Randy you're a one of a kind sir! I recovered from a traumatic brain injury in 2010 from getting run over where I died twice in route to the hospital and underwent 3 emergency brain surgeries! I have the faith that you will return to country music! Just fight! If I could do it sir you can too!
I just heard this song for the first time last night. The words, his face so full of sorrow and pain. The melody and the way he takes his time with this song that must be torture to sing. My buddy played it off RU-vid probably 9 or 10 years ago and I had one of this ‘yeah that’s pretty good’ but brush it off type listens. Fast forward to three days ago and it popped up on Amazon Music and shit...I recognized it immediately and started to appreciate it for what it was - one of the best country songs ever.
U know why it's painful for him? When he was trying to make it @18 or 19, he dated n pregnagted my sister @ 17. I'm not sure who left who, but I'm sis in Nashville came home pregnant....she received cars from him, and he knows it!!?

I went and saw Randy Travis every time he was at the Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax Va. One night I even took my 7 year old Daughter, oh she loves Randy, we were sitting in the stand not far from the stage on an aisle seat. She wanted to go down and get his autograph where others on the floor were getting. So I let her go down by herself as I could see her, the attendant wouldn't let her go down to the front of the stage. She came back in tears, and the attendant told me the people in the stands weren't able to go down as we paid for out seats just like everyone else did. So my Brother called our Country Music Station and got Randy's address and sent him a picture of her and what had happened. Within a week my Daughter had a glossy 8x10 picture autographed..Sorry I missed seeing you in Fairfax, Ryane Love Randy Travis. She was so happy and she's 43 and still has her picture hanging on her wall.❤❤❤ We both love his music and I listen to it everyday.
This is what "Today's Country Stars" THINK they sound like.....not even close. Sing your song straight up, no auto-tune, no doctoring, just sing it. If you sound like this then Amen. Most will not and cannot.

This is probably my favorite song by Randy. It's hard to keep a dry eye while listening to it, but this performance rips my heart out every time I watch it. Can't help by tear up.

You bet your butt! I adore Randy Travis! He got me through some tough times. He's also an inspiration to many of my family members, particularly my brother, who was murdered. Randy is one of the best country music singers of all time. I knew him from his nights at both country city venues, where I would shoot pool, and where he got his start. I am so saddened by his health issues, but luckily his new wife Ms. Davis is taking good care of him. Godspeed Randy!
One of the best I have ever heard in my life time. It broke my heart when he had a stroke. I had a stroke myself when I was Younger and it effected my sight but by my will and gods I came out of it. That was twenty years ago. I pray that Randy will bless us again with his beautiful voice.
I’m completely blown away by this performance. How did I just find this. Randy Travis and Keith Whitley are the most iconic voices is the history of music. Sadly we have lost both of those voices way to soon
Randy is till with us though and still recovering. His greatest wish is to be able to sing again. he's made a small start and hopefully the improvement will continue.

Pure silence while he's singing... such a magical performance. I know he will be back on his feet. His performance of amazing grace was one of my personal favorites. You don't have to be religious to respect amazing music that was put together perfectly. This is real country music.

His voice has saved me since 1989 and I was 4 years old. I told my mom all I wanted for my 8th birthday was randy travis cassette tape... she surprised me and I cried and soaked my grandma's pillow while I listened to the entire cassette.

Cool story!!!!!! When my daughter was little I would sing her this song at night to put her to sleep. I usually did this in her room laying on the floor next to her crib. I sang it to her 2-3 times a week until she was almost 3 years old, my wife never heard me doing it because we took turns putting her to sleep. Then one day we were coming home from a wedding and this song came on. My little girl in the back seat, still not 3, sang it word for word. The look on mom's face!

Yes, he did co write this with a friend of his ( John Lindley). This was on his Nashville Palace album, Randy Ray Live from the Nashville Palace..back before he even had a record deal with WB.

I recorded this on VHS when I was a young tween and still have it to this day. I remember that when he looked into the camera I swore he was singing to just me. I hadn't seen this video in years and i just finished watching it again and sure enough it got to that part in the video and I thought he once again was singing right at me lol. This song moves me sooo much! I dont know if he wrote this song, but whoever did was hiding in my home. Why no more true to life songs like this? Here in Edinburgh Scotland, a non-Country lovin' place really, I feel blessed to have found this song. Wish more could hear it. Teetotal, my hubby and myself, but have seen on both sides of my sibling's family a drunken parent destroy children's present homes and please God not their futures.
