I feel like if you don't really understand the controller yet it could actually hurt you more than help in some cases

I mean for the longest time I played on KB back in the mid-2000s before people even thought about SOCD rulings, everyone clowned on me for using a KB instead of a 'real controller', now KB is banned because of SOCD shortcuts. The FGC is fickle about controllers, the only time it matters is when a tournament official tells you no and literally any professional player will tell you the same thing even if they feel it gives someone an advantage. I dunno how Tekken officials feel about it, but in all likeliness the people who call it cheating ain't out here playing for money anyways, so let 'em whine and cry cheating when they get chain grabbed by King or poked for half their HP to Asuka 1, 3. People who aren't TLS, LOD or active tournament participants don't got room to blame a controller when that isn't why they're losing. That said there's a reason the crossup has been banned in a ton of 2D fighters and rules have been put in place to prevent directions being accessible to both hands at the same time. I'm not gonna call it cheating, I think blaming a controller when you're not top 0.01% is detrimental to your growth as a player.. Buuut you'd be disqualified in a tournament for bringing a controller that gives access to movement with both hands in SF, GG, DBFZ and UNIST juuuust off the top of my head which is worth mentioning since it does add the barest amount of credibility to the whiners, not that they're good enough for the advantages of the controller to matter in their matches anyways. Side note: If someone thinks it's cheating, buy one yourself? Leverless controllers are about the same price as gamepads nowadays thanks to Haute42-- And imo Haute42 controllers are the gold standard because of GP2040 firmware, it's extremely customizable and lets you remap all your buttons OUTSIDE of the game with no restrictions. Sticks are the only 'expensive' controllers currently, stick also takes a long time to learn and get used to period, not to mention outside of Tekken stick is the worst controller for any game made in the last 15 years or so, and in Tekken they're even more expensive because of how much better Korean levers are when the standard for most is Japanese levers, they return to neutral much faster and well... Have you KBD'd or played a Mishima? Guiding a stick back to neutral on them is pain. The main reason you see sticks in tournaments is because people like myself (Though I use a hitbox now cuz carpel tunnel) who've used them for a decade are comfortable with it, not because it's better.
