I felt the same way about Book Lovers. Ended up listening to it in audiobook and it marginally got better. Definitely still probably the slowest paced out of all of them.
yesss totally agree, definitely felt the pacing was slower!!! And listening to it on audiobook is such a good idea, I think I’ll do that & maybe I’ll like it better the second time around!
I agree with you that Book Lovers has to be rated the lowest bc it was soooo boring and the guy (whose name I don’t remember) was the worst of Emily Henry’s guys. I would rate them like this: 1- people we meet on vacation 2- funny story 3- beach read 4- Happy place (although there was a scene on this book that has remained with me since I read the book and made the book 100 times better) 5- book lovers Can’t wait for her to keep writing more!
omg yes love this ranking!!! and I can't wait for her to write more too! I feel like that's when you know an author's writing is good is when everyone has different rankings/ratings!!
I just came across your channel. New Sub!! I love your videos, I’ve been finding excuses to not read but your channel is motivating me to. Are there any books that you would recommend similar to the hunger games or just something not as intense??
Omg TYSM!!! And yes definitely!!! I would recommend the serpent and the wings of night series by carissa Broadbent-it has the same tournament feel as the hunger games but focuses more on fantasy & romance rather than political commentary! The throne of glass series is one of my favorites too. And for the dystopian vibes, I’d recommend the scythe series!
do all of these books have sex scenes? like i rly want to read them but im way too young to be reading spicy scenes and j don’t want to. is it possible to skip over them in these books? especially happy place and funny story
they don't have super detailed spicy scenes, it's more of just a fade to black!! and there's not many at all. so I definitely think you can skip without missing any parts of the story!
I’m shocked you liked happy place so much 😭 It was solidly mediocre to me compared to her others. I really wanted to get into it though. Book Lovers was her worst by far to me though 😬
Unpopular opinion but I absolutely HATE Emily Henry books. 1. The characters never have any chemistry 2. She writes whole chapters about things that could’ve been said in 2 sentences 3. She’s a problematic person
