Ranking All Candlekeep Adventures (Tier List)

I agree with the ranking. It was also a really fun stream.

I cracked a solid laugh with the "wanna make this adventure better? Play another one"

I ran extradimensional spaces and loved it The players also loved it A dungeon delve at level 1 with meaningful decisions and choices to avoid combat I would argue it should be S tier because of how well it was balanced

Alchemy is a Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, kill bill type of invasion of a monk temple It is a themed but fun adventure, that was harsh imo:)

Zikran's deserves more love The dragon is cool The climb of the mountain is amazing with the winged kobolds (I am using imps that can go invisible ) And the fat genasi elementals, and the cannon is a great mechanic

I was going to run Xanthoria for my first time ever DMing but my very-experienced DM friends and I found the constant damage from entering and leaving rooms to be hard to have fun with, so I scaled down to Zikran's and I gotta say that the campaign was pretty fun and straightforward, with a lot of room to add flavor like having the keep start flying as soon as you finish the climb (as written it is a little hollow). I'm actually using the aftermath of that one-shot to serve as the main plot of a campaign I'm running with them a few months from now so maybe I'm a bit biased.

Lore of lurue is amazing The adventure in the fey wild and is a fairy tale The DM can expand on the road to the hags and the side quest making it a multi session adventure With the creatures providing you help like the dryads until you reach the final encounter The invisible barrier is necessary in the fey wild otherwise the players would get lost and the DM would commit suicide

I agree with everything except lore of larue it should be s tier Canopic golems should be replaced with mummies or cut the canopic golem hp to 100 hp

26:50 ish a realasationsion at there rank with current levels teirs work, ordered by level how would you stack these differently based on a party going through this book of adventures?

The meenlocks adventure is pretty cool I would have liked the meenlock cave to have multiple levels in a skyrim dungeon style

I just played Book of Raven. I totally agree with your assessment. I had a character that would have been helpful in that final battle but like you said there was no reason to go there. Just poorly written.

Interesting ranking mainly because you are ranking based on no changes Which is definitely not the way you should run any adventure to be fair 😅 But I understand your point to make the ranking fair and consistent

The crabs adventure I was kind of disappointed there was no map of the river segment of the adventure I felt it had great missed potential as that was supposed to be the cornerstone feature of the adventure

Sarah's adventure lacks a map of waterdeep It is kind of hard to run the waterdeep segment of the adventure The following segment in the village is quite fun imho

The book of the raven just feels like there's no plot at all. Which just seems frustrating

Mazfroth's I didn't like the idea of and skipped it all together Book of the raven was nice but requires some changes on the DM side I used ghouls in the initial map The final encounter is definitely a tpk I actually gave them a level once they entered the shadowfel and they had to flee using a skill challenge Then came back with 2 players casting turn undead It was a messy combat but it was a good time none the less

I agree with your assessment of the price of beauty narratively An all male party might not buy into the adventure at the beginning But the build up will be worth it eventually
