By the time, then he left office in 2019. • During the same period, the currency depreciation, which was averaging 4%, increased to 16% Besides contributing towards wrecking the country, he wrecked his own party which was founded in 1947. • Since 1947 for 54 years, the leadership of the party changed hands 6 times whilst, for the past 29 years, this man refused to give up the leadership. • During his 29 years as leader, the party suffered 30 electoral defeats, the last one resulting in ZERO seats, and could only manage to secure ONE national list seat. Knowing well that he could never win a Presidential election in his life he shamelessly ganged up with the very people who brazenly robbed the country of trillions as per the auditor general’s reports. • In the 365 days he has been president, the domestic debt has increased by over Rs.9 trillion, which is approximately 24,657,534,246 per day. • During the same period, the country’s GDP at constant prices declined to Rs.2,597,441 million from 2,680,074 million in 2022. • The first quarter of 2023 recorded an 11.5% negative growth while the second quarter recorded a negative 3.1% growth. • If you are a 30-year-old this epic failure of a man asks you to wait for another 25 years or 9,125 days for the country to come out of the rut he and his cronies, put us into. • This epic failure and his partner in crime and leader of another pack of thieves together share 96 years in parliament, which is 35,040 days. • This means that if you are 50 years old, both these parasites have been wrecking your life from the day you were born. If this will not scare you and make you understand how worthless they have made your life, either you are a walking corpse or you are brain dead. If you are not a Citizen of Sri Lanka the above is of no relevance to you. If you are a namesake Citizen of Sri Lanka you will consider this to be your fate and do nothing about it. However, if you are a civic-minded citizen of Sri Lanka these numbers should concern you and you will resolve to do what you can within your capacity and capability to see that these two parasites do not wreck the lives of the citizens of this country for much longer.
