Ranking ETS2 Map DLCs from WORST to BEST | West Balkans in top 3 

What I don’t like about the West balkans is that is is pretty empty. Southern Albania is empty, Bosnia, many parts of Serbia and central Croatia too.

While Scandinavia dlc was great when it came out, it lacked villages and interesting country roads in sweden, very boring if you cruise around germany and suddenly get around Danemark. overall all dlcs are good and all steps foward compared to the previous ones, and really liked Polish roads when Going east was out, Slovakian cites were cool too. but the one who really blew me away was Iberia, cities were very detailled, impressive industries, roads, very underrated imo.

I wish they would add an extension to the scandinavia map.

Theres no worst dlc , all of them are great , i like Scandinavia and going east ,you can say they are worse coz maybe you started playing just recently, but for us the legends ,there are so much memories in going east and Scandinavia dlcd ❤

You forgot one key component of Going East which makes it the Worst: It is an essential connector in Eastern Europe, before West Balkans it was basically impossible to go from Western Europe to either the Baltics or the Balkans. That meant a huge break between well made roads and very old, unadapted roads, which breaks the immersion really. Fortunately with the Austria rework and West Balkans, that gap is bridged and Hungary can be bypassed entirely. The problem remains for the Baltics and soon to be Northern Scandinavia however. This is something that tells me that reworking Going East is quite a bigger priority than the UK, as the roads are the same, but one is isolated, the other too focal of a point.

The most amazingtake away from this is how long this game has been continually developed, improved and extended. Really huge props go out to SCS for the way that ets has evolved. It really deserves being the best seller that it is.

Very subjective list, but agree on the main points - Road to Black Sea is definititely TOP3 and Iberia is a very nice DLC, with great graphics comparing the the older parts, but a bit boring to drive, which is not the fault of SCS, its reality - lot of highways used for trucks, there :) So my list: 1. West Balkans DLC - needs some polishing, optimalization, but IMO the best looking and most importantly - funny to drive 2. Road to Black sea - still very good graphics, nice mix of cities and country roads, Balkan vibes there. And - Istanbul. Bit overkill for the ETS, but I would appreciate if more cities will look like this one (with smaller size on map) 3. Iberia - bit boring to drive, but the graphics is great (considering the SCS standard) and also, the scenery - from the green northern Spain to Almeria desert 4. Scandinavia.... old but gold :) It needs just a small revamp - textures, vegetations, few new building.

I bought Road to The Black Sea DLC, but forgot that Going East was also needed, so now there's a huge void of nothingness where Hungary should be. =) And I can't drive to these countries, because of the empty map.

I was playing this game before Going East DLC was released. It needs rework as soon as possible.

I think RttBS is a bit overrated. The road density is very low, and it even lacks some major roads such as a crucial segment of DN2 in Romania that links the south and north of the country, or the landmark Transfagarasan road. What the DLC does include is very well made, but there's also a lot of wasted potential.

I did'nt expect that my home country along with my neigboring countries. To be the best dlc, Just because it's so old. But i think both Denmark, Norway and Sweden are underrated countries to travel to.

Iberia DLC is 100% not over-priced. It is the most gorgeous DLC with the most varied textures. A problem with it is that it isn't as well optimized as the ones that came before, so that beauty came with a decrease in performance. But I wouldn't say any of SCS's products are or have ever been over-priced, you get very good value with each new DLC and the pricing has remained consistent, while the quality gets better and better.

West Balkans is a great addition to the ETS 2 map dlc's. My only gripe about it is there are too many border checkpoints especially cross country deliveries!

Still worth to buy all. It'll rebuild in times that what SCS loves. ETS2 still got a long way to be 100% finished. But in my eyes there plenty of headroom for ETS2 as ETS3 won't be needed if new Engine succeed for ETS2! And they're working on that. Hope it does succeed to matching specs requirement of PC too. This is why I loved ETS2 is can go on forever I'd believed it can go on for another 20 years! That's what makes ETS2 is one of the best trucking games in the world. There plenty of works left. Always still updating since 2012! I've seen the changed and it had changed a hell a lot's if compared them 2012 to what it is now ;)

Here's my list: 8: skandinavia (It looks really cool, but I honestly never really drive there) 7: Italia (very similar situation to skandinavia but the terrain just looks nicer) 6: Road to the black sea (I think its cool but yet again I almost don't drive there. The only reason it's so high is becouse of the west balkans) 5: Going east (I think its just the standard it might not look the best, but I really don't care that much about the map anyways) 4: West balkans (Its the most recent one, so it looks the best and it gives a nice vibe. Its the only dlc, that I don't have yet) 3: Iberia (I looks the best in my opinion, but Its a bit laggy) 2 baltic sea (It looks nice and it gives off the polish vibe and I'm from there) 1: via la france (I drive there the most and I literally can't imagine playing without it)

Why did you add photos from mods or Going east and previews from trailers to the WB?

Hmm I disagree with 7th place (specifically cause I live there) I think Italy is actually pretty accurate for the most part and I was really happy when they released Sardinia too My overall ranking is: 7. Going East 6. Scandinavia 5. France 4. Italy 3. Beyond the Baltic Sea 2. Road to the Black Sea 1. Iberia (Haha I still haven't played in the Balkans, but soon I'm going to)

When you buy a dlc is it connected to the map that’s free?

You are really blind if you put Italia on the second last place. It's one of the best DLC that has been released up to now

I dont like how they modeled croatia... For example Zadar is for me a 3/10 (i dont like Zadar in ETS2), Rijeka looks ok, like a 6,5/10 and Dubrovnik is good but i think there has to be the old town at least in the background so its a 8/10, Pula is like a 6/10.. The problem is, these are the best cities in croatia in ets2. The other ones like Sl. Brod or Zagreb etc. don't look realistic or even nice. It would be nice too if they'd add just ONE croatian island. I know there is an easter egg (Krk) but even this easter egg isnt something special, because you can only drive on the bridge - The bridge is for me a 10/10, of course irl its bigger etc. but i dont expect more then ETS2 gave us. - but you cant even go to the town "KRK". There is only the bridge, then you have to make a u turn and thats all! They should also add some more trees like palm trees or the "mediterranean pinus" in croatia, bcs irl there are lots of them, but in ets2 there arent not that much; what they did gut, is the actual vegetation, but how I said, some palm trees and the "mediterranean pinus" would be good. I like ETS2, but they just have to rework some parts of the map, like czech, slovakia, croatia, and koper in slovenia. All in all this is a perfect video and I agree with most of here but I would give west balkans on the 6th place. Best wishes!

I bought my first dlc, which was the one from Italy, I intend to buy the dlc from Iberia and then the one from Scandinavia, I think they are all very beautiful!

im in love with west balkans as it isnt all highway like the rest of the standard countries (Germany, UK,....)

If i meet someone who are Polish, Czech, Slovakian or Hungarian and plays ETS2, their first DLC is always Going East, and Going East is really important DLC because withou that you can't go to the Lithuania or other Baltic State with Finland without buying Scandinavia DLC

If they add a ”post iron curtain” dlc involving Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and some more parts of Russia, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. They could perhaps have like a very long straight road all the way to Moscow, with some villages and smaller cities on the way. What I don’t like about the Scandinavia dlc is that it doesn’t stretch far north enough. It would be cool if they had like an expanded E4 highway that went all the way to Luleå or something. Trondheim, Norway should be featured too as well as Århus in Denmark. They could also add the Danish town of Helsingør. There is a boat that connects Helsingborg in Sweden with Helsingør. In Sweden there is counties without any cities at all. They could have added like Karlstad for Värmland and Halmstad for Halland. Gotland and Öland would also be very cool as a Swede. Would also be cool with a like ”nordic countries” dlc that added the rest of Finland, as well as Iceland and Faroe Islands. They can also add a little ”microstates” dlc that adds all the microstates. As well as like a ”mediterranean Islands dlc” which adds Malta and Cyprus. Those can be budget dlc’s though, because you wouldn’t really unlock that much land. But cool it would definitely be.

Scandinavia was my first dlc, and i think it it should be the first option to buy, cause its normally cheap and its way better than going east. Going East just looks the generic game; while any other Dlc looks way better than base game. For me Iberia is the best cause i know most of the cities and roads; i guess the region you relate more is the one you will prefer.

Do i need to purchase again the dlc after I updated the game to a newer version? Or the dlc is a one time purchase?

As many knows specially players like me ranking on trucksbook doing more than 200.000 per month its very easy to say the best and the most important dlc to have is the Italia. Because from the border to villa san giovani is 1.300km only in 2 parts we need to slow down the truck and the rest is 99 or 100km/h in 1 hour real life. So is the best DLC. After Italia is Scandinavia. Because its important from Germany border to go Uppsala. More than 1000 km too only 1 time to slow down the truck and its always 100km/h... And of course all the rest dlc's are only to complete the map and have acess to the promods server. GG.

Going to east dlc its starting to become a problem because right now if you don't have you can go to black sea dlc and west balcans and scs it's working on grece so basically 3 dlc,s can't be accessed because of one

I think that main problem with old dlc is lack оf time to work on them. SCS working on new content, new dlcs, and they don't have time for rework old dlcs. I think one time SCS should stop doing new content (because there already a lot of content, as I think), and start reworking old content.

Iberia is the best because it’s the most immesive one. It really gives the feeling of how scenery looks like through truck window. Great illusion of driving around vast land. Too many highways, maybe, but it’s true to reality. Scandinavia was great when it was released but really needs some texture update today while the going east dlc needs full redo. None of these DLC’s are overpriced while you can get them quite often on discount.

I do wish they would sort the UK though and start adding the detail they have put into West Balkans to the rest of the Map. Looking forward to seeing how the game develops though over the next few years, I think it's going to be great!

i love west balkins because you can get 8 COUNTRIES FOR THE PRICE IF 17 DOLLARS?!?! for example thats atleast 1.9 dollars / country and the price for the game is 19.99 and theres around 5 countries to start i'd say thats atleast 3.998$ / country

Scandinavia kinda seems overrated to me. Sure it was groundbreaking when it came out but similar to Going East it's just horrendously outdated. It's nice combinined with Promods tho. Also I would have ranked Italy higher. Apart from the poor job they did on updating base game northern Italy, it's pretty good. Also my 2 cents for Road to the Black sea. That was the first DLC where they really bumped up the quality. Unfortunately, especially in parts of Romania it feels like a detour DLC. Other DLCs like Iberia or even France have gotten some patches adding new roads. This would be a nice quality of life addition to road of the black sea aswell

You can maybe do ATS map expansions in the future. There is a lot of good DLC being released for that game. Oregon and Washington are a joy to drive around in

You made a mistake in Utaly, but thats alright. I thing going east is the best, because it was the first one so scs thought its the best to add.

Good thing in Beyond the baltic sea is there are no road customs.

Going east, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands really need to be reworked before anything. They are extremely outdated, more than 10 years old at this point, they just look horrific, especially the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. They use many assets from ETS 1. There's this type of big service station that is commonly found in these areas that dates back to ETS 1, it's so obvious how it was just pasted on to the map, the tarmac texture looks like something out of Minecraft. I throw up in my mouth a little every time I have to go through one of them.

They probably never been to Serbia but I have to say well done for how they made Užice (altrough it's not a city in the game) but looks 1/1

the base game of ets2 needs the most promising rework it should add new trains and new roadwork for better connectivity and one more SCS can add one more official DLC to bring Ireland and Iceland to the mix. What do you think about this Patrick Patrikios (Vutomy).

Hey Vutomy, by chance if you havent decided already. Could you make a No Promods required load order for 1.48.5. In the Promods discord they have said that they wouldn't want people to expect anything for a couple months. I'm sure other people would like a no Promods load order, thank you!

I can not agree with the Road the Black DLC. You are mainly showing parts of Turkey but when moving out of there, nature and surroundings get pretty boring in Romania and Bulgaria. It is worth for the Turkey part only. Seems that the only cared about Turkey there.

Honestly, I like every map DLC. All of them are unique and grratly expand the available terrain Except Going East, fuck that DLC (hey at least it's cheap)

I have idea for new long trip. Visit every capital city in ETS2, you can make it as timelapse. Truck - old Scania T towing HCT or the triple silo trailer (for example for wheat).

Can't it be u never was in Skandinavien? I drove thru Denmark visiting Sweden a few times and lived 7 years in Norway. And I can tell yes it's a nice DLC but it misses many stuff. Just go watch some trucker videos of Sweden and Norway and u see it not really on place one.

Tbh i disagree with that raiting. Dlcs of France and Italy yes a bit old but still looks great in my opinion unlike scandinavia and going east. If france and italy need more of cosmetic rework, nordic countries and countries from "going east" need massive overhaul. But thats my opinion and you free to disagree

For me i would do 8 Going East - poor quality, outdated 7 Scandinavia - imo only norway looks great, sweden and denmark needs rework 6 Italy - small amount of details but siciliy and sardinia makes it ok 5 France - lots of countryside roads with details. But paris and base game areas like dijon, strasbourg, metz needs rework 4 Beyond The Baltic - quite good but some areas around roads are empty 3 Road to the black sea - needs more countryside roads specially in carpathian mountains also like in beyond the baltic sea there are quite a lot of roads witch looks the same. Only plains with some trees. 2 Iberia - high amount of details but to many highways also luck of center of Madrit, huge gaps 1 West Balkans - i would give it 9,5/10. But belgrade and Zagreb is dissapoiment for me

Scandinavia in first? Tells me all I need to know about your judgment. It's been far outclassed by the newer DLCs. "Adventure"? Sure not as much adventure as running a truck with a Ukraine paint scheme through Russia! Scandinavia even still uses the vanilla prefabs for junctions in countless places, including the ones where the AI always taps the brakes in the right-hand lane. No thanks, second from the bottom, no discussion.

Neah...road to the black sea is only half baked it doesn't deserve 3rd place, for Romania they missed the important cities for the economy and most if not all the important roads and highways in the country but they invented roads where there shouldn't be any roads...they missed breath taking scenery in the mountains by not putting dn1 or the a3 highway in the game...all the connections to Hungary are wrong and the average scale of the map is too small compared to it's neighbours. If only they have put as much attention to it as they did with Turkey which indeed is amazing...

Scandinavia - the best??? Are you effin serious? First of all, Italy dlc gives full Italy, same with France, Iberia and so on. Scandinavia dlc gives only 40% of Scandinavia. And the trees there look totally toyish. I was laughing when looking at some mountain because it was obviously flat and paper-like. This dlc only stands one step above Poland!
