Take it back a couple more years and you got Michael Beasley in 2008 and Hasheem Thabeet in 2009. Absolutely shocking that the 2nd overall pick could produce this many sub-par players in a 15 year period.
2008 to 2012 2nd overalls where disastrous, considering all number 1 picks were monsters. Missing out on perennial allstars by just 1 pick is terrible luck
James Wiseman is one of the weirder prospects because he was never really good, he just kind of got an excuse for his entire career because he’d been injured a good amount. Just weird to see a Top 2 pick have next to no basketball IQ
Yup. Solely a prospect based on athleticism. I remember in his limited time at Memphis, he had that one huge block off the glass and people lost their minds😂.
Anyone who is surprised about what JG is doing in recent games statistically wise either does not watch Rockets games or does not no ball at all. I expected him to have a setback in the beginning of this season because Ime would force him to learn how to defend. And all season long, even when his scoring wasn't there, he's been a plus defender. Now he's learned how to play both sides of the ball and still get his points. The fact that he has 2 rookies that haven't proven a thing ahead of his combined production is a joke. JG was better than Miller in his rookie season alone.
@@Time_Lapse_Master. we shall see. time will tell. he's taken large part of the season learning the new system and adjusting to his new role (off ball, more defense and equal opportunity offense). it's pretty obvious he's a rhythm player and needs to be initiating the offense to be effective. there are times he dont get to touch the ball at all and just standing in the corner watching Sengun doing his thing. As soon as Sengun went down, he's unleashed. btw, Thunder defense is no scrub and i dont see nobody doubles Chet and BI from the jump like what Mavs did to him.
@@pang0094 He's a great offensive player. However, the Rockets defense is 6 (!!!) points better (Per 100 possessions) with him on the bench, and this has been consistent the couple past seasons. He's also not a great passer -- an improved one, but he can't be relied on to be a consistent On-ball creator unless he improves further. He'll definitely be a good/great scorer in the long run, but he'll be stuck in Jamal Crawford/Cam Thomas talks until he becomes above-average in a category other than scoring
Nah, Williams is much better than Wiseman. At least he played some games. Wiseman gets DNP'ed in the worst team of all time(at that point, ya know 28 straight Ls). If that doesn't tell you how bad Wiseman is, I can't tell you much more 😂
@@Now_To_Infinityeasily could surpass lebron one day as well imo the way that kid plays with the ball if he can average 20+ next year hes on pace to be the number 1 sf in the leauge better than Jasyon tatum too
My criteria is sort of a re-draft, where the players are picked based on upside and how good I predict they will end up in their career. 1 Chet Holmgren 2 Ja Morant 3 Jalen Green 4 Brandon Ingram 5 Brandon Miller 6 D’Angelo Russell 7 Victor Oladipo (he’s better than dLo but only had 1.5 good seasons) 8 Lonzo Ball 9 Jabari Parker 10 Evan Turner 11 Marvin Bagley 12 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 13 James Wiseman 14 Derrick Williams
