I am Peruvian of Chinese and Japanese ancestries myself but grouping Saudi Arabia dark horse is an insult. This team had caused Messi a humiliating start in Qatar and was responsible for Mexico's shock group stages exit since 1978, even if this team still ended up failing to advance as well. The draw made them ultimately the favourite, with Oman probably the only team to challenge Saudi Arabia directly. This is further strengthened by the pretty lame knockout draw, at least, with Saudi Arabia likely to meet only Bahrain, Jordan or Malaysia; during which they could be granted an opportunity to settle against Australia if possible, and Australia is still undergoing a restructuring of football system and is in the weakest era (despite shockingly performed well in 2022 World Cup); the semis also favoured them as they could have huge advantages against Japan due to proximity. This also meant I could only imagine Qatar, Uzbekistan and Iraq as genuine dark horses. Qatar maybe the Asian champions but they have flopped since 2022 and is on a downward spiral. Iraq is trying to rebuild. Uzbekistan is rising?

The UAE plays dirty with the help of referees, they did nothing against Kyrgyzstan, but once again bought a referee and won due to a penalty that was not there!

An Uzbekistani fan here. Eldor is a big lose apparently. However, we can make it easily without him surely bcuz of tournament bracket. No giants is gonna come out by semis there (I don’t think Qatar or Australia is giant in Asia personally believe me). The problem I have with Iraq being the dark horses is the fact that they are very very likely on getting South Korea in the round of 16. That's a really hard one to win.

Saudi Arabia isn't dark horse. It's a giant of Asian football. It can't be grouped like this. The UAE, Uzbekistan, Oman, Iraq and Qatar are pretty likely to be among the dark horse.

Iraq is asian giant .. UAE and uzbek are strong teams , but we are better Saudi Arabia and Iran are not much better than Iraq. We play the Asian Cup better than them in the last 25 years. The only thing that makes them slightly better than us is their continued qualification for the World Cup. I am sure that they would not qualify if they were facing a ban from playing in their stadiums. It is very difficult to qualify for the World Cup when you play all the qualifying matches outside your home country, like the Iraqi team. But after the ban ended and we returned to playing the World Cup qualifiers in Iraq for the first time I can confirm that qualifying for the World Cup in America will be easy for Iraq. Especially with the increase in the number of Asian seats to 8 . As for the current Asian Cup, I am not very excited We are with Japan in the group and our potential opponent in the round of 16 is Korea I would like a surprise, but it will be difficult
