I actually have those they aren’t exactly globles but can stick to the roof and usually gets stuck for a large period of time and looses all the air in within a werk
As a mildly OCD person, the sticky fidgets and slime toys are a no-can-do. I'd be obsessing over all the bits of dust and junk they catch rather than finding them relaxing.
My daughter and I ordered your "not another crap box" and can not wait to get crafting!! We promise to share our little chonks of goodness with you when we're finished! You really are the best. We sincerely hope that you are recovering well.
I just wanted to clairify something- The puzzle cube: i got one a few years ago and HATED it at first because i could not figure it out. But once i did, i did it so many times I memorized it, and it became such and mindless thing for me and i loved the feeling of putting in the last peice so much that it became one of my favorite fidgets! Once you figure it out, do it a few times to memorize it, and THEN it gets good!
Fun Story: I had a little water dino when I was a kid. We were on the boat and I dropped it in the lake. I spent the rest of the day in a panic that it was going to grow forever and destroy the lake. 😆
This video made me so happy! I’m an adult with sensory regulation, and I use fidgets to stop self harm behaviors. I’ve only ever seen kids making these kinds of videos. I feel much more normal when I see other adults who use and enjoy fidgets. Thank you!
The best fidgets are ones that can be used both mindlessly and as a puzzle or activity. Use it mindlessly when you're in class or something and then complete the puzzle during a movie. The downside of that one is that it's not teeny so I can't put it in my tiny girl pockets and carry it around
This is such a great idea! I love it! 💙 Most of my other favorites not mentioned in this video, like thinking putty, wouldn't be great for sharing around with multiple people, but I *have* to recommend zipper bracelets - they are inexpensive and completely hit the spot for my nervous fidgets! They get even better with use, too.
Not me but my Dad never got diagnosed with ADHD, but he always suspected he had it, as with me. We could never give him anything that could easily tear, be it paper or the really flimsy coasters you get at restaurants, he would tear it up into perfect little squares then line them up as he talked. Sometimes my mom would catch him tearing up a list she handed him and it usually went like this. "Is that the shopping list you are tearing up?" *Dad stops mid-tear"..... ah.... um.... here" *hands it back*
some of the fidget toys you didn't like as much, are not geared so much as fidget as they are sensory or occupational therapy toys; hence why they didn't "fidget" as well and required more focus and attention. so yes, they did fail as fidget toys, but they are generally used for another purpose that is not just "mindless" fidget.
As a child I was always allowed to have a "doodling book" with me in class, because I could focus on the teacher way more while doodling random stuff into the book instead of just having to listen. The problem then was that other children often didn't understand and just thought I got privileges and didn't have to pay attention. A fidget toy would have been great then.
I make paper stars (Asian style folded strips of paper) as my fidget. In middle school I would literally cut lined writing paper strip by strip, but in high school I started carrying around a tin of actual star paper and saving the stars. Now I have a galaxy of jars of stars on a shelf in my room. I can remember what period in my life I was working on the different types of paper, and it's actually pretty cool to like fully remember different moments in my life based off the patterns. During the actual stim, it also makes an excellent conversation piece about what the heck I'm doing and how the heck I'm doing that.
i do this too! not as much now since we've been in lockdown for a while but every time i got bored in class i'd use some scrap piece of paper to make paper ninja stars
Suggestion because I used to do this as well: I would write something positive on the paper before folding them and either leave them for people to open (with a arrow that says open me lol) or save them to open later or even give as a gift to people. It’s good for a little pick me up to read something kind when your not feeling well. It also helped a lot of my friends
As someone with autism, adhd, and so many others I’ve been searching for some sensory toys to help me so if there’s anyone I trust for reviews it’s definitely Jackie
I'm playing my scales up and down, mostly on a pen/pencil pretending it was a flute or clarinet or with my fingers on a table or my thighs as if i would play a piano. It drove my teachers crazy. Since I do this for a long times, my scales are pretty decent now. 😉
I really appreciate when youtubers do these comprehensive reviews. You can tell it took a lot of money, time and effort, and not only is it satisfying to watch, it's also a really great resource!
For the "fidget cube" remote control thing, I don't think that top button is actually broken--the different buttons are supposed to have different levels of tactile response/resistance!
I have a rare collection of channels and its something special when i find out they are Canadian. I'm not saying I do not enjoy American youtubers its just that there are so few Canadian comparatively.
The BB8 looking ball is called a puzzle ball. You are supposed to try and put the balls into the circle of the same color. And when you are done doing that, you can mix it up again. Also, the white circle is supposed to be empty.😄
She hardly does any crafting or art anymore. She seems to favor resin projects only. I think she should start getting away from craft kit reviews, which are more geared for children and start crafting again. All of those art supplies purchased in Japan should be used not stored!!!
I’ve seen loads of those infinity cube digit toys with pictures printed on each “side” that as you flip it form full images. Pretty neat, she could do something like that.
Also if you spin them around really fast while they're extended they make this really cool sound lol. I want to get some now just cuz I used to play with something like this when I was younger.
My brother has a vocal stim I have only heard about. You see he's a cook well I guess he's still a student. Anyways since my brother is doing a lot with his hands he can't stim with his hand. So he has a vocal stim where he just goes "miserable" over and over.
As an Autistic folk i am finally glad i find someone reviewing these honestly and yeah the sticky balls are dissapointing , i had one with gudetama inside. it met an very unfortunate end.
I have an infinity cube and a fidget cube (the one that looks like a remote, but in cube form). I use them to occupy my hands while I read a book (because otherwise I peel skin off my feet and fingers until I bleed). I like the fidget cube best because it has 6 different sides, so my hands don't get bored. :)
14:00 Jackie: Prove me it's not just politics in space! Me: First trilogy was western in space, prelogy was politics in space, postlogy was Hercules in space. Questions? Oh also, to quote Dan Avidan: "They're movies about space wizards!" Happy to help :')
that white ball with the small balls you could push around inside it could actually be used as a puzzle as well ( you can match the color rings with the same colored ball) )
When you smacked the squishy kitties tummy, I laughed so loud I woke my sleeping husband, dogs and cats. Thanks for the laughs. Hope you are recovering well.
This has to be one of the most entertaining videos I’ve watched recently. A couple minutes in and I hit the subscribe. I have or have had a few of these, most recently was the infinity cube which is so relaxing. I have a light plastic one, but it has a galaxy color, I’m curious to order more that might have a different weight/sound. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos
29:10 Fun story: I bought 30 of those stretchy chickens for a secret Santa and there are now many stuck on the band class ceiling. I guarantee they do slingshot. It did take a few tries to nail the technique and you have to pinch the back of the body, not the tail, but they are really fun once you get the hang of it
The “transformer pokey toy”, also know as a “snake” is supposed to be something you can turn into fun shapes when you’re bored like for example: A dog, giraffe, heart, diamond, stairs, etc Though they are not supposed to be that sharp, I think yours is a bit faulty TwT
Yes, I used to have a bigger (and, obviously, much less sharper) version of this one as a kid. There were ALL kind of things a bored child could do with it, and I loved it. I think it's more of an education\creativity toy, not a fidgeting gadget per se.
I have a classic Rubiks Snake, that was either my dad's or my uncles. It even still has the little booklet that shows you what shapes you can make with it 😁
31:43 omg this is so nostalgic!! we used to get these as kids at school! we had this thing called privilege tickets where if you saved up, at the end of the week you could buy things with them! we loved these along with the plastic slinkies we would buy! (not to forget the slap bracelets)
The stretchy unicorn things are like what my son uses for deep sensory pressure, if you wrap them around your wrist it should push on your pressure points and give of a deep pressure feeing x
The one with the two colored 'lavas' reminds me of a pencil sharpener I had years ago that was green with a blue liquid it that was also meant to mimic a lava lamp. I loved to shake it till the 'lava' was evenly dispersed over the whole sharpener and watch as it all slowly settled to the bottom.
The infinite cube for some reason reminds me of hexaflexagons, if anyone wants to then feel free to google em, they're these little diy hexagon things that you make out of paper that essentially flip themselves inside out, its really satisfying and you can customise it and everything
With the space ball, the aim is to get the balls into the right Color’s! Also can we just appreciate everything she does for us🥰And how much money she spends🥰❤️
i play with bluetack. stopped doing that when my fingers started sticking to everything and the stuff got under my nails though. now i just break things on accident i get my hands on
i struggle with numbness due to sensory overload and panic disorder, i push on a pressure point between my thumb and forefinger. not really a fidget, but a way to feel. but, i do do a sorta surfer dude stim, i also like to suck on stuff
At exactly 32:00 I learned something new. In my 27 years I NEVER knew how to use that toy 😅. Got it a lot as a kid and I didn’t understand it so I thought you just spun the things around in a circle… that makes so much more sense!!
When I was a little grain I use to pop those little bubble on the drink lid in & out. Okay, who else here broke many many water slinkees? I have broke a million of those things as little grain. Luckily my AD has gotten better as an adult.
I discovered the infinite cube yesterday and I'm equally as obsessed. There's a aluminum one on Amazon that I'm thinking about buying right now. I think with the added weight it would be even more satisfying.
