Howdy everyone and today we are ranking all of the Gears of Wars games! We are ranking all 7 of the games, let me know your favorites! #gears5 #gearsofwar #epicgames
What you have to remember is at the time, the best 3rd person shooters were the likes of SOCOM and Star Wars battlefront. Shoutout to kill switch, the game that inspired gears cover based shooting and freedom fighters. Great games in their own right, but you go from that style of 3rd person shooter to what gears brought to the table, that is a pretty sudden and drastic innovation in gaming
Also, if you go and watch any action hero Hollywood movies, 95% of their stories aren’t much better than gears, if some of them are even better at all. I’ve also always thought of the original gears as a graphical powerhouse. I’ve always been a big time gamer and at the time I know I wasn’t playing anything that looked even close to as good as gears. It looked good, it played good, and in my opinion it has the best story any shooter franchise has ever come up with
I’m a huge gow 2006 fan, when it came out it was next gen. Loved the gore like the pistol for example just ripped through locust, loved the corpser mission even tho it was easy, it was so memorable, loved the Theron guards to, and Ram was badass with the kryll over him, gear of war original was just so dark and creepy, best gears for story in my opinion
Im justplaying Gears of War 1 Ultimate version first time. Its too repetative, all enemies are same and missions all the same. Dialogies are shit. Best are GOW 3 and Gears 5
@@susanna8612bro gow 3 has the worst dialogue of any game I have ever watched they just say corny jokes and who the hell is some Australian girl with a beanie who is 10x corny and plus why the lambents are boring as enemies and the whole thing is mostly day time. Also why the hell do they not have armor on the arms it looks dumb
My list: 1. Gears of War 3 2. Gears of War 2 3. Gears of War 4. Gears 5 5. Judgement 6. Tactics 7. Gears of War 4 I personally like judgement and its story, but there are issues And the reason i put 2 above the original is because the og is a bit too repetitive imo, but its still a great game. The Tyro Pillar sequence is amazing
I agree 100% with this, Judgement wasn't great, but I'd play it over tactics and gears 4. Gears 3 was a masterpiece, and Gears 2 was one of my fav (may be bias since it's the first game my wife and I played together)
maybe I look passed the campaign too much as it was just whatever but I truly believe it took gears 3 and made the multiplayer much more polished and smooth gameplay
Gears of War: Judgement was awesome. It was the only game to have Deathmatch. When you don’t have a team to play with, only relying on your skills was awesome. You didn’t have to repeatedly get beat by a team of guys that play together everyday. I wish every Gears game had this game type.
I'm gonna stick to GoW 1 2 and 3, not interrested in playing a bunch of colleges kids in 4, and definitively not interested in playing a babysitter in 5. They took a serie all about gritty war veteran and turned into a disney + tv show.
Play Gears 1 (Preferably the 2016 Remaster as it's just all and all the better version to play) then play Gears 2, and 3...after that the rest is sorta whatever...people in the comments all seem to agree on one thing here, the original trilogy is peak Gears.
For me, a game where the protagonists aren't built like tanks is not a real Gears of War. These newer games with teenagers and women in them are spinoffs at best.
@@Boone69they’re alright, never really had any heroic badass moments in the games, Alex from the comics was a pretty badass character tho, whereas Kait comes off whiny and annoying imo
2 1 3 5 Tactics Judgment 4 The only “bad” in this series is 4, even at that the beginning and ending are good. I think the story of judgment carried it, it was cool seeing the different “testimonies” of rhetorical characters Ive always wanted a gears game where half the games is during the pendulum wars then emergence day happens and you get to play the during the early days of the locust war. Thankfully I think we are getting that in the new game
Play the original trilogy every summer. Judgment, 4, and 5 every so often. 5s multi-player tho is awesome. Play that all the time. 3 will always be my favorite
@christianh1697 Um...you do know I've ranked them from worst to best, right? Worst at the top, best at the bottom. Meaning 1 through 3 are top tier. Not bottom tier.
Right? This dude really said Kate is a better character than JD. Gears 5 was an feminist agenda push into gears of war, hence why E Day got announced because the coalition would rather pander than write a good story
I loved judgment. Not as good as the original trilogy but it's definitely better than the newer gen games. 7. Gears tactics 6. Gears of War 4 5. Gears 5 4. Gears of War Judgment 3. Gears of War 1 2. Gears of War 2 1. Gears of War 3
Im gonna say it, this really based on your opinion. Some people will find something good about each game. All games are important to the general story line.
Sorry but i respectfully disagree with judgement being worse than 5, gears judgements story built upon the lore of the gears which real gears fans did at least respect that and they tried to replicate a modern take on the gears 1 style of pacing. Baird being the main character was not a bad option as this game showed the consequences of actions unlike gears 4 and 5 where characters can go rogue and do things (kait especially) without much punishments. Also yes the multiplayer of gears judgement i enjoyed more than 5 because 5 is riddled with bullshit hyperbouncing as the only real way to be gpod at that game while other gears games you can do well playing fast or methotical. Gears 4 multiplayer on competitve felt good to me but the campaign was is horrendous too. Gears 5 giving the choice to kill marcus's son was the epitome of what the fuck.
I thought Gears 4 was arguably better then 5 only because the MP was better from what people say but Gears 5 lacks impact I would say tactics is better then both 4 and 5
You might be the only person I've heard mention the open world in a positive way. The open world sections of Gears 5 are just boring with very little to do not to mention the dialoge between Del the doormat and the whiner Kait made it unbearable at times.
I'm recently replaying the trilogy and I have to say that Gears of War 1 has still great graphics, great artistic design, soundtrack and a fun gameplay (I'm having way more fun with this than with Gears 5) but falls short with everything else. The story is really bland, the dialogues either, the animation and the sound design are absolute garbage, and the enemies are way too repetitive. Gears of War 2 is an amazing evolution. Way better under every aspect. It really displays the difference in the budget and in the skills of the developing team.
Only thing I didn’t like was it felt like an ex machina at the end and also what are the odds the main characters dad is the guy who’s able to cure everything idk
Gears 4 is an easy 9/10 game. It has more enemy variety than the games before it, the new weapons are all fun to use, and the overall feeling of combat is smoother and feels better than previous games. It also has one of the best opening chapters of a game ever. Gears 3 was always the low point of the campaigns for me. Despite the multiplayer being absolutely amazing and the story wrapping up Dom and Marcus's journey beautifully, the enemy variety just became "everything is lambent now so everything blows up." That always felt so lazy to me and I feel like the combat in the campaign suffered from it as well. I would go from worst to best (strictly based on campaign only): Gears 3 Gears 1 Gears4 Gears 2
The first 3 are real gears games . 4 and 5 aren’t made by epic games and it’s clear from the drop in quality and inclusion of woke politics in especially in the 5th game. Even dropped the “of war” part to make it more PG. they need to let the series die before they run it further into the ground
I totally agree with you. 1. GOW3 - Best content ever. 2. GOW - Mainly for the horror-esqe atmosphere and challenge. 3. GOW2 - Good game overall. I would love to see it remastered. 4. Gears 5 - Another good game, but has a few bugs in Campaign and some characters feel very annoying. I liked the Hivebusters DLC though. 5. GOW4 - Forgettable, but still a little bit better than... 6. GOW Judgement - Lacks innovation in the franchise. I haven't played Gears: Tactics yet though.
The first 2 were the best. Love how slow paced the movement was and how bulky you felt. Gears 3 got rid of alot of detail the gore wasnt nearly as good and nevermind the retro being a starting weapon in mp that basically killed this game for me. It was still great but no way it was the best gears 4 had better mp than 3 i think.
Honestly, after the original trilogy of gears 1, 2 and 3. I don’t think I’ll bother with campaign. I just want the multiplayers game modes! I started playing Gears 4 campaign this year for the first time and felt sleepy after the cool intro, and when I started playing as the son. I don’t like the idea of shooting robots, but to each their own I guess. I honestly think imma stop playing the campaign and just play multi from here on! Cause that’s what I really enjoyed from the original trilogy after all.
If you have a problem with Gears 4 story then Gears 5 should make it look like Shakespeare. Gears 5’s story is fucking dogshit. On any list Gears 5 is at the bottom. On no planet is Gears 5 better than any game before it.
Personally 1. Gow 1 2.Gow 4 ( idk I really had fun coming back to gears after many years so I’m biased to this game) 3. Gow 3 4.Gow 2 5.Gow tactics 6.Gow 6 ( idk I just didn’t like it) 7. Gow judgement ( Lol the reason I tok that break from gears lol and the lack of games for a few years)
As far as the multiplayer goes, gears 3 is the best, and 5 is is the absolute worst. Dogshit game that only allows spawning with one weapon set up and renders the lancer mostly useless as it forces everyone to wall bounce and gnasher spam. Had to mourn the multiplayer because it's trash👎🏾
OK first off I'm primarily a campaign guy; aside from Gears 3, Judgement and a bit of Gears 2 I've never bothered with multiplayer or co-op. Also, because I always feel like I have to say this, I started playing Gears with the first game back in early 2009. So I don't want anyone coming at me with 'YoU'rE cLeArLy A nEW fAn LoL iDiOt'. Now that's outta the way, here's my ranking; 1. Gears 5. 2. Gears 4. 3. Tactics. 4. Gears 3. 5. Gears 2. 6. Gears 1/Ultimate Edition. 7. Judgement.
It is Gears of war 2 Gears of war Gears of war 3 Gears of war judgment Gears 4 (dogshit) Gears 5 (woke girlboss dogshit) Gears tactics (haven’t played n won’t)
Man, Gears of War is honestly the only game franchise that even its worst game is good. (Judgment compared to the other games is just mid in my opinion.)
