It's weird seeing so many people PRAYING on this game's downfall when most people who have played it agree on either "it's not for me but I see the vision" or "it's loads of fun" I can understand being mad at Valve for abandoning TF2 and taking so long to fix the bots, everything wrong with CS2, and the 150 car freeway pileup that was Artifact. But idk what Deadlock has to do with any of that.
its mainly that they have a history of games, nearly all of them, that need attention and alot of people are annoyed that instead of giving them that attention, they make a new game.. I mean, whats to say deadlock doesnt also get the classic valve treatment at this point?
@@jadegreenleaf781I mean it’s VALVE. They hire different people for each game, to the point where Gabe is probably the only guy working there from the old days. It’s not like blizzard where they cut off half of the workers and then hire just worse coders. Valve does so many one game contracts that it’s basically a different company making each game. Because of that i don’t think it’s any good to judge a game made by a bunch of contractors because they work under valve (and even if the “valve treatment” will happen, we still have like at least 7 years after release to play the game.)
@@Prosto-Ban This is contradictory to what ive heard how valve works from literally everyone else..? And wtf do you mean one game contracts, this is their first game since alyx. Valve doesnt make many games anymore
@@duolingoowl920 or, and this is a very complex idea so bear with me on it, loads of valve games are very old but have thousands of current players. Tf2 isnt dying, thus it desrves attention. Its not like we're saying concord desrves updates 7 years down the road.
You're the first player I've watched who's actually playing it like a moba and being more efficient with time, recource, wave management and using los/vision to evade or gank Everyone else I've watched is just trying hitting people from turret like drop off DMG doesn't exist and abandoning all waves mid game seemingly roaming at random, hope you find some decent competition soon
Ive never played mobas before this really. But in NA i only see people playing like a moba, like you cant be damaged past a certain distance, minions are priority above all else. People never use cover, and sharpshooter works on every character.
@@bobbytang9924 early access so chiller, but I promise you it will be toxic as meta develops & game continues. More chill people atm though. From what other guy said "throw games intentionally" means to moba players is vastly different from person to person.
4 months is 120 days , that is like 3 hours per day average if you play more on weekends , not unreasonable to play that much , I actually had uninstall the game because I played 140 hours in the first 2 weeks , and it was affecting my work performance since I work from home . I think the game is more addictive than it has any right to be , I don't remember being addicted like this to a game since Skyrim came out in 2011 . I think the reason is that the games where you are losing end instantly pretty much instead of being like Dota or league where you surrender or wait 15 mins for them to end , so a game ends and you go for the next one , and all characters are bullshit enough on their own way for you to feel like balance is not that bad , aside from pocket , fuck pocket lol
pro/top tier players from Valorant, Overwatch and Smite have all been playing games with similar mechanics and know how to improve at these types of games
Valve's new game, Deadlock. It's on closed beta but it works if you have a friend who shares the code/link on Steam. Already has like 50k players. Mix of TPS and MOBA.
idk what i watched but it looks fun. i want an honest takeon what the difference bt this and predecessor is. Ive never played a moba but their both 3rd person versions.
Predecessor i enjoyed just like i enjoy this game. The main difference is in deadlock, NOTHING has a maximum distance. Ability range can be increased. The items are both very simple and not an essay per item (unlike league or dota). Theres also half the items of league and dota. I think thats a good thing. Deadlock also has no dedicated melee characters like crush or khaimera, everyone has a gun of some kind.
@@Muuumenn uh, you either buy the whole roster at once (paying for the game like normal) or you spend hundreds of games unlocking everything in quickplay.
You should. I'm aware not a lot of people play Dota 2 nor stuck around long enough to get hooked but I guarantee you its balancing is pristine and boasts one of the highest character pool viability percentage in any competitive esport game that is loaded with characters to choose from. If its lead dev, Yoshi/Icefrog is also the same guy responsible for balancing Dota for more than a decade and a half now then deadlock is in very good hands.
Fast games about 20, my fastest was a total mismatch and we stomped in like 14 minutes against shooter players who didn’t know how to farm vs me and my brother who have moba experience. On average 25 mins, upwards of 40 is my longest.
I'll be honest this UI needs a MAJOR update. There's way too much shit on the screen. Thought they'd learn from DOTA 2's UI and scale it down to what's necessary.
Why? What’s wrong with em? The movement is fluid as hell, it feels like Apex levels of polish tbh. Shooting feels good, skills are mostly balanced, the only OP character rn id say is the sniper
They will 90% of visuals are going to be redesigned and changed according to a developer, gameplay is their priority rn and that’s why it’s a closed alpha with little to no marketing.
@stealthyturtles the gameplay looks fine, I just think its ugly. But apparently the devs have confirmed that a lot of the visuals are unfinished so my concern prolly isn't real
This game looks cool but needs a serious visual upgrade , gotham city imposters seemed more well done than this ... Looks like a mix between risk of rain and dishonored 1 , but valve did invent the setting for these type of games .
Nearly everything in this game visually is a placeholder. The models are mostly all carried over from other failed projects. This game is in a pre-alpha stage, not even a full alpha.
Honestly the game looks like it needs more time in the oven, probably fun to play but I'm sure so were the other countless hero shooters that existed or still do that never really blew up. Nothing about this game really stood out to me, the only reason it's got relevance is because of Valve's name. Maybe it'll be really seamless release with great gameplay and no bugs but probably won't be for a long while.
It’s just a closed alpha meant to test gameplay, developer said 90% of art and visuals are going to get reworked. It looks rough for sure but the gameplay is actually incredibly fun and polished.
Idk man, they own the 2 biggest Esports games in the world, adding a 3rd into the mix too. Multi billion dollar company that’s done multi million dollar competitions. Seems like they know what tf they are doing tbh
You think Valve need saving? They have some of the biggest competitive games and a platform that generates a ludicrous amount of money by simply existing, I want some of what you’re smoking.
