buy it tomorrow. I lost my Xbox 360 ages ago and I long to play this game again.. AC Black Flag was my childhood, one of, if not THE best Assassin's Creed game ever.
I understand musical breathing theory....but it was still fun to see all three recordings shoulder sway in the same tempo and directions. Well done Colm!
@@ColmRMcGuinness As a creative myself, I can fully appreciate how unintended results can still enhance the experience of the art form. You do you and keep smiling Colm. Thanks for the inspirations during this harder time.
What I find fascinating is, as a singer, you become hyper aware of the sort of shapes your mouth is making. You can tell which recording is handling which range just by watching his mouth.
@@Shenorai its a bit weird i guess, but by carefully watching how Colm forms certain sounds and effects, i was able to get significantly better at singing
Now you're ready to sail for the Horn Weigh, hey, roll and go! Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn, To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh Heave a pawl, heave away Weigh, hey, roll and go! Okay, okay, so did I relisten to this right after the first time through? and then another time after? Did I sing along (terribly) while making my midmorning coffee? Why yes I did, thank you for asking. I had a thought for another song - it's not a Sea Shanty, but it is a labour song, so spiritually, they're siblings, and it's from a a Canadian Maritime band, Great Big Sea, called The Chemical Worker's Song (Process Man). It has the same vibe as a sea shanty, and it'd be hard to tell it apart from one except for the subject matter, and I think you could really give it the gritty fierceness it deserves (and probably do something super cool with the percussion? Who knows!) -- All of these covers are just making me see the possibilities, going "But what if Colm covered this? What would that be like??" Anyways, I'm done now, congratulations, you live rent-free in my brain.
Why do I find the annunciation here so pleasing? I also love how you can isolate each voice and they sound so amazing both in isolation and supporting the other clones.
Sometimes in AC4 I've spend hours only of traveling with the ship, to listen to this beautiful shantys and you god damn nailed it absolutely.. what an incredible Voice! Please never stop singing, your voice is like peace for my soul 🙏🏻

Any plans to put this and "My Mother Told Me" up on itunes as singles? I keep playing this on repeat like an addict, and I'd love to add it to my ipod/collection.
Raise your hand if your first time hearing Colm was on the sea shanty released on Jonathan Young's channel earlier today, and you immediately went to Colm's page to check out more of his music and wound up here.
I just found this and wow amazing how well you did with just yourself singing. If you playing only the music and singing on a different tab you would never believe that it is only one man doing this. Well done.
I served in the US Navy for 23 years. Some of the worst seas I ever encountered were in the Sea of Japan. 60-80 foot swells at 10-second intervals. Green water breaking over the bow of the carrier and probably 100 ft of deck motion from peak to peak.
It’s not so much a shanty, but a Victorian-eque song from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate - “Underground” by Austin Wintory and Tripod might be a fun one to give the shanty treatment! ps ur handsome
@@Dr.AgonCosplay oh I know! My comment was phrased awkwardly, I meant a song from AC Syndicate called ‘Underground’ might be a fun one to give the shanty treatment, not that Randy Dandy Oh wasn’t a shanty! That’s my bad!
I'm sorry but is no one gonna mention how tf he does that bass voice? It is very rare to me to see someone sing bass that strong, while still being able to do the other parts.
