Couldn’t agree with that sentiment more. World 5 so far seems to be fulfilling a lot of those expectations so it could very well become my favorite game in the series

That’s a fair enough point. I just don’t feel like the console and mobile games which were made by a big studio have as much charm as the one made completely by brad himself, and the physics of the original fit the stages much better than the newer one. It’s a bit cheap to call another game better just because it contains another game in it, that’s like saying your favorite game is mario 3d all stars because it includes your favorite game in it. Overall the console and mobile release is just less polished and isn’t as fun to me

Yes, and it's one of the greatest platform fighter Flash games ever made. The game is called Newgrounds Rumble and it's a crossover game with Newgrounds characters such as Pico, Tankman, Salad Fingers, Hank, Alien Hominid, and other Newgrounds characters. The game is made by three people. "NegativeOne" is the Director, Programmer, and Main Background Artist. "Mindchamber" is the Main Artist such as ending art, portraits, and almost all of the character sprites. And Luis did two background art, two character sprites, two portraits, and Menu. A few people also helped in the project such as Evil-Dog composing the game music and other creators who own the IP of those characters to check if the characters are faithful to their series. It's a game made by people who love Newgrounds and I highly recommend playing the game. It's really good for a 2007 flash fighting game. Fancy Pants sprites are made by the same creator who made Fancy Pants. AND OH BOI LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS! Ok, it wasn't bad drama or bad blood but I feel so sorry for Brad Borne and the other people who were involved because a lot of content was considered for Newgrounds Rumble but most of it got scrapped due to time constraints. Ok so here is...I guess lore behind this: NegativeOne and Brad used to help each other with projects such as NegativeOne helping Brad with a game called "Stande: Battle Mode" and adding some art in Fancy Pants Adventure: World 2 (OH BOI I'LL GET TO WORLD 2 IN A MOMENT). Back in late 2005, NegativeOne wanted to make a fighting game with Newgrounds characters and the main inspiration was Smash Bros. So he contacted a few Newgrounds users to help him make sprites, art, etc for the game. Obviously, Luis and Mindchamber were there to help but NegativeOne also contacted other users such as PsychoGoldfish, Edmund McMillen (yes the guy who made Meat Boy and Blinding of Issac), and Brad Borne. Heck, the game was even promoted on NegativeOne website where he even shows Fancy Pants images (which are sadly lost media but a bunch of people was talking about them back in the day). The game was originally going to have 13-15 characters but it was cut down to 10 in the base game release. You might be asking yourself: Why were three characters cut? TIME LIMIT! Yes, NegativeOne added a due date for when character sprites must be finished and the three characters that were scrapped were Gill (PsychoGoldfish), Gish (Edmund McMillen), and Fancy Pants...eh more so on heavy hold since people were furious at NegativeOne for not letting Brad finish the sprites. Heck, even Brad was so upset about it, he added an easter egg in FANCY PANTS ADVENTURE WORLD 2 where Brad slipped in a fact about Fancy Pants was planned to be a fighter for Newgrounds Rumble but was cut due to time constraints. Now you might be wondering: How did Fancy Pants make it in Newgrounds Rumble them? You can thank the power of "begging, whining, spamming, and harassment." You see, when Fancy Pants was shown back on NegativeOne website, the interview where NegativeOne explained why Fancy Pants was cut, and Hank was added in an update for Newgrounds Rumble. This caused people to beg NegativeOne to let Brad finish the sprites for an update. And surprisingly, he did. But why? Well, it's quite simple, Fancy Pants was the most requested (and easiest) character to add similar to Hank. It took Brad a few months to finish the sprite but in 2008 he was finally added to Newgrounds Rumble as the last character...only for his stage to be cut as well... DANG IT NEGATIVEONE, I LOVE YOU MAN FOR CREATING NEWGROUNDS RUMBLE BUT STOP WITH THIS TIME CONSTRAINTS BULL SHRIMP. Ugh, ok last piece of info. Yes, a stage for Fancy Pants was going to be made by Brad but it got scrapped due to time constraints. I find this weird because NegativeOne did the stage background for Hank but I guess Brad wanted to do the stage and NegativeOne gave him a time limit for when the stage must be complete since he didn't want people to think if more updates for Rumble were coming. Fancy Pants stage was going to be the final update for Newgrounds Rumble but sadly it never happened. And that's the lore behind it all. Don't take this as NegativeOne being a bad director because he did a lot of good than bad. I can't think of another director that can be able to work on so much stuff such as programming, making background art for the game, and working on other projects. NegativeOne started the idea of Newgrounds Rumble and he made it a love letter to Newgrounds. He didn't say no to everything and he even added fan favorites such as Salad Fingers, Hank, and Fancy Pants in the game. It sucks that most of the content that was planned or considered will never happen but I think he feels bad about it since he considered making Rumble 2 but that also never happened. Also, shout out to add of the people who helped NegativeOne for making Newgrounds Rumble. Mindchamber, Luis, Evil-Dog, and of course Brad for helping with Fancy Pants sprites. Awesome to hear your take on the series! I can definitely see why some people wouldn’t put world 2 at #1, but I feel like the jump in quality from world 1 to world 2 was just a big step up from world 2 to 3, cuz even though world 3 had all those new features and levels it just felt less polished than world 2. But I can still totally see both sides since the levels and soundtrack in world 3 are amazing.

@@LukePlays17 yeah, that's a very good point as well, the quality leap between games. World 3 did cool things that World 2 didn't, but World 2 was substantially better than World 1, and it still had cool things that World 3 didn't. World 4's better moments were definitely the scattered challenge doors, but while they all tackled different things of your moveset, they were all run and jump obstacle courses, while W3 had trick challenges, time races, enemy gauntlets, less annoying fancy golf... Some of the challenges were actually quests you did for NPCs, like the Sand Castle Dudes and the Disco Pirates! I do admit that, in one spot or two, World 3 looks slightly unfinished. Mostly the area where you get the pencil, the blocks you destroy with these look... well, they're literally just line art, and I think the second one isn't even animated. Still, it's kind of a nothing issue, it's just weird. If I had to put down in few words what each of the four games is to me, hmm, let's see... World 1 - Classic, carefree, speedy fun World 2 - Sandboxy, jungle gym-esque, creative fun World 3 - Adventuring, varied, swashbuckling fun World 4 - Smooth, progressing, action-filled fun Either way, they're all fun, and that's what I love so much about this entire series.

The 3 games that are currently in progress have suffered many delays because of covid and other circumstances, so it could be a long time until one of them comes out, especially considering there’s multiple games in development

honestly not a bad idea to make into a RU-vid short or something. There’s not much public info on the game as of now though, only that it’s a metroidvania style game that’ll reuse sfpa’s engine but with more detailed levels
