You don't have to defeat the puzzle, you can ignore that room and continue.

@@pinkgeerough Oh... i didnt know that... 🙃 i thought it was the challenge for this floor... also, the bomb blob, is it a prize you get or you have a very low chance to get a egg as a drop in a battle?

Time during puzzle now stops yay! And bomb is 2% egg chance from battles like other blobs

@@pinkgeerough i did that, put in food, but now the mayor is gone and in his seat but i get no actions after i put in the food... i talked to the mayor but he just seems to be talking to the person next to him..

That's odd. Mayor is next to pot before you start event. Maybe you accidentally started it without puting in food first?

@@pinkgeerough after seeing the event again an ingame year later, that seems to have been the case. appreciate the help though.
