Sorry mate but can't believe you marked Forest as catastrophic! That's one of the best logos there is in the whole of sport. It has all the modern standards clubs dream for in a logo & was made over 50+ years ago! Completely iconic
I don’t like it at all not bc it looks like a 10 year old created it. It’s so simple and for a club like Nottingham and the history of the area, could be much much better
Everton is my club so I know I’m biased, but I think our crest is one of the better ones. I love the Everton lock up and having a jail as the main symbol is undeniably cool
😂 I was born and raised in Norfolk around many Canaries supporters (Norwich City FC). The logo is based on a breed of small bird called a canary. The Norwich canary is bright yellow with green. The males sing beautifully. My school friend’s dad used to breed them. Perhaps not the nicest colour combo for a football team but certainly striking! (Just don’t mention Ipswich Town FC. The rivalry is strong!) 🇬🇧
A few things as a Wolves fan, in which, of course you guys are our biggest rivals: 1. I think the West Midlands badges are all pretty class. At the very least to great. 2. I’m fairly certain Wolves are the only club in the 92 that have a hexagon as the outline to their badge. 3. I don’t think I saw Liverpool? Maybe I just completely missed them. 4. Hope you lot get promoted so we can have a Black Country Derby in the Prem again.
As an American you should be a Sunderland fan over Newcastle. Our colours come from the Washington family crest due to George Washington’s coming from Sunderland originally and even taking the name of the village of Washington in the City of Sunderland. Also, that’s the reason for the colours of the US being red and white. However, not sure about the blue part
Norwich has since changed its badge. I don't think you'd like the new version if you didn't like the old. But you know what? Surrounded by all those other badges, the one that stands out to me is the yellow and green canary.
I'd like to see your opinions on anything like food, music, movies, sports etc. If you get down to it there are almost limitless tier lists you could make.
A visit to Liverpool would be interesting next time you’re in the UK. Family interests (fan base) are strong Liverpool teams. Arnesal isn’t too bad but I agree the simple ones. Aussies also call English football “soccer”. As for Australian football (known as Aussie rules, the final series begin next week, there will be crowds of 50,000 to 100,000 (especially the later when the games are played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The highest crowd there was 121,000 in 1970. With redeveloping the ground etc, the crowd could be 105,000 for the grand final in a months time.
As a Wolverhampton fan, I'm glad to see that even a rival fan can acknowledge a cool crest. :) I'm only a recent convert, only started following the Premier League last year, but had to pick a team, and the Wolves were my choice. Gotta stick with those Wanderers till death now. Edit: Next time, you should rank their home and away uniform colors
My home city club plymouth argyle has a big connection to the US and their founding pilgrim fathers with its logo. It has a mayflower named main stand as well. Nickname is the pilgrims and the team runs out to the us marines march "semper fidelis". I believe boston united are also known as the pilgrims and have links to the US as well, as the pilgrim fathers originated from there. We are unique as there is only one "argyle". Some of our earliest history is linked with the staffordshire footie playing regiments who were based down here in the late 1800s. Unfortunately plymouth is the only major city in the uk to never experience tier one football in its history due to the lack of industry and finance down here in the far off south west. Agree our badge isnt that good tbf. It used to be better when it incorporated the plymouth city crest within it.
i generally agree with the ranking. for me Sunderland goes to good, Leichester City goes to great, Wolverhampton to meh, Arsenal also goes to good (i have my bias as i am an arsenal fan) and i would put dorking to meh. Anyways keep going with football related content, i really enjoy it!
Up Kidder !!! Hahaha the K H FC is Kidderminster Harriers. Smaller club from Worcestershire. One of my mom's best friend's husband was their director for a while till he retired.
The value and impact of aesthetics should not be overestimated when concerning humans. That being said I'm an American who is a Liverpool fan and I agree lol. If VTH is a hockey fan like me I'd like to see him review NHL logos.
I’m more of an international football guy. But I like Southampton FC logo because of the history and because it’s my other club with Man U. I agree with your great though. Everything else after them is indeed under those logos.
I'd say we've seen a recent trend of oversimplification of team badges from unique designs into indistinguishable and interchangeable circular badges attempting to mimic Man City and overmodernize. Works for some, others it just feels boring and corporate template esc. Take a look at Yeovil Towns recent change as an example HITC Sevens did a great video on this topic (can never forgive Liverpool getting meh)
Your third in Catastrophic is MK Dons. Have to say I love the Blackburn badge, and how very dare you put Spurs aka Nandos FC above Arsenal haha. I would disagree on many but it was good to see your opinions. Wolves is definitely one of the best. I'd have Palace in great myself, always loved their logo.
As an Arsenal fan, I have to agree. Our old crest was much better, but the club couldn't claim copyright on it, and in the modern age, graphic design has tended to shift towards the minimalistic. I still believe they should have at least kept the cannon facing to the left, as it always had done traditionally, but oh well lol
Best Club Logo-- Arsenal! Yes, I am biased haha #Gooner4Life In all seriousness, it's a solid list. I don't like Nottingham Forest's either. Aston Villa is great and I will admit, Chelsea has a great shield. I do have a Man City jersey and I will also admit-- I love it haha great shield.
I've always found it strange that the badges or logos are minimally displayed on the actual jerseys. The logo of the airline or company is most prominently displayed. Given the significance placed on the badges it seems like it should be front and center. The jerseys appear to be billboards, however that's just my impression as an American. Perhaps there is a reason and I'm glad to be enlightened on the subject.
@@vthextra Fair, fair. It's all love for West Brom. Yes it's been a blast to see Brighton at this peak. Hopefully we'll cement ourselves as a competitive PL club and West Brom can fight their way back in. An Albion Derby is overdue!
You said at the beginning you weren’t sure how many leagues this was. This list consists of the football league - the 4 professional leagues in England - as well as the first league in “non-league” called the National League. The only team missing are Birmingham, which I’d guess is the team of whoever made it to remove some bias from their own rankings. I think your picks are mostly okay. As a Wigan fan I’d take a “good” as it’s not a bad badge but it’s definitely not the best either. Crewe I’d put higher but that’s because I’ve lived only a few miles away my whole life. And Manchester City’s badge leaves me very conflicted. It’s very strange seeing a place and symbol I love in the red rose (the vast majority of my ancestors were from Lancashire) connected to a club I really dislike. I know Manchester was historically part of Lancashire, but in my lifetime Manchester’s county has always been Greater Manchester, which makes Manchester City being a “Lancashire” club hard to swallow
As a Liverpool fan, I think you're too harsh on the Liverbird being too busy. The only thing keeping the Blackburn logo from being great is the color of the text. If the text was a neutral color instead of bright yellow, it's great.
Oxford United I feel is great, along with Arsenal. Tottenham (can’t use the name I call them) I put at the bottom. The logo looks like a chicken standing on a beach all The blue/yellow shield with the stag head is Mansfield Town.
Chris - I cannot forgive you for not even mentioning Sheffield Wednesday’s name when pulling us into the section below United! Great meeting you in Birmingham btw! 😂
As a USMNT fan I hate Nottingham forest for signing and benching Matt Turner and Gio Reyna. The fact that both players joined so they could play more rlly pisses me off🤦🏻♂️
As a Forest fan, I feel some sympathy for Reyna, but he's only just joined and he'll get opportunities soon. As for Turner, he makes way too many costly mistakes and his distribution is atrocious. This is the premier league and errors have to be cut out, especially for a team like ourselves fighting towards the foot of the table.
Sunderland is meh ? Are you serious ? What’s so meh about it ? Easily one of the best ones and far from basic or bland like the ones you picked for great.
