Guitarist Randy Hansen world renowned Jimi Hendrix Tribute playing for Dean's Birthday bash at Elk Fest. For over thirty years, Hansen has been building a reputation as the foremost Hendrix tribute on Earth.
As a 40+ year Guitarist & IMMENSE Hendrix fan?....Randy is the true blue closest to Hendrix I've ever heard..The man deserves SOOOOOO much more recognition!!!!
I totally agree ! Been into Jimi for 53 years now, afellow guitarist, and Randy does Jimi true justice, thank gawd somebody does. "Oh Janie" damn. Oh well.... I Never feel put off, turned off by Randy's playing of tribute to Jimi. Play on Rando !
I live in the UK and travelled too Europe to see Randy, he is amazing and in a different league to anyone else. The tragedy is, why is he not playing to massive stadiums? he’s that great.
Jimi must be smilin above! His music lives on thru Randy. Randy knew his calling at age 14! He started learning Hendrix tunes at that age! Great tribute Randy, the closest we get to Jimi himself!
There was about 25000 people watching him when he opened up for Richie Blackmore's rainbow At the cow palace, I think around 1980 Maybe 1981? And he tore the roof off the place. And I am Richie Blackmore fanatic.
I hope I don't get the guy in trouble it was over 40 years ago. I was in the front row and I and I could have swore he had shoe Polish on his face. And I wasn't taken any hard drugs.
Agree with your words. Randy helps to keep Jimi’s alive, he makes everything perfect. The vocals, solos, effects, playing with the teeth, everything. A little jealousy for living in Brazil and never get the chance to see him in a concert like this😉
there has yet anyone, in my opinion that does jimi the way randy does....randy has his heart, soul and life into it...and don't forget that he's been doing jimi since the 70's ? the man is outstanding and his band members are outstanding as well ! to the critics out there......they wish they could even touch this.....give credit to randy as he is the real thing........to all jimi fans......hat's off !

Without a doubt the only guitarist who could play Jimi's music with the same God-like feel that the master himself created...seen him 100 times, best nights of my life!!! FIYAH!!!!!!!! haha
Just discovered Randy, I'm blown away that not only does he play exactly like Jimi but his voice sounds so close too! I'd love to see him if he comes to the UK in the future
Ich stand in den 90er bei einem Konzert in Dortmund neben den Boxen und war euphorisiert. Das klingeln verzog sich die Begeisterung blieb - ein virtouser Epigone und Interpret. Long live Randy and his talent.
I remember doing these kinds of birthday gigs in New Hampshire back in the 90s. The man is the best of the true workhorse power rockers; decade after decade and no matter the size of the room, he's there and killing it every goddamn time. Jimi must love this guy like no one else.
@@broadswordvideo Definitely gave me a lift after all these months in lockdown. Brought me back to a much simpler time in my own life. Watched the whole thing and loved it.
I saw Jimi too times 68 at the Hollywood bowl and the la form if he lived he'd be 78 i wonder. What more he could have given us. He was the greatest. w
@@stephencreager2868 He was the greatest innovator and most creative, guitarist ever! But I think Randy puts on a better live show, although I think some Hendrix performances can`t be topped by anyone. Johnny B. Goode @ Berkely is a good example...
this guy is amazing; it's one thing to sound like Hendrix on the guitar but sound like him singing?? And he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. It's a shame the crowd is not larger but it's a great video anyway; destined to be one of my favorites. 👍👍👍
Also, great kudos' to the bassist and drummer for a terrific job on these classic tunes. Randy you picked some terrific partners! Thanks for your great memories and talented musicians!
He is playing Hendrix but is endlessly creative and free as a bird at the same time. First time I saw him my thought was Jimmy himself could see this guy and know what it is like to see it done at his best.. It is real
The Flinstones theme! Jimi would've loved this... Randy Hansen working overtime to spread the Electric Lady Gospel over the Rainbow Bridge! Go Randy go!
he is the best..no one come close to jimmy,,always something missing..but he got the looks..after jimmy a lot of drugs true the years,,for sure the play and def the voice,,so of all ya covers out there ransy is da man
Met him outside of Seattle at a gig took the time after the show to hang with people and chat super nice guy no Aires and as far as his abilities carries the torch so well outstanding would/will fly 1800 miles to see him again anytime
Mucho Respect out to The Randy Hansen Band and their TRIBUTE to all that is GOOD...Jimi never left US, as WE can see and hear...I can remember then, and Live in the Now...Warren (22)
Randy hope you will doing it for many years ahead!! I love you really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please if it will be possible in the future to come to Greece this will be maybe my most amazing experience ever!!
52 years later. We honor the best of the best and going strong. Much love from Chiraq. We Love JMH FOREVER. Randy As well. Happy birthday and Outstanding Show.
He doesn't give a damn about these lawnchair jockeys. They only get off him playing the "Flinstones" but his pure joy in channeling Jimi is way beyond them who haven't been EXPERIENCED.
@@broadswordvideo Will be seeing him September 25th at Blue Frog Studios White Rock BC. After two cancellations, the first time he had appendicitis, and the second cancelled due to Covid gatherings.
Awesome sound and video, especially given it is in the middle of a field! Thank you for posting. Would have been unreal to be in that crowd, no pushing, shoving and just awesome Marshall Plexi rock by the best "Jimi" at a decent volume! :)
Ha...the Flintstones at 3:20....awesome. Randy played a gig for us at his house....unreal, great time with this kickass player. Thanks for posting this buddy. Hope to see Randy and the boys again soon!
I've loved Hendrix for years, though I have to admit that Randy does some better versions of Hendrix's songs than Hendrix did. e.g. Machine Gun. What a guitarist!
I DON'T GIVE A HOOK OR A HOLLA WHAT ANYBODY SAYS.JIMI HENDRIX HAS CAME BACK IN THE FORM OF RANDY HANSEN.AND YOU THOUGHT JIMI WAS GOING LEAVE US THAT EASY.HIS SPIRIT LIVES ON IN RANDY.
Its as though the Gods sent and Oracle to bring us a message and also sent a messenger to make sure the ocracle's message would survive if the oracale died. Amazing. Its like Jimi incarnate.
Audience so so LAME and uninvolved. They are witnessing at a minimum tens of thousands of hours of practicing and some great phrase to phrase improv on a solid base of Hendrix legacy. The showmanship is OK but not really needed: let the music speak.
