Ranking ALL Resident Evil SPIN OFF Games! 

Code Veronica isn't a spin off title. It moves the mainline story forward and sets the scene for Wesker's return. It is greater in length than any of the Resident Evil games that came before it and this would be the case until 2005 when RE4 came out.

For sure Resident Evil Code Veronica was the best game of the spin-offs! I grew up in the 90's too, so I definitely fall into the same category as you. It's crazy to think what little advancement has been made in gaming in the past 15 years compared to the 15 years from 1985-2000. The movement in technology from that period is triple what it has been in the past 15 years.

I actually loved Operation Raccoon City. Revelations 2 is my favorite spinoff. I enjoyed playing as Berry and Claire again. Moira was a great character, too, and Alex Wesker was one of the better villains. Operation Raccoon City was challenging in ways the other Resident Evil games aren't. I loved the Special Ops DLC so much, too. I really love the music from the start menu in O.R.C.

Great list, but I was kinda bummed you weren’t able to rank mercenaries 3D. It’s a great handheld game for short little gaming sessions. There’s no “story” mode but the maps are all really fun and play well.

Honestly I would interested in seeing some of the older graphics get an RE Engine remake. Like RE4R just felt amazing and coupled well with the original.

Rev 2 has excellent combat mechanics and better storytelling than Rev 1 IMO; however, the latter has best soundtrack in the series not to mention I loved the character development of Raymond, Parker and Jessica as storytelling went on. Both are absolutely S tier....

Wait, Code Veronica is a spin off title? That doesn't make sense, it's directly intertwined with the main story of Resident Evil. Re0 is a direct prequel to Re1 which leads to both Re2 and Re3, Re2 directly finishes Claire's story. Not a spin off if anything Re4 more likely fits the spin off category narratively if not for Re5.

I finally played code Veronica the other day and it was so wonky compared to what I'm used to. All I really play the most is Revelations RAID mode.

I know imma get slapped for saying this but although ORC story mode was pure crap, in my humble opinion the MP mode was fire. Can't help but feel like it was meant to be played multi only and it is one of my favorite RE MP games. It was fun and pretty balanced too actually. Classes added a great depth and remember breaking tons of sweat on competitive matches.
