I'm completely blown away how good the Zombie walking animations were in Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance for it's time. They still creep me out nowadays.

Between BG2 and 3, I personally give the edge to 2. I prefer it's story and RTWP combat system better. I also think BG2 peaked the western D&D inspired "genre" when it came out. Like, while games like Witcher 3, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and BG3 are excellent and look amazing, they haven't done anything unique or innovative to push the genre forward. But I don't blame them either, I praise BG1 and 2 for doing it 2 decades earlier. But honestly, BG3 is so different from 1 and 2 that it's hard to rank them together. I would say BG3 belongs in a Dragon Age franchise ranking while Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 belong more in a Baldur's Gate ranking.

Funny that you talk about the Dark Alliance games as being like Diablo. When those games came out I got them because I wanted to play Diablo on my PS2 and this was as close as it got.

I recently found your channel, roughly 2-3 days ago, because I was interested in NFS series (esp. the old games, since I have a little bit outdated hardware). Anyway, I watched 20 or 30 your videos (most of the game series, a couple of reviews (for now) and the Sharkboy and Lava episode of Shark Scale (this one basically because of nostalgia)), I just can't stop enjoying your videos. And, It seemed to me at first, that you don't really play RPG, but apparently, I was wrong. And if you like RPG, have you played Fable? I would really like, if you'd review this legendary series too. And the last thing. I understand, that I just wrote the giant wall of text, but... have you ever played Sudeki? It's very unpopular old action RPG (2003), but for me it is the game that's just so dear to my heart, I just had to ask you..

It was this video I found because BG3 got me invested in this little slice of D&D, finding out (looking on the store) I could get BG1, 2, DA, and DA2, sent me on a search to find out about these games. You’re ranking was one of the top results. I watched the video out of interest, left a like (left this comment 🙂) but I looked at your impressive backlog, and knew there was entertainment value. Since you seem to be taking my recomendations really seriously, I am going to make one more. The god of war series (though I have to admit that may be better to wait until another gow is announced, at least for the views). That would cement your channel as one of my favorites.

I prefer the old Advanced DnD..yeah 5e is more polished but its got this digital art/superhero/100different races vibe...oldschool DnD vibe is just dope. I also prefer the old bg combat with pause..pure turn based is just soo slow. You have to watch a good long guide before getting into bg1 and 2 but if you put in some effort those are phenomenal.

Started baldurs gate 1 recently as the enhanced edition 1 and 2 plus a few dlc for £16 steal so far really wanted to play 3 but felt like playing from the first one, I’ve never played any dnd at all so no idea about any of the stats so everything is just completely new feels really rewarding to just find new shit out and really excited to just play them all after starting Editing after seeing his part on BG1 I’m playing it on ps4 and its been tough getting used to combat but not even knowing I could memorise scrolls and have them permanently learning that felt so rewarding and going forward being able to beat the thing I couldnt before but the combat is frustrating however I’m excited to see how it evolves I defo recommend playing the game as I’m on normal has been challenging to get the hang of and understanding the extent of what i can do with spells and potions but kinda blasting through stuff now though no problem

Balders gate 1 remind me with nox and nox is the most underrated game ever made it's a Masterpiece in my opinion

Good look at the series. Also for fans of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance series - devs actually continued their developments but they abandoned Forgotten Realms for Everquest and we got Champions of Norrath. I have issues with Enhanced Edition mostly because Beamdog started putting there content that, at least in first game, feels out of place. Characters that take way too much attention on themself, quests that written in different style - not particularly good decision, IMO. They don't feel as much out of place in Baldur's Gate 2 at least. But then there is Siege of Dragonspear that Beamdog wanted to be their vision of Baldur's Gate 3 and personally I find it being bad. Story is kinda iffy, some characters feel out of place, some social commentary is way too on the nose and just adds to kinda bad writing. In short - Siege of Dragonspear feels like a fanfiction at best. I cannot recommend it to anyone.

SO bg 3 is very fast paced, does not roll dices all the time, you hit every time you do anything, does not need deep character builds to work :D to me BG 3 is the most boring game of them all. Constant loading if you wana success even half of the stuff you do. Took 50h to even complete act 2

Baldur's Gate 3 has more balanced combat, but looks awful. Almost everything looks dull - grey, green or brown.

Dark Alliance just refers to the villains involved it doesn't actually connect to the baulders gate series whatsoever, very much just a cash grab on the name. Prolly the most disappointing modern game I've personally played I had such high hopes lol

It's 2e and 3.5e in Baldur's Gate 2. Good luck to anyone playing them, they're classics, highly recommended for historic and story aspects. I still would say give them a go, but, "but", a word of warning, you need to know, there actually be dragons, and they can be made into armor and gear for a hefty sum of coin in BG2, Dungeons and Boss can be deathtraps and Avoid Demi-Liches.

I tried Baldur's Gate 1 for the first time recently and couldn't really get into it, the combat just wasn't fun and there were a bit too many menus. I'll try 2

To even mention that BG3 is in the same leagues as BG2 is an insult. BG2 has always been considered as one of the best games of all time, BG3 is good for what it is, but there's such an emphasis on characters wanting to sex you up, its off putting.
