This girl is ridiculous and attention seeking. I’m not a fan of Hillsong at all, but she is using human weakness (which we all have) and rumors that she heard from her “sources” as a way to tear down and discredit the church as a whole. She focuses so much on the shortcomings and failures of the Lentz family and Hillsong church as a way to absolve her from any guilt or responsibility for her actions. What would you expect though, from a woman that is willing to knowingly be intimate with another woman’s husband? Carl is 100% responsible for his infidelity. Ranin is 100% responsible for choosing to move forward with the relationship even after she knew he had a family. She wasn’t some poor, manipulated girl that got caught up in a situation where she had no idea he had a wife. She says herself that she googled him shortly after they met. He was a prominent figure so she had the advantage of knowing all of the details of his celebrity life. She could see pictures of his wife and kids. If she really didn’t want to keep it going, she could have blocked him, notified his wife or the church, or been assertive with her message to him to leave her alone. Lots of options and she chose the most destructive.

I don’t believe she’s genuine. She was part of a documentary for a check. She knew he was married, she’s not underage, she doesn’t allege coercion or abuse from Carl. The videos from him to her are non confrontational and expressing care. Carl definitely is not suited for pastoral leadership but he took the fall for the church wanting to hide their horrific discretions. This girl latched on to him after googling him and prob thought she could get close to his celebrity friends. She’s still talking over 2 years later after an affair and then proceeds to judge Carl for giving his side for one interview. SMH. She’s bitter because he kept his family and she stayed trifling.

I had to watch this again. She manipulated him. She would tell him he’s trapped in a marriage for his career. He’s a kid trying to get out. He would cry on the edge of her bed saying how much she loves his wife. He was definitely guilty but also very coerced by her. She’s a jezebel

She lost complete respect when she talked about his daughters private struggles. She clutches at any straw to try to destroy him and his wife with the words she speaks.. then takes it to the next level by speaking about his daughter. Venom. No class. And she is cashing in on a very painful and traumatic time for the Lent family. She is bitter to the bone that this beautiful family were able to come out the other side of this together... and stronger than ever.

i appreciated the interview a lot. Just watched the netflix doc and it really made me reflect on my experience in 12 step programs i've gone to in the past. Some of the best 'speakers' or people that would share at meetings often didn't practice what they preached, and some i know even took advantage of newcomers. So easy to talk the talk.

It was about him finding someone willing to be sneaky with him. You didn’t expect anything from him like everyone else did. It was his ego not from his heart. He had to drink when he was with you. You were a new toy that gave him a dopamine high. His wife and family are real and from his heart on a soul level. He will always be with them.

This interview was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT and I enjoyed EVERY SECOND of it too!!!🙆🏾‍♀🥰🙏🏾 For me, Ranin articulated her viewpoints and experiences very, VERY, well. And, she (Ranin) said it best where she states that “there was NO APOLOGY”. YES, when I watched the "Secrets of Hillsong" documentary, the Lentzes (Carl and Laura) were VERY unapologetic and took ZERO responsibility for their actions/behaviors and instead offered a number of deflections and blame-shifting which is STILL prevalent in existence from the BOTH OF THEM at the time of this commentary posting!!🥴😒🙄 Thank you so much for all that you do Rachel and Best wishes to you both!! 🙏🏾🥰💕🤗🙆🏾‍♀

It’s so hard to listen to someone with zero accountability. Yes he is equally responsible but the moment you knew he was married are you serious or just gonna become friends and then you’re gonna change and invite him to your house? Does she not have any type of shame or dignity to bring up the very intimate details of his daughter? Praying for her, but it does seem like Carl and his family are coming on the other side of things and obviously this was definitely a very scandalous broken thing. The name calling and disgust heaped upon Ranin Karim, a Muslim woman from Egypt who still struggles a bit with English, is truly shocking to see the level of hate directed at her. She is not even a Christian, but Carl Lentz was and NOBODY talks about him that way and he was the instigator! There is a double standard going on here, but that guy is such a smooth talking manipulator he has convinced people he is the one wronged! And people eat it with a spoon. This guy has a history of being a ‘player’ since high school, according to a former class mate at that school - and he has never stopped manipulating. Every interview becomes the Carl Lentz show. His mouth says the right things , but by the end you realize, he made it all about him AGAIN. Both parties were in the wrong, but the master manipulator was Lentz.

Ranin ALSO emphasized in the interview how GOOD Carl Lentz is at coercion and manipulating not only herself but others. She's wrong for her part but he is even more wrong. My (now) ex-husband had an affair and I hated the woman. I felt like she should have cared more about what it would do to me because she is a woman. It hurt worse to blame him but I had to come to the realization that he owed me truth and faithfulness. He was supposed to love me and not hurt me. It was easy for her because she didn't care about me, she cared about herself. The appropriate blame should be placed on each of them but she is not more to blame than he is.

Lenz apparently had multiple affairs including with a lady who worked in his house (housekeeper?). Ranin is the most well known. If you're having trouble in your marriage, you don't turn outward to someone else, you turn inward and solve the problem with your spouse. Adultery issues, sex scandals and rap/ seem to run through this church and many so called Houses of God.

This was such a great interview. As a life long Christian, let me apologize to you. This was embarrassing and shameful and grievous to the heart of the Christ I serve and anyone who follows him in spirit and in truth. I have the same attitude of the rock concert type atmosphere and celebrity worshiping culture that you ladies had. It’s just gross. I don’t think it’s representative of the heart of God at all. I don’t know Lentz or Houston personally but according to scripture, I can judge their fruit and frankly it’s just rotten. It does give me an even stronger desire to represent Christ in a better way. I’m a sinner saved by grace and have compassion for others but our leaders must be better and do better. God bless you both. Hopefully you will get to meet and know someone in your personal lives that exhibits the true nature of Christ.

So I was watching this to be more informed about the situation with Hillsong, and as a Christian myself, This is all just awful. But not at all surprising. No person is too far from a fall if pride is involved and I see pride all over this. The original sin of Satan himself. And everything they are discussing is situational, but it really revealed that they don’t know much about the God of the Bible to think that the church should accept gay marriage ect. When that is a direct command of God. So is adultery and every other sin yes. We shouldn’t expect a church to allow adultery and we shouldn’t expect a church to accept gay marriage and all of that when the Bible clearly models none of that is the way to healthy commune with God and His people. It was just silly to me they were expecting a church to just “accept gay marriage” no like read the Bible that’s not accepted by God just as much as any sexual sin or any sin at all is not acceptable according to His standard. Thank goodness for the cross that brings all truth to clarity and helps us live it out. The answer is Jesus !!!

If you find out your love interest is married, man or woman, it is incumbent on you to shut it down immediately lest you paint yourself as a homewrecker. Her entertaining his attention knowing he was married is where she lost me. Yes he was absolutely wrong for cheating on his wife.. but she knew he was married and continued to play her part so to speak. Having said that, he was the one who took a vow to be faithful to his wife. He was the one who violated that vow.

Everyone always blames the mistress and that’s a bunch of BS. First off she wasn’t cheating so let’s get that straight. 9 times out of 10 the person who is cheating makes that decision. Meaning they gave it thought and said yep I’m going to cheat on my spouse so place the blame there folks. These people are also great liars.
