I want nothing more than a Muerte palette return. It’s so beautiful- it released right before I started wearing eyeshadow so I missed it, now I feel like I see it in so many tutorials on Insta and I can’t even get my hands on it 😭 It seems that when Melt says limited edition, they mean it!
Yes when Melt say limited edition it will be limited edition, that’s what limited edition should mean. I don’t get the other makeup companies it’s just weird to me. So sorry you missed out on an amazing palette.
Same here! I love skulls and especially sugar skulls. I collect them. I can't believe I wasn't able to get my hands on these. I would get it just for the packaging!!!
I think “amy loves makeup” has a duping video for that muerte palette, dupes are the way to go for those limited edition ones, they use singles shadows or shadows from other palettes, so you can mix and match brands for the same result and probably cheaper
Melt's concepts and colour stories are really great, but they're just too expensive for being so hit and miss in terms of quality for me to instantly purchase something from them. I say "instantly", because they seem to have so many limited collections that sell out immediately and don't restock. If you considered purchasing something, you wouldn't be able to wait for reviews, but would just have to take the risk of the quality being a miss and I'm personally not about that. I have too many eyeshadow palettes anyway though, so it's whatever. :)
Same to all these points! I wanted the lovely Día De Los Muertos palettes, but I missed out, so instead I bought a ceramic skull from Peru and called it a day 💀😁💜
I agree completely! I don't worry about Kaleidos as they have been extremely consistent for such a lower price point. The only that that stinks with Kaleidos is the shipping time but I _know_ I'm waiting for an excellent product. Melt costs more and I could have pretty much instant gratification...until I find out it's a bad quality palette. Melt's only consistency is their INconsistency!
Yep there are two brands that are automatic for me, kaleidos and bperfect. As far as eyeshadow goes. It doesn’t matter what the release is by kaleidos I will grab it and thus far I’ve not regretted a single purchase. I will say I don’t use the escape pod as much as I should but it’s still a great palette. I picked up love Tahiti recently on sale for 30% off with free shipping and it’s amazing!!
When you were talking about the inconsistent quality of Melt eyeshadows the only thing I could think of was that video of Gattuso when he's says "sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe sh¡t" 😂
I love that when using Melt mattes they show up on darker skin tones and is an effortless blend. Their Impulsive palette has great shimmers and they go on smoothly - only negative is that the packaging is bulky and heavy like a brick. Waiting for them to turn the Love Sick Stack into a palette! The whole stack is chef’s kiss, especially blue toned grey matte. Excited to see what they release later this year! Maybe they should release a grungy Tim Burton palette.
Everyone accused Kaleidos of copying Melt's layout with their Flower Punk palette but with less colors and a more unique color story, they blew the 420 palette out of the water.
Fun story, my sis ordered each of us a Vida on sale. Sephora accidentally sent us a Vida and a Muerte (long after it sold out). We share them and they are glorious. I actually prefer Vida to Muerte.
I like Melt. Melt is a brand that has a concept and really sells it (for better or worse). I only started purchasing with Melt last holiday and I've got quite a few products now. I never had any of the stacks but I did receive the lovesick single as a freebee with my last order. The formulas WAS really different so I did some digging. The stack formula was talc based, and the new pallets are all mica/ synthetic mica based. I think-you were onto something when you said the need for frequent launches that comes with being in Sephora is not helping the brand nail down a new mica based eye shadow formula that's consistent. Also (not an excuse) but Melt as a brand is really tiny. I don't know what their current numbers are but last year they had 9 employees total. They are a very small brand compared to other brands in Sephora. (Note: I realize they probably have/use outside contractors, lab services, and they use a warehouse/distributing service for the brand website)
I'm so glad I picked up the Muerte palette. It's actually not a perfect fit for my taste, but I think it is so unique and great when I want dark mattes. Also PSA if anyone doesn't know, Melt palettes are magnetic!
I need Melt to a) restock the Gemini palette (I've been trying to get a hold of it for months and it's sold out everywhere - even on their website) and b) stop with limited-edition palettes. It's really bad if for whatever reason, you can't get it within the first couple of days it's released, you'll probably have fomo, and honestly, it puts me off of their brand :/

I don't know why everyone thinks their limited edition pallets are always sold out quickly, i bought the muerte pallet on beautybay a year after it released, they restocked it several times. But i think the big hype for those pallets started so late that everyone thinks that they were gone so fast, but really they were available for so long, at least on beautybay
I’d rather have a brand mean it when they say something is LE rather than trick customers into thinking it’s LE when it’s really not and it was never going to be

I forgot about half of these palettes. Notably " She's in Parties." Tho several look dreamy af, I won't give one dime to a company that keeps shit show releases on the market (420) but makes the Beetlejuice uber limited, so you have to be in some elite club to obtain. I hate companies that do that. Collector pieces... sure, cool. But at the root, I'd like to use the make up. They've potentially some great stuff in their archives.
Changing the stacks to palettes was an opportunity to add a couple more shades and elevate it... the blueprint could have been so much more! I have the Smoke Sessions, Muerte and Vida. I regret not getting the Gemini though... I wish the shimmers for the Mary Jane palette were better, still looking for my perfect smokey taupe palette I guess!
Am I the only one who loved their stacks? I know they have their issues- like the magnets hit each other too hard and hurt the shadows. I am sure that they could fix that issue though? I'm kinda sad that they are phasing them out, it's what drew me to them in like 2016! Such a unique design
I am forever happy for the fact that i managed to get my hands on the amor eterno collection. But beyond that, i hesitate a lot when it comes to buying from melt because the reviews always end with “it’s hit or miss” when it comes to quality and melt is mad expensive for me. I honestly would rather buy three CP palettes that have the colors i like from melt and it’s cheaper and a relative consistent quality.
Those are the only two of their palettes that I have, too, and I can't tell you how much I love the Gemini palette. If you think you'll like the color story, I think you'll like it!
I really liked the Beetlejuice collection, especially the Waiting room. I almost bought it, but I was hesitating because it's just too much money and you never know how good they'll be. Now, of course, I am sad I didn't get it, and it's discontinued. At this rate I don't think I'll ever be "brave" enough to purchase from Melt because they are so hit and miss, so I just gave up on them.
The limited edition palettes from Melt are some of the best and it kills me because I like to think before I buy, make sure I will use it… I Miss out on them every time and then have to live with my decisions 🥲 the self hatred that come from not buying muerte and Vida is eternal. I actually tried to get the Beetlejuice launch and failed… The deception is never ending 😭 but I do love Melt as a brand though.

I recently bought She’s In Parties and am using it for the first time today 😮 and am loving it. I’ve built Meanstreak up to where it is almost black! I am so happy I bought it. And this is the first Melt palette I’ve bought so I will definitely buy more from them in the future. Perfect first experience with them.
I had every opportunity to buy Muerte and I passed every single time, regret. My top Melt palettes are Rust, The Waiting Room, She's in Parties, and Gemini (though the shimmers need help). Vida and Smoke Sessions are still pretty though. I adore Melt for their dark mattes and I want more. Also if you haven't tried their gel liner pots, RUN don't walk, they are so good across the board.
I'm still fairly new to wearing eyeshadows and I had my obsession with colourpop but that's definitely calmed down, and Melt has had my eye. Specifically, their palettes with red eyeshadows. Even more specifically, the Vida palette because of the mattes with the few shimmers.

So thankful for this review of the brand/ranking of palettes! I saw on IG that the Gemini is coming back, loved the color story but I do not own any MELT products. When I looked at the price I wanted to find reviews of the eyeshadows to make an educated purchase. In my opinion, they are too expensive to be so hit or miss. If I drop $58 on a palette, I want to love and be able to use every shade without frustration. Thank You, this video helped me make my decision to pass on the re-release of the Gemini.
Unrelated to the video, I remembered that you used to do a monthly video where you created a 4 pan pallet. I enjoyed the videos and it helped me in realizing and creating color stories. Could you/ would you ever do something like that again? 💕
Im still so perplexed about the hate for the 420 palette. I had no issues with it. I honestly haven’t had any major issues with the quality of any of my Melt palettes but that could totally be down to preference and application technique. I do think Melt could improve their metallic formulas. It’s their one weak spot for me. I did just sell my Beetlejuice palettes on Poshmark because I found them to be too repetitive in tones. And I have Muerte and I feel like the red mattes in The Waiting Room palette are basically dupes for the ones in Muerte. The Recently Deceased Palette was again too similar in tone and I never got around to actually using it.
I think I had a dud, because I love my melt palettes but that one just hurt my soul. The delicious gold shimmer was hard pan immediately. No pigment whatsoever. I tried everything to make it work. It hurts to say that about a melt pallette
Very helpful! I've been wanting to try melt for a long time, but because it is notoriously so hit and miss, I've stayed on the fence. The palette that intrigues me the most is She's in Parties, so based on your rankings, that would be a great one too start. I have rust, 420, maryjane, blueprint, and smoke sessions. AND I finally caved and bought she's in parties. It is on the way 😁 I have had good experience with all of the palettes I own. Some of their shimmers feel like a stiff cream to powder formula...if that makes sense. But I find that those are easy to work with once you play around a little, and they barely have fallout! Melt is one of my favorite brands. I wish their quality was consistent for everyone. Also, I would love for them to release a spring mj themed palette heavy on the purples with some orange and yellow to contrast. With beautiful purple packaging.
I love Melt, and every launch I hope they knock it out of the park, but I hate that they're so hit and miss because when they're good, they're really, really good! Gemini is probably my all-time favourite palette, but I also adore She's In Parties, and (controversial, I know) have been really loving Mary Jane.
I love Muerte but it is pretty intimidating that color story. I sometimes struggle using it on its own but I love to use it with other palettes. They make the best red shadows and green too! I also really liked impulsive that shade go getter is bright and beautiful!
I love Melt cosmetics. They have the best customer service of any makeup company I have ever dealt with. Do they have some palettes that the quality needs work? Absolutely. They were so kind to me when I had a issue that I am a customer for life. I do have most of their palettes and enjoy them.
I really hope you can snag a Gemini palette, Angie. I think it would satisfy your need for grungy greens/yellows. The formula is stellar, I can’t believe they haven’t brought it back. 😢

Millennial Pinkx, aka the palette I asked everyone in my house about. To me, it looks like a red, pink, and gray-blue palette. I was stunned to find out that what I took to be an ice blue, a slate gray, and an even darker blue gray had no blue in it at all. Everyone else guessed correctly. I'm happy I didn't buy it, but I did add it to a Pinterest board for interiors and when I move, the color palette that I thought it was will be the theme of my bedroom. It taught me to look at color stories I love in palettes differently-- even if it wouldn't look good on my face doesn't mean it wouldn't look great on my walls. (I really do regret not buying Vida, though.)

Sometimes I feel bad that I actually like the 420 palette lol. I am sure it has to do with different styles of doing makeup because I don’t tend to layer a bunch of mattes on top of each other, but I don’t have any issues with it.
Hi Angie.......I have stayed away from Melt, only because it’s a lot of color. But watching your channel for the last year I have been using more color. She’s in Parties was my first palette andI have been adding them over the last year. The Maryjane..BEAUTIFUL.I can’t wait until fall rolls around..I have the Blueprint and the pink palette as well. Also,a trick I have come up with is I don’t a primer. I just add some loose powder to my lids.Your palette and Mel’s are beautifully perfect. ....Judy D
I adore the Gemini palette! Fingers crossed you can grab it sometime. I also enjoy the day of the dead collection but not the highlight that was released. The only way I can describe it is light in weight (not color) and migrated around the face a bit. I do want to try the honeycomb highlighters eventually. Maybe it was the color that threw me off
I really recommend getting the "honeycomb" blushes. They don't look like straight up highlighters on the cheeks. They look sooo beautiful and glowy without being too overpowering❤
I want to love MELT and I have quite a few of their palettes, I am waiting on a small order now because they recently had a sale, lol. But the price point compared to the quality (at least consistent quality) does not add up for me. You are always taking a chance on the palette or watching tons of review videos. Thankfully, I know I can trust your opinion and only need to watch your videos these days. Thanks Angie! I die a little inside every time I see someone pull out Muerte. I have her sister but Muerte sold out and was canceled from my order. I haven’t even used the other one because I’m still so sick over it. If Melt was smart, they’d bring Muerte back as a limited run for spooky season. USED ones sell for exorbitant amounts. We should start a petition!
I really want the return of the the 2 2019 pallettes as I couldn't get them at the time of release and I would like to see them bring back the baby girl stack as mine is finished 😭. But agree with the top pick and gemini is really good too. I also missed the Beetle juice launch and wanted them too. I do love Melt a lot, but they need to be more consistent with the formula because they are wonderful women!
I just adore the aesthetic of Melt. I think my favorite is the Mary Jane. I don’t mind working a bit with the shimmers or just pulling in another palette.
I love melt palettes. This was fun to watch and I def need shes in parties now! My favorite is Gemini. The formula is amazing…the shimmers are to die for.
Personally, I'd love to see the gunmetal stack turned into a palette. The Mary Jane one leanes a bit olive and not true cooltoned neutral like the stack. Plus i don't really vibe with the theme and packaging. But now that they have released the mary Jane palette, I doubt that they will release the gunmetal palette, at least not any time soon.
@@sonjam2113 I mean, between the 27, rust and brunette palettes, they have quite a variety of warm neutral palettes, so I think the Mary Jane won't be their only cooltoned one. We shouldn't abandon our hopes 😅. But I think we would have to wait some time, before they'll do it.
The only Melt product I have is the Beetlejuice Waiting Room palette and I love all the colours in it EXCEPT I can not seem to get the silver to work very well. I can pick it up with a wet brush ok, but I have a hard time getting it to stick, so I guess I should try the glitter glue? Anyways, if you can get your hands on it it's definitely a fun palette especially to boost other more light palettes with.
I also would have considered the muerte and vida palettes if they came out now as I now use greens a lot and they would have been well used. Love this look on you, I didn't comment on the respective vid, but I'm saying it now! :)
One thing I did want to say that I was annoyed with is that I love the Gemini palette like crazy. Especially the greens, and so I was excited when I heard that Kaleidos had a dupe/similar one in Sci Fi green. So last Black Friday I was so excited to purchase it only to find out that now they have officially discontinued that one. I really enjoy Kaleidos formula and I am scared when traveling with Melt palettes since they are so fragile, so thought it would be easy to have similar greens on the go. Now even Gemini is constantly sold out. I am always worried if anything happens to it, I wont even be able to get a replacement.
I know you don't prefer neutrals, but the Rust palette is fabulous. Rust and Gemini are my two favorites so far. I am a clown and I have collected all the palettes. I am just missing the Brunet palette. Waiting for a sale.
I love Melt and have a lot of their palettes, including the entire Beetlejuice collection. The smoke sessions palette is one of my favourites. Mind you, the green shimmer in the Mexican Day of the Dead collection - Vida, is almost perfection. It is sooooo good. ♥️

Talking about vida palette...well, pigmentation is awesome but shades are not longlasting even on the base shadow. I was disappointed by that. But in love with The waiting room and She's in parties. As for red twenty eight is closer to red stack. I also love their lipsticks. Unfortunately, Ebony lipstick lost it sponge somewhere on the bottom of the bottle one or 2 years later(
I seriously can't wait for you to get the Gemini pallet and try that one, that is the good formula,that is green's done in melts good formula and I don't think you get better than a good melt formula. I hope you get the opportunity to try it
The only palette I have from Melt is their Twenty-seven eyeshadow palette...I'm not as nuanced with my color descriptions as you, but I thought that one was a predominately red-leaning palette. It's a little more mauve-y than true red (as per the product description), but it's mostly mattes with only two shimmers! I guess the more I look at it, the less red and more warm-neutral it seems haha...the shade Moxie is stunning though!!
funny thing is, i had no problem with the 420 😅 even not with blending and i blended from dark to light and even used the shimmer. sometimes its strange
I absolutely love Melt cosmetics. Melt packaging is stunning. The first palette I purchase was the Gemini palette when it was first released and I never looked back. My favourite melt is the Muerte palette, Gemini and the Bettle Juice Colllection. My least is Millennial Pinx palette.
I think Melts Impulsive palette is my absolute favorite. The mattes are amazing 🤩 the shimmers are spectacular 🤩 If you can somehow get ahold of it you won't be disappointed 🎉😍🥳😍🎉

I love Melt cosmetics ranking videos! I was sure you also had the “Waiting Room” palette. I was so surprised that before I used the Beetlejuice palettes, I was so excited for the Recently Deceased but when they arrived I fell in love with the Waiting Room palette.
