Hey MattI love how methodically you ranked everything. I think you could make a case for the Wyndham Earner Business being ranked a little higher from all the hotel status matching you can do with Caesars Diamond, Hard Rock Icon, Ocean Prime and others. That alone has gotten me a lot of free rooms, free meals and a couple of free cruise offers. I can see how you ranked it where do did though becuase it's not a direct feature of the card. But it does open those doors! Either way, great video! And I also liked your dumpster tier rankings haha.

Great list. I love how high you ranked the Hyatt personal card, though I know others won't be 😂. Each time I've used the free night it has been at properties of $300-$400+. So easy positive value.

JP, I'm redeeming 3 free nights (annual, $15k spend, brand explorer) at $370 each in Tokyo. So I agree that good value can be had. However, Matt, I would argue against S tier for a few reasons. It's not a great earner and it just gives me 1 point more than my Sapphire Reserve on paid stays. It doesn't give meaningful status, the free night credit is limited to category 4, by those metrics the IHG should also be S tier. Good video though... pretty much agree with every other ranking.

I don't have Wyndham Earner Business yet but I'm seriously considering it because of the Caesars status match. I heard you'll get free cruises and free nights at Atlantis among other things. Also, you can use Wyndham points for Vacasa Vacation Rentals and get very good value because of the awards structure. It sounds like S tier to me even if you don't like Wyndham hotels.

Fun video Matt! I agree with your rankings for the most part. For me, I actually value the Bonvoy Brilliant over the Ritz Carlton since Platinum status and the elite night credits are pretty huge for me! I’d probably put the Wyndham Business in B tier or above depending on how you use it. And yes, the Bevy and Bountiful are trash 😅

I agree 1000%. As a long-time Marriot member, the difference between Gold and Platinum status is ginormous- hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year difference to anyone who would be staying at Ritz or Marriott properties. That alone, for me, puts the Brillant over the Ritz, even with the difference in annual fee. I can make up that difference in annual fee in 3 quick Marriot hotel stays or two Ritz stays a year. Also, does the Ritz Carlton have something equivalent to the Amex Offers? I have had the Brillant for 3 1/2 years and I see on my account that I have earned $989 in Amex Offers using the Amex Brilliant. Brilliant should be up there in S Tier in my respectful, humble opinion.

@@MattWelterOfficialWyndham business earner can get you a lot of free cruises. It can be S tier if you know how to leverage that.. on its own I'd say it's B tier but 7x gas if you book vacasa rentals is very lucrative too.

Hey Alex- no worries! You can sign-up for both the No Fee Hilton Honors Card & $150 Hilton Surpass for example at pretty much any point. Even a couple days apart in some cases. But obviously, you want to consciously do that to where you'll have confidence in being able to hit the spend requirements for the welcome bonuses.

I disagree with your IHG assessment. The fact that it is a business card makes it much better than the personal card because it doesn't show up on your personal credit. Therefor making it easier on your 5/24 and personal lines of credit.

I would also honestly place Choice Privileges Select at C or maybe even the B tier depending on your redemptions. The annual point rewards is excellent for a free night and with Choice adding Ascend and Radisson to its collection makes it so much more attractive overseas. Stayed at a luxury hotel in Venice for pennies in points redemption as opposed to Hilton or Marriott. Choice has also relentlessly been trying to acquire and buy out Wyndham, they know what their identity is and they're going all in on it.

Good Stuff Matt! For me, the Aspire is the only S Tier because even if there are other Good Hotel Cards, I can't compare them to the Aspire in any way, so I couldn't put them on the same Tier. I do agree that IHG Premier and Premier Business are not only underrated but are great cards. At this point, I'd put the Hilton Business over the Hilton Surpass because of the lower annual fee. I'm just not a fan of the quarterly Hotel credit on the Surpass. Maybe if it was $100 biannually, I might feel different

Totally fair point Sledge! The Aspire is definitely the best of the best when it comes to Hotel Credit Cards, and agreed in the sense that the IHG Cards are super underrated. Unless I somehow missed it, I'm surprised you didn't mention the most op benefit of the Ritz-Carlton card which is the full priority pass with restaurant and spa access in addition to unlimited free authorized users!!! This is pretty clutch for people who have larger families and or want to "gift" priority pass to a close friend or family member.

I agree with you on some but I definitely disagree with you on Wyndham earner business card . Good categories , status match with Caesar hotel where you can get no resort fee on Vegas and other cities like athletic city … that’s atleast a B or A , but again it depends on who is rating it and what benefit you are getting out of it !

Great question John! Typically I recommend to wait 3-4 months in between CC applications, however Amex has been really strict recently so you definitely want to watch out for pop up jail to make sure you secure the super strong bonuses.

I’m a hotel free agent, so I have no loyalty to or high level status with any particular hotel brand. Because of this, I’d choose the Ritz Carlton card. I just got approved for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, so I’ve started the clock on being able to upgrade to Ritz Carlton after the first year.

Good Ranking overall. I would have ranked the Wyndham Business in B tier on 8x on Gas, and the ability to get Caesars Diamond Rewards in Las Vegas which gives you a 100 dinner credit which pays for annual fee alone. The other card would have been the IHG business being that its the same as personal which you ranked an A tier, but Business has a FNC which the regular version does not

@@TheAlex808 If you like breakfast at Hilton, Platinum gives you gold status and you have that. If that's enough for you, then no. I know people try so hard to get gold status by organic stay (they don't even know about Amex Platinum) so it's good status. But not so much room upgrades. At least in my experience. To me, the sole purpose is to get the free night award. That alone, I will pay $550. I consistently get $1000 or more out of that alone. so all the other benefits that Aspire gives, are like the cherry on top. But be careful and make sure you know all the locations of Conrad, Waldorf, and LXR locations in the US and the world. Especially where you think you can go with ease. After all, they do have a very limited footprint in US and you definitely don't want to force a trip just to use that FNA. But if you can make sense of it, there is a reason why Hilton Asipre is the best Hotel credit card (by all credit card youtubers and me!) Oh forgot to mention, I know overseas they do this more often but I still feel like they treat me better even in US hotels when they see I'm Diamond status. Never failed to get upgrades and received so many benefits, especially in mid-tier hotels like Curio....etc Get it. You won't regret it. I'm working on getting the 3rd one!

I thought you were about to say that you weren’t going to mention the Hyatt cards 😂😂😂 Idk, I feel like the Ritz Carlton card should get me a free night at the Royal towers at Atlantis Bahamas, 85k points ain’t gonna cut it. I think I’d put the personal WOH card in tier A or B tbh. I don’t think it’s in the same plying field as those other two cards. Other than that, I think you showed me that I’ll be good with Hilton cards first, then Hyatt, then Marriott. The rest….I can live without 😂. Great video Matt!

I’m trying to figure out why the Ritz Carlton is so hyped up? I understand you get the 85K point night and $300 airline credit but they make those rewards hard to use by having to call to credit you. Is it worth the upgrade from the Marriott Bonvoy boundless which only has a $95 annual fee compared to $450?

Having the best version of Priority Pass and free authorized users are reasons why the Ritz Carlton card is hyped up. Their PP gets you unlimited guests, restaurants and non-lounge experiences, and unlimited access to Chase Sapphire Lounges. Plus, having the same comprehensive travel protections as the Chase Sapphire Reserve (including primary CDW) doesn’t hurt.

The 35k certificate on the Boundless is hard to use. It barely gets you a "decent" hotel. The 85k cert can be redeemed for many aspirational/ luxury hotels

I think the Ritz Carlton Card is super easy to get significant value to offset the $450 annual fee! Yes, it does take more work to actually utilize some of the benefits, but the 85K certificate could arguably already offset the annual fee, based on the fact that you can redeem them at some really high-end Marriott Properties, plus the Airline Credit & other travel benefits. You are completely wrong about the Wyndham Business Card and the Earners Plus. I would put the Business Card in the S tier with the Caesar’s Match and booking resorts and VACASA. I get more value out of that than Hyatt most of the time. And the Earners Plus is basically no AF with the Anniversary points and you get 4X on dining and groceries. Plus both have no FTF. Pairing both with a Venture X can be a Core Trifecta. Nice try rookie

You missed out on Wyndham big! Vacasa, even with the devaluation turbo charges the card, especially in Hawaii. You should do your homework on Wyndham and Choice, seems like you just brushed over these programs because you didn’t use the programs, cards or understand how to get value.

Another draw of the Wyndham Earner Business card is Diamond status. You can use that to match to Caesars Diamond. What we don’t know yet is whether it’s still possible to match from Caesars Diamond to MGM Gold since the Marriott-MGM merger.

Idk man. You’re essentially basing your S tier cards off the free night to offset the annual fee but why not look at how you earn points? The Hyatt earning stinks compared to IHG. Plus the welcome bonus on the Hyatt is way worse compared to the IHG. You have to essentially spend $18k within 6 months on the Hyatt just to get 60k points versus just spending $3k within 3 months to get 140k points with IHG….somebody please give me more reasons why he has the IHG in the A tier.

Now that’s a Tier List. Sub confirmed. After Hilton dropped a deuce with their revamps, the winners for me are the Chase Bonvoy cards. The Ritz card is busted, the Boundless is probably the strongest $95 keeper and there’s a $0 AF downgrade path. The Bountiful is just…there. They need to slap credits on it if they want me to spend for it. The Amex Bonvoy cards aren’t as strong because there’s no good downgrade path.

Thank you Elliott! Definitely agree that the Bonvoy Boundless is super underrated and a fantastic keeper card option. It's A-Tier for me but I actually considered adding it to the S Tier as well.

Same here. The Boundless eats its annual fee every year and it’s a good way to earn points without too much cost

I honestly don't see how the Hyatt credit card constantly gets such high praise. It can't really survive on its own and has to be subsidized by Chase UR points.

Hyatt Card Is definitely boring imo, but $95 AF can be subsidized by that up to Category 4 FNA 🤷

Yeah that's definitely a fair point. I personally love it because it has such an easy path to offset the fee with the value from the FNC. Thanks so much for watching!
