An excellent weapon you wouldn't expect is the fungus encrusted pickaxe, which drops from miners in the sunless skein. Fully upgraded it scales with an A- in both radiance and inferno, deals a lot of wither damage AND has 150 poison buildup natively. Dual wield them, buff them with umbral weapon and you'll deal massive wither damage while the poison ticks converts the wither damage into real damage. Absolutely disgusting.
Yep, I've got two level 10 fungus pickaxes. Iirc they get s scaling at level 10. I run the bloodbane ring so all poison build up also does bleed buildup simultaneously. It's great fun!
Heads up, if yall get the Atrophy pendant, it allows you to use your health to cast umbral spells instead of mana. Each time you use a umbral spell you take a little bit of wither damage, that health you get right back when the spell its the target. So essentially it allows you to infinte cast
Personally, I'd put Latimer at #1, but that's only because of how it makes the umbral caster build viable alongside the pendant of atrophy. Using umbral sorceries without the pendant of atrophy, Barrage is definitely #1. A tip for anyone using Latimer (and Barrage): don't lock on. Aim at the ground for nearby enemies. Latimer also has extraordinary range and knockback, so you can knock bucketheads off the perch from a mile away. Oh, and Latimer's AoE pierces walls. But if you wanna be an umbral build, Latimer absolutely IS your primary weapon. It'll always refund all your atrophy wither health, even if you've been dumb and spent 100% of your health. Forget using your melee weapons: I run double bloodlust plus lifesteal runes because the swords and runes apply to sorcery kills. Being in the Umbral is like being surrounded by health packs, and the spear will usually oneshot smaller enemies if you've been upgrading your catalyst. In coop, you are a mobile tactical nuke. For anything of moderate health... barrage under their feet and watch their health chunk. It is the highest DPS spell in the entire game. Bosses take seconds, even in NG+. You just gotta not lock on.
What would your build be built around this advice? I love hopping on and helping players clear levels and this sounds like a great way to do that Thanks for sharing!
@@TheRockCreature To be honest, the entire build is literally just Latimer's Javelin, Barrage of Echoes, and Pendant of Atrophy. I'd recommend getting rad & inf to 25 to start out, then just distribute your levels between rad, inf, vit, and end. Wear heavy armor, use the Achorite's ring, probably the Barrage Root ring too. Basically any catalyst will work but I use Lost Berescu. Use bloodlust or the runes that give you hp on kill or any weapon that gives a passive effect, because you won't be using it. And that's it. Sit back, disregard mana, disregard lock-on, and throw spears. On bosses or large enemies, use barrage on their feet. It is, quite literally, the simplest build in the entire game.
@@tristanward9937Pendant of Atrophy lets you take wither damage to cast umbral spells when you have no mana. The thing is, dealing damage heals withered health, meaning throwing a javelin will instantly refund the tiny health cost. You have literally infinite javelins.
This guys an idiot and doesnt know wtf hes talking about. Wither is literally the strongest thing in this game with the most utility. The game is very mucb designed around it.
@@SpliffyHusk Even better, the mist is an aoe denile or aura like the radiant heal. It gurantees whatever comes next if they pursue will hurt and the crazy thing is u can spam it long enough you can force people in it. Along with that misery missle is the best missle hands down for a ticking poison like wither that can straight up kill someone based on spellpower people dont know how much dmg they take off beat with it. To add the ice shard spell that cost 80 is the best bait in game for pvp if not crowd control for umbral. If people have the mind to rush u you can spam 2 with decent spell power and if they attack u they will guranteed die. It also has decent range just to give u time to rotate spells like misery of fog. The best part of fog and mist is they smokescreen what ur doing and someone dodging from the ice wont see missle. All that said lets add to the amount of items umbral builds get. My fav being the spawn orbs on kill for best aoe damage or the use withered health for casting for spell spam. Very op class that people def are not playing right. The only struggle i have is to radiant spammers with lag unless iylts 1v1 and they have a one shot spell i dont dodge.
Even saying it can be great in coop....it IS great in 1v2 because it has the best aoe and crowd control along with spammable bait burst spells. You people are playing this class wrong asf.
If you move your camera down to a Birds Eye view when casting. Barrage of echoes it will go behind the enemy and every ball will land and does tons of damage
I just thought of something. You could use “lingering despair” and the umbral eye that “plants a mine down on enemies killed inflicting wither” and like, daggers or the reaper withered swords to finish them and get the hits in first for withered caltrops rogue build
Thanks for this, as i am running an umbral magic build, this class of magic is crazy, really great damage. I neverneven thought to pair poisoning with Umbral 😅
I could be wrong but i think umbral weapon adds frostbite too. It feels like when i use it on rosamund sword the procs happen way more often. I think same applies for smite and burn with radiant and infernal weapon
Does Rosamund's Sword not count as a weapon option? It scales across all four stats, but primarily Radiance/Inferno, and inflicts frostbite. Damn good weapon.
It looks meh, and weapons in this game gets old very quick due to their boring movesets, better off with something more fun, since the majority of your dmg come from spell anyway
@@nihan8554meh? That is the only weapon in my inventory that surpassed the Holy Lightsaber. Adding an umbral weapon means the wither damage is crazy but it causes frostbite after like two hits so they lose all that health. That weapon is a monster.
@@tristanward9937 I’m not talking about the dmg output, I’m talking about its look and it really doesn't do anything special like most of the weapons in this game
Misery missile and diminishing missile have throwing weapon counterparts, being the umbral burrower and accusing spirit, respectively. Their effects are identical, as far as i can tell.
This is off topic but I really wish this game got more recognition. Everyone’s always saying Elden Ring this Elden Ring that. Ok yea it’s a good game but it’s extremely overrated. Lord’s of the Fallen is the only Souls like game that ever caught my attention. I tried the Lies of P demo but was like ehhh it’s cool and all but I’m not gonna put time into this game. Lords of the Fallen is underrated and in my opinion has cooler stuff than Elden Ring.
The problem this game need you to have high end PC. In today situation not every PC gamer want to purchase over expensive GPU and CPU for Unreal engine 5. Even so this game has a lot of performance problem on high end PC and console. If you have limited budget of course you choose to buy elden ring from a famous developer. Elden ring also has better level design, enemies variety, better bosses fight, longer gameplay and better optimitization (elden ring can run in minimum 4th generation CPU and gpu with 4 gb of VRAM).
Any spell and weapon with Frost Status build-up is nice for Stance breaking... Now where do you get spells with Frost Status build-up, I wonder? So if you wonder how you get the time for Blood Harvest or Pestilent Blade... Or to hit with Martyrdom properly...
Lobed the video really gpnna help me settle fpr what to go for gor my umbral build! You cpuld kind of go for a similar video for weapons and do some tierlist foe like raidance weapons, inferno and so on
Pestilent blade is at the bottom of the list for me, for the sole reason that its description states that you use a rapier, except you're obviously using a curved sword. If it actually used a rapier, it might actually be an okay spell since it'd be stabby instead of slashy.
The lack of weapon type in this game is crazy, most of them just do the same thing. I was so hyped for the pestilent blade because of its description, but turned out it was another lame ass spell.
How do you use umbral spells at level 1? Since the lowest non-endgame umbral catalyst requires 12inf/12rad. Or did you mean you did a Condemned start but leveled up afterwards.
In terms of scaling, Umbral - Lost Berescu, Radiance - Exacter Scripture, Inferno - Queen Sophesia. Other catalysts might have higher raw spellpower and suit hybrid builds better, but those 3 have the highest scaling for their relevant stats at +10 ☺
Barrage of echos is disgusting at short range. Just free aim it at a targets feet and all 5 projectiles will hit as long as the enemy doesn’t dodge. And Latmier’s javelin became my mainline projectile spell as soon as I acquired it.
Should do throwing weapons. With lydias eye all the banner throwing weapons ate fkin broken op. Especially the judge banner that does pulsing dmg. I can close off entire sections of the game and makes invading pretty funny
LOTF NEEDS NEXUS MODS! Modding should come to PC and consoles. This way, modders could make tons of exciting mods giving players the ability to ''customize'' their experience. For example, creators would be able to make a mod that puts a cheat menu in the game. Opens the door for all kinds of possibilities to really experiment with the game. One hit kills, invincible, unlimited magic etc. LOTF would be many times more fun and exciting!!! Or a mod allowing manual saves, anytime, anywhere! YES BABY!!!
if u dont lock onto an enemy with barrage of echoes and aim straight down, all the ball will go under the enemy and they will all hit and do crazy dmg. it will 100% get nerfed
That list will fully depend on whether the Umbral Eye of Lydia the Numb Witch is equipped or not. If yes, Dervla‘s crossbow turns into an infinite ammo rocket launcher.
@tristanward9937 exactly that one got me too thankfully I didn't lose much but still someone who lost 100 or so levels it ain't fair to them at all or anyone who lost significant progress
@@xXLunatikxXlul yes but it doesn't matter because you can use 2 umbral eyes socket for increased healing efficiency. Eye of Rosemund gives 15% healing efficiency flat and eye of elliomond give 25% healing efficiency in umbral. bow/crossbow build does insane damage so you'll just heal everything and then umbral magic has Lavelier javelin to heal and Umbral Agony to heal endlessly.
I put misery in the A tier and had plenty of positive things to say about it. You’re salty about something and you’re just taking it out on me for some reason. I gave you a chance to educate people and you just threw it back in my face so not only are you ignorant but you’re also a dumbass. Congrats on getting the attention you were seeking.
@@tristanward9937 The fact he said decent is enough to invalidate his opinion. Strongest spells in game with dot, tracking, presence/duration, aoe, and baiting tf outta idiots that charge in because big sword. But who tf cares this guy is salty and a fckn idiot clearly.
