Isn’t it weird how when we talk about makeup, time seems to move differently? For example, 5 years is not a long time but in “makeup release time” it’s like 20 years. I do notice this on the internet in general. Like when we talk about 2016 it’s like we’re talking about the 90’s. Yet it’s not even 10 years ago! 😂 Just an interesting thing I thought I’d point out.
Well, makeup ages fast. Shelf life on palettes is 6 to 24 months, so even a year or 2 means makeup is "old". I still use 5 year old palettes so I don't mind...they're just not as "good" to today's quality.
“let me copy your homework, but don’t make it too obvious “ 😂😂😂 i loveeee the “lust for dusk” palette and colourpop definitely should make more palettes like that. i loveeee my colorful highlighters, but i still love my toned down champagne highlighters as well. time and place for me. i reallllly love my fool fantasy blush/highlighter palette. i was really afraid that the highlighters wouldn’t work on me, but they’re just as the blushes. the juvia’s place cultured palette, sugar and grunge (and i can’t wait to see what she’s about to release), delicious delights, and yucca palettes are still on my wishlist. i’m so happy that ND gave you a code!!! i loveeee your ranking videos. you look stunning, as per usual. 💜💜💜
I agree with you! I love Blend Bunny, but I’m also DETERMINED to make that colored Hindash palette work - I haven’t figured out how, but I love the other Hindash palette so much that I refuse to give up until I figure it out. 😂
I haven’t bought any makeup in 4 months with a few brand exceptions: NDenona, Nomad, and Oden’s Eye. I can’t resist their eyeshadow. 😊 I’m doing great not buying complexion products, and eyeshadow palettes other than the above mentioned brands. 😁
I got the smokin' hot palette in the recent Ulta sale. I realized I was definitely lacking oranges and reds in my eyeshadow collection, and now I have an abundance. 😂 😂 😂 I am thinking about taking some shades out of it and adding some different shades in to make it less redundant. The Yucca palette allows me to live my Bog witch fantasy, and I will not apologize for that. 😆 It does make me wish ND would re-release her large palettes in the midi size, since I could see these shades working really well in a palette with some of the large shades.
@daniellezadora7637 I know the round pan ones are. I just pulled from Bare Necessities, Thats Taupe, So Jaded and Stone Cold Fox to make a travel palette. I haven't checked my square pans.
There are only so many labs and they manufacture for lots of brands at once but each brand creates their own formula with the cosmetic chemist. They can either create a new one from scratch or customize an in-house base. Private labeling, however, is when a brand buys generic pre-made products, usually wholesale, and puts their own logo on them. These products are available to any brand and other than minor packaging changes, are not customizable
Yes! Almost every pallet I hold out on because I have to know your thoughts first Angie before I consider buying. I was so set on getting ABH cosmos but was like nope...gotta wait for angie and I'm so glad I didn't get it now. I just adore you❤
Angie would you ever do a dedicated "How to use Natasha Denona eyeshadow formula" video?! I want to love her palettes and I want to learn how to work with her formulas, especially her cream to powder! Every time I sit down to play with one of her palettes, I feel like I make a mess instead of making a beautiful eyelook! I definitely think there's a learning curve with her formulas and I haven't quite figured them out yet! Does anyone else struggle?! Any tips or advice is much appreciated💜🩷❤️ Angie you look BEAUTIFUL and I LOVE your eyelook so much!!!
I think overall this summer had quite interesting launches compared to some of the usual summer palettes we get often designed around warm neutrals. I think the level of summer launches this year beats quite many seasons of end of the year holiday launches, which is usually the time of the year we get some of the more memorable palettes from different brands. Let's see if the good phase particularly from indie brands continues to the holiday season. 🥰
I couldn't agree with you more about the ABH Cosmos palette. If those brown mattes were deep (maybe even murky) blues, violets, and maybe a taupe for transition, I would have been all over it. When I think of the cosmos, I just don't think of browns (plus, who doesn't already have 1,000 browns in their collection?).
My favorite Blend Bunny palette is their bare cheeks palette. I like subtle blush and the colors are so flattering on me. I may actually get their cheek palette too
Agree on Cosmic Brushes! I bought the full set and they are all I have used in the past two weeks. I have the metropolis palette so skipped Yucca but I like the direction from ND. Thanks for the input on Shroud - I know Betty Jean loves it and the company so I was debating but appreciate the counterpoint! Thanks as always got your thorough and honest reviews and you do THE BEST swatches!!!
Been on the fence for the JP Culture 2 pallet, so will have to use some Ulta points to add to my Juvia's Place collection. Hope y'all are having a great week!
I am slowing down on palette purchases, but the yucca palette is one I couldnt resist. I got it as soon as it came out. I only paid $46 w/ a coupon + ulta points.
Your thoughts have sealed the deal! Yucca is my fav colour story since metropolis…better, because it’s not overly dark. This will be my first ND, first palette in this year 😃 thanks Ang
Every time I see "It's a mood" I say to myself that it should have been a 16-pan! I feel validated haha But yeah, it would have been a gorgeous smaller palette
I so agree with you on the Cosmos palette. It’s like they just keep putting out the same kind of palette without thinking about what people really want
I enjoyed this review of the palettes. My kids asked me if I'd already seen the video partway through. Startled I said no, why? They said because you say something then she says the same thing. Our lions were exactly the same on a few of those.
Hi, I just want to say, that I think you're beautiful and that no matter what people say or write down in the comments, you know who you are and you know what kind of person you are. I am also guilty of not watching enough of your videos to understand what kind of person you are which I think is a person with a big heart. I also want to say that today I took a chance and doing eye shadow a little but like some of your looks where you start with the darkest color in the corner, and used every single one of your brushes and it came out so pretty. I am thrilled that now I have another way of applying eyeshadow. I also love your brushes but I don't like to use them all the time because I don't want to ruin them :)
I've been absolutely loving the Cosmic brushes delicious delights palette it's so good. ND Yucca palette is beautiful. i think it's going to end up being my favourite midi. I tried Blend Bunny for the first time i got the sugar and grudge palette, and them mattes did not disappoint really, really nice 😊
I love hellofresh, too! I signed up after watching your sponsored videos, and I love it so much! I've also learned a lot about cooking. Last month, I switched to every plate, and while it's good, hellofresh is wayyy better! I got my hello fresh back this week!
I haven't purchased any makeup unless it was something I ran out of, like a foundation from colorpop, but I absolutely splurged on the Yucca palette. I knew the second I saw it that it was going to be mine. I adore her formula, it's my absolute favorite. I have 5 other palettes that size (I would love a couple of her larger ones but I sure can't spend that kind of money) and all of her minis besides 2 I think, maybe 3. The colors in that palette though... the greens are stunning. I have medium brown eyes with a touch of red in them and every color in that palette makes my eyes look lighter and brighter and just over all more beautiful.
100% agree about ABH Cosmos. Saw at Ulta and although I liked the shimmers when I saw the mattes I immediately thought they did not go with and looked like Primrose
With the ABH cosmos palette I was hoping for unusual mattes , maybe something dark and grungy like Subculture. If they'd done those duochromes with the reformulated Subculture mattes- yes a whole world of yes 😂
I have gotten very picky with eyeshadow palettes. ND, Adept, Oden's Eye and Nomad are the only brands I have bought from in a long time. I love Yucca...nightmare with ND customer service (never again) but I finally grabbed it at ULTA
Well deserved first place choice I don’t think anyone can really argue with this loved your selections and your opinions even though mine differ a little bit I still on appreciative and respect yours and we all can love make up in our own way
So glad I bit the bullet to get the Yucca palette. What’s crazy right now is FarFetch have a sale with 50% off ND palettes, including the Yucca palette. After some hmm-img and arrr-ing i convinced myself to buy it and your videos have helped me in my purchase. Thank you Angie, I can’t wait to receive it and recreate your looks.
@@Alliesaephan it was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it situation. They still have midi the bronze, zendo, sunrise and sunset palette. The last I looked they had the midi Retro palette and that’s completely sold out. Still, not a bad time to get a mini palette at 50% percent off.
I bought the JP Culture 2. Unfortunately, it took them a month to fulfill the shipping order & it was hard to contact their customer service. So glad I waited, but should have probably went in store to get it at Ulta.
I do agree about the ABH palette. I am even a neutral meets colorful makeup lover, but I was so not interested in that palette. I have plenty of neutrals to use if I wanted to add them in. I buy a more color palette to mix it up and get outside of my normal makeup.
I do expect great colour pay off at first swatch without a primer and easy blendability, minimal/no fall out and and longevity with no colour fading or oxidation. All of that. Like M.A.C single pots circa 2009. I tried to buy their shadow in 2020 and in 2021, they were rubbish. Just now I tried their new connect in colour stuff cause they claim the formula is improved. I didn't see much yet, however they still not the same based on the only time I have used the new palette and I didn't feel like using it since 😅
I'm getting the cosmos palette because I don't have access to many indie brands 😔 I buy from oden's but I haven't had much luck with other brands with international shipping. They're sprakly enough to the point where I feel I'm wearing something "unique" to an extent
I’m so honored I own your top 2 palettes from this ranking ❤ and I love them so I completely agree with everything you said. I’m a shimmer lover so you know these two palettes have top matte formula and amazing sparkly shimmers. I can’t get behind Juvia’s Place. I tried some of their palettes and I found the formula very dry and unpleasant to work with. And from Lunar Beauty I only own the Nude Prism and I had trouble with the mattes in the sense that I had to start with the deepest shade because they wouldn’t build on each other.
@@carleemae6596 the Nomad, and I think there was a set of 6 small 6 pan palettes. I bought everything in one order and decluttered not long after. Yes, all shadows were feeling dry to the touch, I like to apply my shimmers with the finger. The 6 pans I had most complaints about. Some had lackluster pigment, some had shades that look very similar on the eye. The shimmers were basic and dry. Overall they did apply well on the eyes, but I just couldn’t stand the feel of them, the experience of applying them. For me, which I have a lot of high quality shadows in my collection, indie and mainstream, JP (and Klarity Cosmetics mattes tbf) was the worst formula I tried. I will say I did declutter all my drugstore palettes during the past few years, the quality was never there for me.
I used hellfresh for a year and loved them except we started to get issues almost biweekly where they would not send the meat for a meal, or not send the ingredient bag, stuff would be broken in a bag andleaking everywhere, vegetables were less than fresh, missing items in the bags, wrong meat or bag for a meal. It was insane and a bit infuriated for what we were paying every week so I canceled and even that was a pain in the ass to do. We save about $100 a week buying our own stuff now which is nuts. We did get a lot of good recipes out of it, a lot of so/so and crap ones as well. Meat was good quality and we tried foods we normally wouldn't so those were for sure upsides. It was nice having everything planned out and the portion sizes all in packages and not something I had to think about... when it was all there, the right stuff, not broken and leaking all over everything, or not missing that is. idk if I would recommend them anymore, but if I did I would tell them the honest truth. The good, the bad, and the ugly so they know everything before they make a decision.
@@AngelicaNyqvist I am glad you have just had the one issue. They always took care of the problems by issued refunds or charging us less for the next week which is good. It just became such a hassle and an annoyance because we were spending money with them then had to turn around and buy whatever they were missing which sucks when you are on a very tight budget especially if it is meat or a some kind of sauce or whatever that you have to have a bottle of that you will never use again. Or even veggies. You use what you need for the recipe then the left over stuff goes bad before you can use it because you have the other meals to cook before they go bad. Don't even get me started on trying to cancel. That's a whole other issue but they are way better than homechef. I could tell you the nightmare I had trying to cancel them and the scam they pull on a lot of people. It's disgusting.
I feel ABH changed her, already covetted, formula, not based on the 10 bigger pans and I was not interested. Curious yes! 😊❤ Love your thoughts on these. I did get the Mega Palette Play it Jewel, in my Colourpop mystery spring box! I switch out the browns (6 or 7) to complimentary colours from my 9 pan monochromatics. I am using them as singles and reduced the room those 15 palettes to 3 bigger. That is the small pans. I have over....can't count that far 😂!
I got the abh palette and didn't know what to do with it 😅 to me, the mattes don't go with the shimmers. If I'm wearing neutrals I'll wear a neutral shimmer, maybe even a special neutral shimmer but a neutral one. With these different colors idk just disconnected for me I guess.
I feel the same about the scooby doo palette, it just hurts my eyes to look at so I can't even see how beautiful the shades are, because the swatches look amazing, but I just couldn't get over the design
