Mount Tolmie is named after Dr. William Fraser Tolmie, a biologist and prominent member of the community in the 1860's. The park has panoramic views of Saanich and Victoria. Across the water, you can see the Olympic Mountain Range and Mount Baker in the Cascades.
Mount Tolmie, elevation 120 m (394 ft), is a hill and surrounding neighbourhood in Saanich, Greater Victoria, British Columbia.
Located near the University of Victoria, Mount Tolmie is easily accessible and has a 360-degree view of Victoria from the top. Driving up the windy Mayfair Drive takes you past several parking areas, including some right at the top of the mountain. There are gravel trails that start from the bottom and also loop around the mountain park area, exploring the giant concrete slab near the top and passing several picnic areas with viewpoints.
There are more than 1,500 metres of trails within the park. Many lead to the summit, through meadows and up rocky slopes. They access:

• Secluded natural areas
• Great spots for bird watching and quiet contemplation
