That audience DID understand they were at a COMEDY festival right? Maybe they were there to attend a foreign investments symposium and wandered into the wrong auditorium. Anyway, my son and daughter went to see Randy a few months ago in Perth. They said the show was incredible and the audience was in hysterics. Afterwards, he stayed in the foyer for hours taking pictures with fans and signing autographs. He asked my daughter what she wanted him to write on the back of her photo and she wound up with "Blueberries aren't blue, they're FUCKING PURPLE!! Love Randy". An unforgettable experience.

I mean it seems most people didn't find it that funny, and to be real it wasn't hilarious it was entertaining, the scraping of the oatmeal got the best laugh out of me and I'm not a stranger to laughing my ass off watching good comedy show by myself (since I know some people are very hard to make laugh if they are alone).

The other thing is that he's the warm up comic here, he's the one that is supposed to get the first laugh and make everyone else's job easier (read: possible). That's also why he dips back into the "randomly shout city name" bag. On that account he does a spectacular job here.

I'm not sure if I just wasn't hearing it accurately or if the crowd was really being the kind of humorless twats it sounded like they were...but this guy deserved far better a reception than this. It takes a lot of guts and a lot of talent to make a successful go at stand up comedy (or shall I say kneel down in this case) with a puppet these days. Randy knocks it outta the park every time.
