in the second half of the season, Gradey is shooting over 40% from 3 and 62% at the rim, this is a guard who's primary skill was shooting coming out of college. he has also been a plus defender, he makes smart defensive plays, good reaches in the passing lanes, and moves pretty well. having him below Anthony Black is pretty interesting, considering Black has really not been in the offence much and Gradey has been scoring double digits on good efficiency
Given the right chance black will be good. People questioned his shot and he’s shooting 38% albeit on a small volume. He’s been a great defender and has limited mistakes in his game. He doesn’t turn the ball over a lot, he shoots good from the field, he’s a great on ball defender, and is shooting the three ball good. Black could be a great playmaker too however they often times play him out the offense and put him in the corner as a catch and shoot shooter but that’s not what he is
@@Da-yd1yl yes I know his game has been well this season, but what I’m saying is that I believe Gradey has shown more this season to make him be higher up on this list than Black. He’s improved his game in all aspects throughout the season
Yeah, he pulled that bad defence statement out of his ass. People see a skinny, white player and automatically assume "bad defender". He needs to get stronger but his effort and IQ on defence are really good. His Defensive BPM and defensive win shares are actually higher than his offensive + he passed defensive eye test. I swear this dude didn't watch Dick play at all and just made shit up based on narrative.
@@GoatFightshonestly he underperformed with as much talent Wembanyama has Spurs should of been 1st seed. Honestly Wemby is over hyped. I think Anthony Bennett was the better #1 overall pick
@@charles-oliviermarchand1835 I know that plays into the advanced numbers looking so bad but he was definitely a bottom 10% defender in the league. That is not abnormal for rookies at all though and unless it’s a center its usually not that concerning
Love how good Gradey Dick did as a raptors fan he shot over 40% in the second half defense not the best but he's showed that he could be a nice starter in the future for the Raptors.
i don’t think you watched the raptors (understandably) but gradey really stepped it up in the second half and his defense was not great but he has the hustle, but i wouldn’t go as far as saying abysmal
@Sros1 you should have mentioned his demotion & recall from the g league & improvements in the second half you just lumped his season together hey sure you watched the Raptors your comments seem too fast are you feeling ok?👍🏿
Nice vid. I think Amen looked special down the stretch when he got actual run. His defense was better than expected. Ausar's defense was amazing out of the gate, but he was also thought of as the better defender coming out. Both could be All Defense guys. Ausar needs the handle that Amen has to really propel his game forward.
I think this draft class has several players who could take a big leap in the next couple of years. Some seemed to take a bit to adjust but they show flashes. Although even as a fan of Anthony Black I was a little disappointed that he didn’t do better. Knew it would be rough with how many guards the Magic have. I think he has high potential like you said but bright future might be a little to high for him.
Kobe Bufkin is going to be a baller. He dealt with injuries but when he as on the court you could see it. Plays with amazing pace, great ball handler, great connective piece on offense and has a knack for making plays on the ball on defense.
Strange scale. Future all-star and exceeded expectations on the same scale… Scoot, on a scale that is judging your rookie season, didn’t even get close to expectations, but on the scale he is higher, and a future all-star. The scale doesn’t make sense… either rate them based entirely on their first season, or base it on how you view their future… pick a lane… or even better, make it 2 separate videos.
Miller has mvp potential bro he’s only going to get stronger as they years go on and his basketball is already ahead of what most thought it would be he can also play both sides of the ball and has potential to be an elite shooter
Why are you so high on Black? He was picked 6th and showed damn near next to nothing that to would make us think he's going to be anything but average in the league.
Bucks needed defense, effort, and overall dirty especially at the wing. And still just didn’t play Ajax lmao. That kids a stud and If bucks run him consistently he could be the fifth guy around the stars
I dont feel this is a tier list especially if you have guys like anthony black higher than gg jakcson. And also mentioning about potential. I thought tier lists is about how they olayed this season
Gradey should at least be in bright future. The man already looked like at minimum a solid rotation player in his rookie year. And guys like black don’t deserve to be above him. It almost seems like you only based black on potential even though some guys below him showed more than he did. It didn’t seem like the bright future tier was really judging a players rookie year as much as their future, which was the title of the video. Still a great video tho Matt
you cant put cason wallace, ausar thompson or anthony black in the same categorie with jaime jaquez, cam withmore, keyonte george or GG jackson, you cant put amen thompson over GG jackson
Dick’s defence is not that bad. Man you actually just don’t watch a lot of these players I swear. His Defensive BPM was better than his offensive. Factor in that he was playing most of his minutes with g leaguers
Chet broke the same records that wemby did in higher TS% and efficient as well. I think Wemby is a generational talent and will win roty but Chet had one the greatest rookie seasons of all time unfortunately he went up against wemby this year.
Watches first half of video: "How is GG not in the bright future category? Putting George and Wallace in a tier over him is wild." Sees second half: That's more like it. 😂
Ya this guy is just a skip bayless without the funding for the show. Didnt even talk about tristan vukcevic 1 bit. Only what the media wants to hear from this guy.
Your ranking is not consistent! Beeing an All Star strongly depends on your position and where you play. As an exemple, Chet is playing Center in OKC (west). This is the worst situation to become an all star. And in this situation, he need to be the best player of his team and/or your team should dominate it’s conference for 2-3 year in a raw. So except if OKC stay at one of the 3 first seed in the west for the next 3 years, he will never become an All Star. In an other hand, Miller can become an all star as soon as Charlotte gets over 50% win.
Ausar has gotta get out of Detroit if he's going to get anywhere near the potential you're projecting for him. That organization is a black hole of development. Only thing he'll develop there is bad habits and bad mentality.
Hard disagree with the Gradey ranking. Even tho the Raps were pretty much a G League team at the end of the season, he was getting consistent 15+ points against decent defense, hitting some pretty crazy shots. His got a solid cutting game and overall feel for the game, and that can sometimes be the hardest stuff to train into a player. Defense is much easier to train. Many exciting game winners in his future for sure, potential to be top 5 shooter in the league if everything comes together
Gradey should absolutely be in the bright future tier. I think in context to the Raptors roster situation Gradeys defence looked a lot worse than it actually is. Not saying he's above average on that end, but certainly far from the WORST guy, and there's tons of room for improvement
I think it’s well known how much bro hates on gradey 🤣 I thought gradey was solid tbh he’s going to be a top shooter in this league and I’m not even a raptors fan you can just see the potential
