Aside from my massive disagreement with Delthea, Luthier, and Jesse (both Delthea and Luthier deserve D-tier for personality alone, and I'll explain Jesse in a minute), this is a pretty good tier list. The fact that 70% of the whole cast made it into the upper tiers really shows that the voice acting really helped the game succeed. I also enjoy someone actually defend Clive. He's easily in my top 10 characters from Echoes. With regards to Jesse, his personality and flirtatious nature is pretty surface level, especially when his two supports are actually between Saber and Deen. Saber's is much more in-depth, while Deen's is really just Jesse trying to peel apart Deen's layers and failing to do so. In Saber's support, we eventually see the birth of the mercenary kingdom after Celica takes down Grieth, in which Jesse takes charge and becomes its ruler. Honestly a really good character if you go through his supports (limited though they may be). Easily an S-tier for me. If he started out as a Myrmidon instead of a high level mercenary I might have ranked him higher. He does have a slow start. But considering how powerful the dread fighter class is, he'll become one of the best. With regards to Delthea and Luthier, I have problems with their combat and personality. Combat-wise, Luthier comes in with Excalibur, which is pretty good, but his stats revolve around skill and attack, while the rest are mediocre, thus making him have Excalibur pretty much useless. Delthea is the Est character of Alm's route. On the one hand, this is the only priestess available through normal means on Alm's route (aside from Faye). On the other hand, Delthea comes at a LEVEL 1 MAGE at part 4. That is hideous. Beyond the problems with her bad movement and low skill pool (Aura is the best skill she has), she'll be killed easily and will contribute next to nothing on a grindless playthrough. Personality wise, Luthier is kind of an idiot. Despite his intellectual prowess, he has little of what might be described as "street smarts." He doesn't have any social skills that I would say are adequate. His only support is with Delthea, and there they kinda dropped the ball. Luthier attempts to persuade Delthea of the necessity of the battlefield being a dangerous place and not a play castle. However, instead of understanding where her brother comes from, Delthea just answers with quips like, "Yeah, cause you're just the model of friendship." Or "It's not my fault that everyone works twice as hard and only gets half as good as me." By the A-support, the only thing this relationship goes for is by getting Luthier to shower Delthea with praise so that way he'll get more praise. This leads to a problem in which Delthea, once again, gets everything she wants out of this relationship, whereas Luthier gets pretty much sidetracked on what he was trying to accomplish in the first place. If Delthea were an actual villain, she'd be top tier. I don't want this spoiled moron on my team.
I just don’t like Jesse as a person and I find him annoying to listen to. Delthea is a child and is supposed to be a very flawed character due to that and I find that interesting and she’s fun
Even though I’m been *SOMEWHAT* vocal about the things I dislike about this game, I must say the cast is downright amazing. Also Lukas should be above Celica ;) but otherwise good tier list
i made my tier list while listening to the video and i'm gone put my list at the end of my comment in case your curious but a few characters i want too talk about a few characters where i had something to say about them grey: he is easily my favorite in the game he's always been a top tier unit for me, he the funniest character in the game too me . his character is also really fun i'm a big fun of laid back characters like him and lastly his relationship with clair which i'm surprised you didn't mention or maybe i just didn't notice it while making the list but it's my second favorite couple in the game and very close to first but you can't beat celica x alm i'm afraid. i just like how grey first starts with his normal grey antics until clair stops him and makes it clear that she isn't some easy woman and after he got told of he decides to change his approach because he's serious about her and is willing to change for her it's just really sweet in my opinion. yuzu: i just wanted to thank you for giving her the love she deserves i wish more people knew about her and i hope she might get into heroes one day . python: i have to come up for my man he's more than just a meme he' s the goat. if i could choose 2 characters in this game to hang out with it would be him and grey. luthier: i'm in the 1% of people who love this guy he's so socially awkward and it's adorable i loved it in his support with delthea where he just prowdly tells her he made a friend in alm which is probably the easiest thing to do i really think he's underrated the man is gold. randal: i love gambler characters so he was a easy win for me and his relationship with emma is cute. forsyth: i personally love the dude he does his best to be a knight and be respected bay everybody and his slightly naive nature is really fun to me/ celica: i just wanted to say that i do like her i'm just not a mega fan like you but i do think she gets to much hate probably bay the same people who hate on eirika for 1 stupid decision she made like how dare they be humans and make mistakes. tobin: i have a soft spot for tobin it's cool to have the straight man there to play of the funny man that is grey and the normal dude too contrast the heroic alm and he does have some good lines in my opinion. kamui: i get why people don't like him but i appreciate the dude for having realistic reasons too fight some dudes need money i respect it and his support with leon was pretty fun. nomah: he's a meme in my friend group so i ranked him a bit higher. mila: i just wanted to mention that we had very different views on mila i always had the impression that mila was a bit of b word and i don't really know where that idea started i just always had that impression. mathilda: this one is a bit controversial but i just thought she was pretty boring but her relation with clive is pretty cute. conread: he is so boring i just never gave a damn about him i was really surprised with how high you placed him. grieth: i will fully admit that i don't remember anything about him so he might be high if i remind myself of who he was i just though he was some generic boss you fought. deen: i might have placed him a bit low but idk he was just kinda boring to me and i'm not a big fan of his super edgy character. jedah: i personally though he was boring i'm more a fan of slayde and desaix's brand of cartoony evile. lima: maybe i'm misremembering the story but isn't her the sole reason why veletnia was taken over? wasn't he a super shitty king who just cared for pleasure and couldn't care less about others ? again i might just be misremembering the story. Haha it’s a pretty good list! I think Conrad comes off as quite badass and I’m happy to see you defending celica lol. I did mention grey and clairs support a bit and also not sure why you got that impression of Mila ahaha
@@BenFM oh okay my bad i think i probably just missed the grey x clair section while doing my own list. as a Eirika fan i feel your pain so i had to defend her. the mila thing probably has something to do with her reminding me of other fictional gods plus some of her voice lines also sound like she's more annoyed with people but that's just how i interpret them.
The problem is that Celica had one stupid mistake which I consider okay because she cares for other people and wished to see the status quo return to Valentia. The difference in Erika's case (besides the fact that Celica is a much better combat unit) is that Eirika makes 4 big mistakes over the course of the game, and all of them centered around her personal macguffin. If she actually had two brain cells dedicated to working out a plan instead of, "So which prince should I marry by endgame, Lyon or Ephraim," then maybe she wouldn't fall into these traps.
@@ResurgentRaven i would argue that eirika is suppose to be naive and trusting. my memory is failing me ere but from what i remember there were two big mistakes her giving her macguffin to the evil priest guy in the start of the game and i would say that's her nativity speaking plus kinda being forced i mean yeah she could just attack him and it might have solved it but she is the type too look for a peaceful solution if possible so i don't think that would ever cross her mind so to her she could give the thing to the priest and have a chance that he might not attack them or not give it and hope she makes it in time to help them and yes it's stupid to think the priest dude would do what he said but she is naive so she would believe him. and the second is her giving it to lyon but that one is her holding out hope that her friend might still be there again it's naive but that's just how she is. i forgot the other two mistakes she made but it's probably again her being naive or too trusting or both. if you don't like those traits that's fair but i personally don't think she makes them because she wants to bone either of them she's just a very flawed character with flaws that admittedly are easy to hate.
The other two (one of which is before she learned of her bracelet) include when Colm steals her bracelet in Chapter 3 and she makes no efforts to get it back, provoking Seth to chase after Colm to retrieve it. The second is when Orson attempts to steal the bracelet from Eirika by pretending that it's dangerous for her to have it and should entrust it to himself or Seth. Seth once again steps in and prevents Orson from doing so, recognizing the obvious trap. It is here that Orson, despite being a twisted villain, gives one of the most agreeable quotes in the whole game. "If it hadn't been for Seth, I might have succeeded." This perfectly describes all 4 mistakes that Eirika makes. 1. Eirika loses the ring to Colm - Seth takes action. 2. Eirika gives up th ring to save civilians - Seth argues against it. 3. Eirika buys into Orson's ruse - Seth calls his bluff. 4. Eirika gives up the national treasure to save her friend, who destroys said treasure, and Seth is nowhere to be found. The first two times were excusable, the third was naive, and the fourth is what I consider stupidity. The problem with this is that I expected character development. If Eirika had actual character development over the course of these mistakes, I could give her some credit. But she doesn't. Her biggest change is finally killing Lyon's evil persona, but Ephraim literally has that same goal. The other issue is that even for other FE lords that I don't like, even they have development, or have proven that they don't fall into the same stupid traps set for them. Eliwood, Lyn, Lucina, and even Sharena are all characters who, while may be lacking in certain areas, can have a plan and see it through to the end. Eirika cannot do that.
I like a few of them, on the voice and design part I mean! Also, if Faye wasn't stalking Alm all time she would have been S tier to me, voice actor >>>

Catria a more memorable character than Clair? Never! (And next after Clair, I think of Genny.) Nice to see Faye being valued. Her A support with Alm - plus her A support with Silque - show her realising there is more to herself than just her infatuation with Alm. (Why do fans critise her so much for that, while accepting Clair's devotion to Clive?) Which means she has more character than Rinea, who is only a devoted foil for Berkut. Python ahead of Leon, please. Nuibaba should be up with Slayde, Jedah, Desaix and Rudolph, while Duma should be the one a tier lower. That "what was his name" moment with Deen, proves he should be down with Kamui. If not lower.
I definitely think Clair is a much stronger character in echoes, I am just quite a big catria fan. However since I made this I would move Clair up. I will say Faye and Clair are very different though because Faye is shown to be a bit self focused and crazy at times when Clair and Mathilda are doing out of care whilst being thoughtful.
But yeah I think Faye had great potential as a character, she needed more supports and more focus on parts of her that weren’t just being obsessed with Alm
@@BenFM But isn't Faye younger than Mathilda, or even Clair? A teenage groupie, crazy about Alm: not the same thing as being plain crazy. Without that, she wouldn't have joined the army at all. And an optional recruit, like Kliff, so getting less screen time in which to explore her character than Clair has (or Gray, Tobin, Lukas and Clive). The whole point of Echoes' limited number of supports per character is to make us think about who to keep next to whom, if we are to use the bonuses. One thing I'd change about Faye is her spell list as a cleric, making it more combat orientated to better match her C and B supports with Alm. Eg start with Nosferatu only, Seraphim early (lv 6), Recover only when promoted to saint, Physic much later (about when Tatiana gets Fortify) or not at all (in which case give her Silence, since nobody else on Alm's side has that).
Honestly would've put Faye in D tier personally. The strength in gameplay and great VA just serve to make me even more angry at how much they botched her as a character.
The tier list got me to start a new playthrough of SoV though lol, haven't played in a while and all the talk of the characters has got me nostalgic lol

Nice video. I'm happy to see Alm & Celica in S tier though i'm a little disapointed that you put Jedah in A tier. In my eyes, at least, Jedah will forevere be a F tier bc, despite having an amazing voice actor, all i see is a generic, bland and preditable villain in SoV and one of the worst villains in Fire Emblem.
@@BenFM i'm glad you agree. I also notice that what you said is one of the many reason why i HATED Jedah. If Jedah had a different design, had a tragic backstory and being a little bit more of a threat then maybe i would have like him.
