Um, but, rheumatologists aren't real. ;) Neither are allergists/immunologists. I only wish I was kidding, but I think that videos like this one only help to ensure that those of us who desperately need one of these specialties never, ever see one. Because, they don't exist.

Hey i'm an VietNamese junior Physician working at Cardiology and I really agree with you about Internist part, hahaha , LOL. It makes us tired of those sucking Percent number. Every issues , problems, diagnosis must be associated with numbers or Trials. And of course, It's a nightmare when we have a project with the Dean to discuss about cases in the department.

Someone initially told me you were serious, hence i came to check out the video. Then once i saw how much you love surgery, i knew you were joking, because who could ever love surgery and the surgery life 😂 it’s the worst specialty lol we need surgeons definitely but it’s not a life friendly career, even the “best” surgery specialties. Big hard pass on that career 😅 On a serious note, love your content. I’m applying to residency this year and your insight is always so helpful and transparent and honest, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates it. Keep up the good work doc 🥳

That is probably the best 9 to 5 speciality there is. Sadly Ophthalmologists are not considered to be "real" doctors by other specialities.

To clear a common misconception, surgeons don't yell at anesthesiologist, at least in the U.S. I have never heard a surgeon yelling at an anesthesiologist. I'm not sure when or where you did your training...just saying.

I did read a study once that stated that if you needed plastic surgery, of all the countries in the entire world, you are best to be in the US. There are people around the world who try to get here to save their face or body and create complete perfection. We are number one. But if you need internal medicine of any variety, you know those terrible, pesky, life killing internal diseases or disorders, we are bottom of the list. In the entire world, we are dead last at the bottom. This may be why in five years, though I desperately need one, and my body is literally destroying itself from the inside (yes, I have the lab work, and yes, I have the symptomology), I have still yet to see a rheumatologist. They all seem to work privately, not take insurance, and ensure Mable and Harold get their "creaky knees" looked at for the one hundredth time. I know your videos are comical, but this is a real, huge, terrible, terrifying problem. We need to encourage physicians, or even demand physicians, to fill out these other specialties and do them very well. I mean, I'm glad someone will sow my nose back on in perfection in this country in five seconds flat. But what's a nose on my face if my body is sick on the inside?

A lot of cardiothoracic procedures involve fixing blood flow. CT surgeons can crack open a chest and reattach a different artery to bypass a clot or intervene to stop a bleed. Interventional cardiologists or radiologists can pass a long wire through another artery like in the groin, advance it to a site of injury and either place a stent to open a vessel or zap a spot to stop bleeding.

@@raulandresfloresmoya4115 I liked interventional, but there was more work for me as a neuroradiologist. The fun thing about interventional is that it is more social. There are nurses, and techs, and residents and fellows, and frequent interactions with the other services. Neuroradiology is more solitary: most of the time goes for reading CT & MRI of brain and spine. The brain is the most interesting thing. The downside of interventional radiology is a lot of call, and unpredictable hours. Interventional was fun as a young guy to be running around all the time doing procedures. Neuroradiology is good for an older guy to spend most in one area, reading brain & spine MRI's.
