The Lao one is underated heavily. Its the best out of the non-goofy ones. The face melt and spine rip is brutal, the fact the head didnt just pop in its jaws makes it so visceral. Top 5 for me

Given how realistic these animals look and how the engine with PS5 works with it and the transformations into animals, if they ever do injustice 3, they no longer have an excuse to not put beast boy in the game

I do like that most of these have some sort of tie-in to the character in some way. Peacemaker: Absolutely the type of guy to go full America-Fck-Yeah, also he has a pet eagle. Ashrah: A demon who has the visage of a purified angel, turning into a mythical creature known for being similar to an angel. Baraka: Typically seen with lots of spikes, like his teeth and arm blades. Plus, he still has those jagged teeth in his Animality! Cyrax: Has a very "drone-like" behavior to her fighting style, almost as if she's stinging where it hurts most. More likely the color is what made the connection. Raiden: Electricity, nuff said. Sub-Zero: An animal known for its affinity with ice, but also because Bi-Han typically charges in, weapons out, looking to fight brutally. Scorpion: ...it's not only his given name, but also his fighting style. Li Mei: A deadly force with a soft side, likely also of Chinese origin (or Outworld's equivalent). Kenshi: The leader of a pack (family of ex-Yakuza), and guided by ancestral instinct. Ermac: "We are many, you are one." Rain: Tends to puff up his own ego. Likely also a reference to an MK9 fatality. Sektor: She tends to charge into kombat without regard for personal safety. Noob: Fitting that it's with a creature that slips through the water as if it were shadow. Also, a reference to Make A Wish from MK9. Shang Tsung: He's a snake in human form with how much he lies and cons his way through life. Omni-Man: The Hail Mary is able to kill Viltrumites. Also props for making a reference back to Invincible. Geras: Big, strong, passive, but likely to kill you. Quan Chi: He's a necromancer, so of course he'd use a dead animal. Mileena: She's known for being a man-eater. Kitana: Fast, graceful, and deadly. Liu Kang: A fiery god who rose a new timeline from the ashes of the older one. Takeda: Tends to coil up opponents with tethers (like tentacles). General Shao: Big, strong, aggressive, and VERY WILLING to kill you if you even look at him funny. Tanya: Tends to use a weapon capable of reaching father than her limbs can, but also seems like she's of African descent. Sindel: Tends to wrap her opponents up and possibly lift them off the ground. Also due to her queenly status. Reiko: Always willing to charge into kombat headfirst, because he knows he can do harm first. Smoke: Supposedly a reference to "Gorillas in the Mist", as well as how King Kong tore a kaiju's jaw. Reptile: A plant known for having a terrifying bite (for bugs at least), since he's already half animal. Johnny Cage: As a Hollywood actor, he just HAD to get in a Jaws reference. Kung Lao: Prideful, but tends to be outclassed by someone barely above him. Nitara: Vampire symbolism. Havik: Chaotic and ravenous, always scheming to get his next fix. Homelander: A genetic freak, mashed with pride, patriotism, and a self-serving agenda.

So if I had to guess why the animals were chosen for each character Noob: No idea, but it makes for a great homage to his MK9 fatality Cyrax: It's yellow and flies around Sektor: No idea... A rhino horn is a lot like a missile? Ermac: The legion of souls turns into a swarm Kitana: It's blue, but also fast and elegant. Plus the wings look a lot like her fans Mileena: A creature that combines beauty and deadliness Tanya: The long neck is a lot like her staff, I guess? Rain: water Smoke: I have no clue. Smoke is silver and gorillas have silver backs? Scorpion: No idea. No clue why the character named Scorpion turns into a scorpion. The world will never know. Reptile: Because he already turns into a lizard, his animality is something else that is green and eats bugs. Sub-Zero: An animal associated with freezing temperatures Li Mei: It's because she's Chinese isn't it? Kenshi: An animal that hunts in packs for a guy who has a summon? Baraka: Guy covered in spines gets an animal covered in spines Geras: Big man needs big animal Omni-Man: He turns into Hail Mary, a monster from Invincible Peacemaker: The red white and blue American gets the symbol of America Takeda: His whips are a lot like tentacles Shang Tsung: He's always been compared to a snake/has a snake motif Shao: No idea. Big guy gets big animal? Sindel: Her hair resembles spider webs? Reiko: Violent guy gets an animal known for being very territorial Raiden: Electricity Liu Kang: He already turns into a dragon, so a phoenix fits, since it's also one of the 4 guardians of the world in Chinese mythology Johnny Cage: They couldn't resist a Jaws reference Kung Lao: Probably to match with Liu Kang's. Since the tiger is also one of the 4 guardians Ashrah: No idea other than sparkles Nitara: bat Havik: Guy mutilates his body as a form of combat gets a scavenger animal Quan Chi: The necomancer gets an animal that is only seen as bones in modern day Homelander: Probably the same deal as Peacemaker. I know absolutely zero about The Boys so this could be a reference to it that's lost on me.

I’m a bit dissappointed kung lao’s animality wasn’t a rabbit to reference his Shaolin monk rabbit fatalities. Cmon nrs give us the rabbit in the hat fatality already! Also out of the three returning character fatalities. Cyrax definitely has the weakest out of the three. Her first one is just a remake of frost mk 11 fatality and the other is one just sucks. They could’ve done more with cyrax with her fatalities. Noob saibot and sektors fatalities were great, especially the skeleton rip from noob saibot and sektor going into outer space

Top 5 Animalities in my opinion 1. Quan Chi- skeleton T-Rex and the body ends up going right through them cause he's a skeleton. 2. Peacemaker- The most american one ever. He finally gets a true team uo with Eagly 3. Omni-Man- Turns into the crazy kaiju thing that was in season 1 of the show. 4. Noob Saibot- They brought back one of the most brutal fatalities of all time as his animality. 5. Ermac- A swarm of locusts is perfect since Ermac gives off very The Mummy vibes.

No one noticed on Shang Tsung's that reptile's skin actually goes pale

I wish Shang Tsung's animality (king cobra snake) rather had nasty venom action (like Sindel's, really good one) than the weirdly chosen constriction, since cobras bite and inject venoms to kill. This one is somehow a bit disappointing to some extent because of this detail. Reptile's one was a very good call ! Carnivorous humanoid reptile morphing into a gigantic Venus Flytrap has my own preference, yet there are so many good ones ! I also love Scorpion's and SubZero's (their animalities are what *I* expected them to be), not to mention Ashra's Unicorn with all the related rainbow stuff which is reaaaaally good ! I can't rank all of them, only tell which one I like a lot or less. ^^'

the attention to detail with every animality is really well done like kenshis wolf being blind in eyes and a packmate being sento. Ermacs being a plague of locusts very biblical and fitting for the horde character and Peacemaker using his own buddy with him and being the most peacemaker style victory they did a great job with these here's hoping one of the other 3 unlockable characters of the pass has the penguin animality cheers for the vid^^

Kitana's animality Is a bit of a letdown. Her family is arthropods based. Her mother is a spider, her father a swarm of locusts and her sister a mantis. Why she's an hummingbird? A moth or a butterfly would have been better.

As much as I am 210% American, I have to give Johnny's the top spot. The setup of him putting on a costume instead of just transforming sells it.

It is sooooo cool to watch your video and see that you were actually having fun... even with the ones you did not like that much.... Instead of just complaining about how the animalities should have been...

For me they are all peak, but I love the look of both Johnny and Reptile’s animality. They feel like they reference both Little shop of Horrors and Jaws.

Shang tsungs fatality wouldve looked better if it wasnt on reptile cuz you cant really see reptiles decapitated head+spine spin around as he falls cuz it blends in witht eh blood and background

for me the 3 best were peacemaker(because is un - apologetic american), jhonny(because he is using movie magic)and reptaile (because is the only character that can turn into an animal on the main game)

I guess alien animals count. I haven't been more disappointed in Reptile's Animality since he turned into a monkey... Peacemaker's Animality is much better than Homelander's. Homelander turns into a freak eagle. Peacemaker has him AND Eagley double team his opponent. 2 eagles are better than a mutant eagle. 😁
