Best engine for this type of SUV imo: more range, lower CO2, less emission, it's perfect for a big top of the line luxury vehicle like the RR. Classic good looks sure also helps! As does a great interior

In Australia we get the updated 290bhp SDV6 and it solves the acceleration problem. 0-60 is 6.9 exactly the same as the supercharged petrol.

Very nice review, Steve. I totally agree with what you say about the feeling when driving this vehicle. A gigantic SUV that still delivers a lot of power. I've never tried a non-diesel Land Rover here in Europe. Wonder what thode feel like. I've also enjoyed driving the SDV6 Disco...any thoughts on that car?

Hi, Pedro. It does use DEF and the Meridian sound system is excellent especially in that quiet environment.

There are several factors that can be favorable and unfavorable to Range Rover Td6. Favorable -- diesel fuel costs are lower recently, but that might vary where you live. Favorable - Better fuel economy than the gas options for Range Rover. And Rovers require premium fuel. Unfavorable - #Dieselgate. VW gave diesels a bad name. Why would Tata (Jaguar and Land Rover) would put diesel vehicles in the North American market after the VW fiasco? Unfavorable - price premium for the diesel. Is it worth more for better torque and fuel economy. High end shoppers have to make this decision. (Though $100k+ is like $10 for the rest of us).
