We came a long way from ranking the grippiest (J. Cole would be proud). Real shit I always liked the funny content but seeing this side of you has been really rewarding too. You're a great writer and have some really interesting insights. Can't wait to hear you cover Shadow of the Erdtree!
@@Arkade_k17 After seeing this comment and I decided to look over your older videos and DAAAAAAAAAM its wild Which boss has the best milkers which one has the best feet 😭
I swear to god, it has to include every encounter with a named health bar. All Sekiro mini bosses. All Chalice Dungeons bosses. All dozens of Elden Ring random boss encounters throughout the map. I want them all.
I beat malenia naked while trying to do a full naked run of all the bosses and honestly it just felt as if the universe just didn’t want to allow me to win.
Yeah, dunno about favorite but I really liked it. Their design is dope (always liked the look of black flames in souls games), their music is nothing short of amazing and is still one of my favorites in the base game. Sure they are not quite as well put together as a duo as O&S but still not as bad as people say. And honestly I feel O&S are a little (but only a little) overrated as a duo fight. But it might be just because the game is a little dated.
While I suck at fighting him, I always enjoyed fighting Ludwig. I love his emotional transition from a hunter who became a beast to a beast that became a hunter again in his second phase.
LIST SPOILERS AHEAD I think your list is completely fair and an excellent ranking overall. I'm surprised you don't like Sister Friede that much though. I find her to be one of the most enjoyable fights in the entire series. She was like the first Malenia to me. I think the amazement I had after finishing the second phase for the time and getting a titanite slab as a reward, thinking that the fight was over, only to have her stand up.... AGAIN, was one the best moments I've ever had in soulsbourne. Easy top 10 for me personally. Also I'd put Isshin number 1, but Gael is still a great choice. I just think Isshin is the most perfect fight From has ever made.
Sword Saint Ishin is perfection as far as I'm concerned; the absolute refinement of Sekiro's mechanics with FromSoft's signature demanding yet rewarding gameplay. He alone would raise any game to a much higher standard by his inclusion.
Mellania is like anime character doing insane 8-9 fist punch combos while you are from 50's cartoon with a fiddle stick trying to juggle everything. So fair From software so fair :)
You can turn her into a little punching bag with another knowledge of the game and the fight, it is a very fair fight apart from her stagger cancel kick in phase 2
Hops back into the 2 hour video and the first thing I hear is "Size is what I like the most" like ok Gaylord pipe down. Bro wants to do tricks on Iron Golem😂
Soul of Cinder in 4th place is so valid, most people I have seen has put this in like 7th place when it comes to ds3 bosses, but he's definitely my favorite from the base game.
The worst thing about Godskin Duo is that before Elden Ring, they managed to create an gank boss that was equally as good as O&S with The Demon Princes from Ringed City, and then they just decided "nah, instead of that. Have the Godskin Duo"
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but labelling Maiden Astrea's Lore as "okay i guess" just completely shows you dont really understand the point of the encounter. It seems youre doing more of a "how much do i enjoy hitting the thing until it dies" list rather than a holistic boss ranking
It doesn’t seem like he really enjoys the games or the story’s, a boss like true king allant isn’t great but its impact on the story really makes it hit better
Messmer is in my top 15, the only thing I really hate is his grab does a little too much damage and the one snack attack can clip out of the walls and makes it so you can't tell when to dodge Very minor nitpicks tho, it's such an incredible boss
DS1 could be described imo as "difficulty in simplicity" and I think the more recent games forget that sometimes. We need the balance between DS1s combat and the more recent which is just bosses spamming unlimited attacks like stamina is a word they dont know, plus having multiple health bars and hidden stages is annoying imo too. Just give it one health and make it really hard.
lol I remember being summoned as the old monk in the remake with an OP mage build so you get to move around a bit before the guy enters the fog gate so I hid behind the door so he exited the fog gate immediately into fire storm and died
So many people say true king Allant is bad but like, why? He shows you the sad state of the real king allant opposed to the heroic old king allant we fought previously. It’s not even like the presence of king allant robs you of a grand final fight, that’s already supplied by old king allant.
I love True King Gallant. Demon’s Soul dipped the script on so many rules of modern video games, and a weak and pathetic final boss after a merciless and punishing game appealed to me
Chained ogre and Phalanx that low, now I’m gonna have to keep thinking for the next hour how most bosses are somehow better, especially DS1’s terrible boss line up
Only thing I completely disagree with is Fortissax, E tier boss. And on waterfowl in phase 1 it sort of acts a deterrent for the player to whale on her because of how easily staggered she is and because in phase 1 the move has like a 1 minute cool-down until she can’t next use you then know that you are safe to whale on her again . This is thrown out the window in phase 2 though because she is then able to spam it
Your critique throughout this video of “This boss would have been gassed in DS1 or 2 or 3” is kinda weird when you can say that about almost any decent boss in a future game going back to a older one. For example if you put Vordt of the boreal valley in DS1 people would say he’s a good boss, but that’s a no brainer because it’s a future boss with more polished move set. Just a weird defense of Elden Ring’s copy paste design you can use for almost anything if you want. A great video still I just thought that was odd.
Gayle really is that guy, even after the elden ring dlc, Gayle stands at #1. I cannot see them making a better boss, I don’t think it’s possible (I will say Mesmer and Bayle are close but still)
sister friede in B..... reasoning? she's too fast? so basically your reasoning for the fight being bad is that you're not good at the game? SIster friede is one of if not the best boss in dark souls 3.. get good bruh
6:50 This fight is legitimately the only soulsborne boss I've ever cheesed, fuck capra demon. Why did they think those two dogs and small ass arena was a good idea
My top 5 is very different from yours, I rank bosses from a mechanical perspective so it’s filled with Sekiro and ER bosses. Ds3 bosses are kinda unpolished because of how some of them have inconsistent follow ups which make them especially annoying to fight on challenge runs or NG+7.
I just beat Dark Souls 1 for the first time ever about two days ago. Bed of Chaos and Gaping Dragon were my least favorite, and Artorias and probably Queelag were my favorite
