Veteran contemporary Christian music artist Randy Stonehill joins us for Cornerstone's Living Room Concert Series. In this intimate setting, artists share the songs and stories as they play some of their most loved work. #LCS1405
In a world where the most popular music promotes destruction and degeneracy it’s amazing that musicians like this exist, love this guys energy. God be with him .
I came to the Lord in 1980. It has not been an easy or smooth road, but the songs of musicians like Greene and Stonehill put a little skip in my steps!
WoW, just had his LP playing in my man cave, I saw him in Melbourne and he signed my LP back stage. Min concert he paused and announced that His friend, Keith Green passed away with his kids in a plane crash, If I remember correctly. Randy was so listenable , a story teller too.and a lover of Jesus.
I was saved at Calvary Downey, CA in 1977. I just left a world in which Led Zeppelin and many others were the soundtrack in my head always. Once saved, Keith Green was my first collision into Christian worship. I couldn’t believe it. Randy Stonehill, Bob Ayala, Bob Bennett, Phil Keaggy, Second Chapter of Acts and others filled my soul with indescribable praise. Today’s ‘Contemporary’ Christian music leaves me flat.
Thank you, Randy, for writing Shut De Do! Surprisingly to me, I got the solo in my APU choir in 1985. It did so much for my life and confidence! I wish I could still sing like that! It’s wonderful to hear your beautiful voice still shines! You inspire me.
One of the nicest songs of contemporary worship there is :) I was fortunate enough to see Randy Stonehill give a concert in the home of a friend of mine :)
I was able to hear Randy sing in Redding, CA some time ago. Thanks for being faithful to the calling of God and for persevering through all the well meaning critics of the past. May Spirit continue to bless your ministry to the world.
40 some odd years ago I was a young college student. I gave Welcome To Paradise to my new GF's younger "straying" brother. He put it with his records but slid it to the extreme side away from the other rock records because (as he said it) "I didn't want it to convert my other zepplin and other band records." hahahaha. Best response ever.
the story and song about Billy Graham was a blessing ... I was hoping to hear my favorite Randy Stonehill song - A Christmas Song for all Year - He is such a wonderful and unique guitarist - love to hear him play - he is so talented to be able to play that intricate way and sing at the same time. Randy I hope to meet you in heaven and maybe you can teach me a lick or two on the guitar.
I'm going to see "Uncle Rand" for the second time. The first was only a couple of years ago in Paramus, New Jersey. Tonight, he will be in-concert at a church in West Cape May, New Jersey. Ready for a blessing!
The Billy Frank story was very touching. Randy has a story as well. I became a fan of his music in the 70s. Music is a huge part of young people's lives, and songs that point to Jesus are instrumental.
My 'Rachel Delavoryas' was Charlene. Though I never joined with the chorus of pain that so many brought her way, one day my omission in fact added immensely. As with Randy's song, this too was the 5th or 6th grade. I had inadvertently stepped onto some dog crap only minutes prior to arriving at school one day. Quickly I attempted to rid my shoe of any evidence. Thinking I had done such, I walked into class. Sitting in my chair, next to Charlene, I immediately realized that I was mistaken. Slowly our classmates began to sniff and say, "What is that smell"? Looking toward Charlene, each began to point, snicker and comment ~ "You stink"! Charlene, bigger than any of us boys, perhaps twice her average weight, with a large head and hair similar to Rachel's, sunk her head shamefully down. And I ~~ I said nothing. Deep emotion of regret swell up now & EVERY time I think of that moment. Charlene, I'm sooooo VERY sorry! Father, thank You that I've long since learned the value of speaking up for the vulnerable. Might we all have ~ might we all teach our children, our grandchildren, to be bold. To be the voice for the {Rachel's} ~~ for the {Charlene's} in our world. Might God's grace, which He so lavishly poured into our lives ~ be poured through our lives into our world....
@@donmcc6573 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman goes on committing adultery against her." Mark 10:11. I'm sure it's somebody's business.
@@arlobandersnatch6244 But not yours. Were you there, in his life? Do you know all about his relationships, and what transpired to cause his divorces? Is it up to you to condemn a man you don't even know because of his personal life choices? How did you get to be so important and powerful? Oh, I know, you didn't.
@@arlobandersnatch6244 So, everything the Bible says about love, forgiveness, grace and mercy, salvation and the blood of Jesus.....all null and void if someone runs afoul of of one Bible verse. God is brought to His knees by a guitar player getting divorced.
Thanking Billy Graham for his entrance into heaven is frankly disgusting and revolting and demonstrates the vile nature and outcome of the free-will arminian gospel that attributes the salvation of man to a weak grace that is activated by a strong man. If you are truly a child of God, it is the word of water (Christs word) and the Holy Spirit that made you his child, read John 3:1-8 “unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God”. That song graphically demonstrated more than any theology book ever could the heretical and tragic errors of the free-will gospel of the “Evangelical church”.
@jeanniemotherof3 - He is stating that he has no knowledge of the Creator of the universe and the Great God and Savior who gives the gift of eternal life to all those who exercise their free will to choose and do so choosing to believe Yeshua Jesus is He in whom dwells all the fullness of God in bodily form, and believe their sin has been taken away and their sins forgiven because God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our sins against us. He is letting everyone know that he is an empty man with no hope and evil, empty Calvinism which cannot stand the truth that - we have chosen to have hope in the faith of God's love. Men like him never know the joy of the assurance of eternal life, and detest those of us who do.
@@JAFO. Your hatred and mocking of gospel doctrines like election and the gift of faith reveal your own hatred for the gospel and the Sovereign God of Scripture, nothing more. You are not clever or wise in making up your own little verses like “we have chosen to have hope in the faith of God’s love”, an absurd and unintelligible sentiment found nowhere in the Bible. Jesus told his disciples “you did not choose me I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit”. John 15:16. Singing a song praising the MAN Billy Graham instead of GOD is the logical outcome of a false “gospel” that ultimately puts faith in mans ability to complete God’s saving work. The scriptures are clear, faith is a gift from God , Ephesians 2:8-9, Philippians 1:29. We are dead in sin Ephesians 2:1-6 until God raises us up through faith. Billy Graham in a widely publicized interview with Larry King confesses he believes people who don’t even believe in Christ are saved if they are good. So you can run your smart mouth all you want against me i couldn’t care less, but I will defend the gospel against heresy and heretics like yourself and Billy Graham.
