What are the four process of Rankine cycle?
A combined heat and power boiler is equipped with the Rankine cycle to produce electricity. This cycle is composed of four key parts: the generation of high-pressure steam, a turbine, a condenser, and a pump. Steam is generated in the boiler and then transferred to the turbine.
What is the formula of Rankine cycle?
In this process, the surroundings work on the fluid, increasing its enthalpy (h = u+pv) and compressing it (increasing its pressure). On the other hand, the entropy remains unchanged. The work required for the compressor is given by WPumps = H2 - H1.

What type of pump is used in Rankine cycle?
Thermoelectric heat pumps are used to increase the efficiency of the Rankine cycle. We scavenge the enthalpy released in the condenser for preheating the return water
Why is the Rankine cycle used?
The Rankine cycle makes practical use of the increase in pressure that occurs when a condensed fluid is forced to evaporate within a contained vessel. The cycle begins when a fluid, such as water, is compressed and put under high pressure.
What is the efficiency of Rankine?
In an actual Rankine cycle, as shown in Fig. 29, with an inlet pressure to the turbine of 7 MPa and a temperature of 500°C, the turbine exit pressure is 100 kPa. The isentropic efficiency of the turbine is 94%. The pressure losses in the pump, condenser, and boiler are considered negligible.
What is the limitation of Rankine cycle?
There are also some disadvantages; an ORC unit will generate less power than a steam cycle operating with similar conditions and costs can be higher for specific applications. Also, as might be expected, the fluids used in an ORC cycle are combustible and if leakages occurred an environmental hazard could result
Rankine cycles require an organic-based working fluid with a lower boiling point than water, and are thus often used with lower temperature geothermal resources. The four major pieces of the Rankine cycle include the boiler, turbine, cooling tower, and feed pump.

The Rankine cycle or Rankine Vapor Cycle is the process widely used by power plants such as coal-fired power plants or nuclear reactors. In this mechanism, a fuel is used to produce heat within a boiler, converting water into steam which then expands through a turbine producing useful work.
