For a game like TFT, the details can matter so much and I love having someone talk through how they are thinking about a position, whether they are right or wrong about it. It forces you to flesh out your ideas more while also having to reconsider them if the player you are reviewing goes a different direction. It helps viewers get a sense of the depth of the game but also serves to demonstrate how we could arrive at said decision(s) in our own games.

I like the longer form vods more. TFT is a game with so many microdecisions that can drastically change your results that getting deeper into the vods really adds a lot of depth

I like when you go more in depth and the VODs are longer, the pauses matter a lot for learning, thanks for your content!

That was an excellent vid. The pausing and breaking down each decision was really insightful

Pauses to explain your thoughts basically give us twice the information to take from the video, otherwise why wouldn't we just watched the vod ourselves. We come here for your insight!

I think the new recruit has more value at 3-2 there because he already has a great unit for his next in. Yorick gives umbral and behemoth. It also lets him try to fight for winstreak and keep his tempo. Although he lost his winstreak anyways

Pauses are great! Vids are significantly more insightful and you don't pause for long anyways.

Exactly IMO, just picked up TFT a few days ago, and the difference is skimming vs teaching. Other vod reviews I learn one or two things, this video I learned a lot more due to the greater insight. Obviously for the top 5% or whatever watching this video, the pausing doesn't do much, but I feel like for everyone else it's a huge buff to the quality and knowledge passed onto the viewer.

@@faranocks I'm a Masters player and the things he says is still a fun watch, even if just to see if I can predict the next best move along with him before it is played. Hope you're really enjoying the game! I know when you first start TFT there's an overwhelming amount to learn so I'm glad you found it helpful.

@@harguund4139 Yea there's so much to learn. I come from mahjong (riichi), never really playing the base game. I love the luck + skill in the game, although it's mostly a skill issue for me at the moment. I think I've played around 50 games since starting/the last week and every game I learn something new. Watching videos like these teach me a lot in expanding my playstyle and flexibility. Also other things like BIS / optimal crafts/slams are just really hard to learn through trial and error alone. Overall really enjoying getting better. Nothing is more enjoyable than realizing I messed up massively, and could have had a banger comp, and then putting that comp together a few games later. I used to be stuck playing ashe-warden only, and in a few day's I've greatly expanded what I'm comfortable playing.

@@faranocks I'm glad you're trying to be flexible! The more comps you know the more fun the game is imo. You can just play into anything.

I love the pauses a lot more than without. I think for VOD reviews, the slightly longer form and more in depth discussion is valuable, as it allows more thought that wouldn't happen on stream or in an actual game. It benefits players of all skill levels too, as weaker players can learn how to make decisions and stronger players get a chance to speculate on how they would've played it instead.

I feel like every vod review can be Ran 1 NA Immediately took this augment......... they are always doing stuff immediately. I am not trying to be negative, I am just wondering if a more interesting video / title would get you more views/ better content. A more difficult but interesting analysis would have been you reviewing his 5 matches that he got all 1sts and highlighting specific points from each match that you found interesting and helped him get first. A condensed version of a vod review. I feel like with limited time anything that helps me learn faster is better content... bebes videos back in the day felt the most helpful in helping me climb. I don't care as much about micro decisions but I do care a lot more macro that is transferable per set.

When picking the final Hwei item, I can see an argument for deathcap and for red buff but I don't understand JG. Isn't Deathcap better considering half of Hwei's spell can't crit?
@eebward
@eebward 3 месяца назад
not totally sure, but my best guess is that gb gives sufficient base damage with 7 mythic bonus, so jg crit > dcap.

Is it not fine to just insta slam guard breaker in this game? My logic is: you know exalted will direct players to play for umbral anyways, so that's +25% against the board(s) immediately.
@zhangyic

@@zhangyic the exalted was good for Darius Malphite if I remember correctly. So it should maybe incentivize players to go for it? Any umbral players in the chat got an opinion on this?

@@freeloguy3387 Well that’s if other players go for exalted. Other than that they have no reason to go for umbral unless they have an augment for it
