@@fivelonelyclones Do you know why Assualt on Hoth and the Ewok village are considered UCS and not MBS? they seem like a very similar concept and until I looked it up I thought they were both MBS
Well it's not just about the minfigs, it's the comments that were made about it by the designers. Like "all anyone remembers is a yellow clone." Anyway, it is a great build though.
@@Samfan4Films777a set should not be determined by outside factors imo, yeah the designers said some bloody stupid stuff but it doesn’t affect the model itself
@@scientistmyselfi would wager that most people buy UCS sets not because theyre lego but because they are good display pieces. Studs objectively dont look as good on display as tiles and thats the point of these sets. Theres a reason they have started selling so much better since they started tiling and its not all lego youtubers.
@@Infernos94 dude there’s many star wars ship models that aren’t lego. If you buy a Lego model you are buying a Lego model. It really isn’t deeper than that. You don’t want legos in your model? Don’t buy a lego model.
I love the Landspeeder, it looks awesome IMO and it has amazing details. Always thought it looked so sleek on screen and sounds so cool. But to each their own
The landspeeder is gross, and it getting a ucs version goes to show how biased lego is towards the original trilogy. The landspeeder is a lego travesty.
Hot take: We need more building/battle type of sets. Like the battle of scarif/takodana/saleucami, all pretty good sets and lego doesnt really make many sets like this
The 75252 Star Destroyer is amazing to look at. But what's definitly annoying about the set is the fact that you can see coloured bricks through the body everywhere. If you tweak it like i did and replace the coloured bricks with light bluge grey bricks, it's definitely the best looking Set out there🎉
The B-Wing is my favorite Star Wars ship. And like you said, it definitely does not get a lot of love. I'm just glad they made a UCS set before all these new shows started to happen and introduced newer, "better" ships... 👍
You're just not being objective *at all* as far as the landspeeder is concerned. It's objectively a more accurate build than a lot of the sets you ranked higher than it, uses some great building techniques, includes the best C-3PO minifigure to date, and isn't super expensive either. It's a way better set than a lot of the sets you ranked higher than it.
ATAT is easily number one, i mean come on, execution, accuracy, details, minifiscale, full interior, posability, it is just perfect ! Falcon is obviously number two ! Imperial Star destroyer is number three, and Venator is number four. Fifth spot would go to the Imperial Shuttle, the new Xwing in 6th spot. Slave one would go in 7th place and B wing right after it. Landspeeder would be 9th and Obi-Wan starfighter would take the 10 th place.
the lambda holds up to its name, its lambda, a whatever looking ship to me. It surely is iconic but i dont know why would anyone display a flying angry windmill instead of many better looking ucs sets
I was kinda checked out after putting landspeeder that low and the top 10 order is brave/interesting. Quality vid though and can’t really argue opinions haha.
Pretty good list but the Venator is better than the ISD, just more detailed and especially with the colors nicer to display. Plus the exclusive Rex and Yularen beat 2 unnamed officer by a long mile
Disagree. The ISD is iconic, most people couldn't even tell you what the Venator is from. Your point about the mini figs is true for many, but I don't really care about figs.
@@broncojuan It's not just the red stripe, or the color, in general it is more detailed with better textures. The ISD is mostly just covered in bland studs
The landspeeder is a good UCS set and I will die on this hill. It wouldn’t be so hated if the play set wasn’t remade so many times. It’s an iconic vehicle and a very well done UCS I don’t regret buying it one bit
You should rank all Star Wars D2C sets they have ever made UCS + MBS + 2021 R2D2 + 2023 chewie + the death stars, 10123 cloud city, 10131 tie fighter collection, 10144 sandcrawler, 10178 motorised walking AT-AT, 10195 republic dropship with AT-OT, 10198 Tantive IV, 75244 Tantive IV
Out of all my sets on display, the one that strikes the eye is the ISD, the massive silhouette just punches me in the face every time I come home, the rest of my sets go unnoticed in comparison
I HATE the oversized minifigure scale UCS sets because theyre perfectly fine for about $80 and are completely good for scale. Some recent Examples are the 2022 Landspeeder and 2023 X Wing. They take up great spots that could be used for other actually good builds. Y-Wing gets a pass though because theyre cool.
They can only make SOME UCS sets minifigure scale. For example, the UCS x-wing. If that would be minifigure scale it would be the same size of a play scale set. Some sets they have to increase the size above minifigure scale for it to be UCS worthy. But I agree, they need to make some UCS sets minifigure scale like the UCS gunship
That’s why I think ones like the razercrest, AT-AT, and slave one are the bests ones, cause they look great, but also have full interiors, unlike others
In my person hot take opinion, the Lambda shuttle is overrated, yes it’s a beautiful minifig scale set, but compared to the other minifig UCS sets, like The Slave 1 and the Falcon, it’s just a giant white blob. But overall great Video and rankings
Would but the landspeeder a lot higher. It was a geat build and looks very accurate. I think i would switch it with the 2023 xwing., which looks ok, but is very weak and is not as fun to build as the 2013 xwing even though it looks better.
Just subscribed to your channel. ❤ I recently discovered your vids, and I’m impressed by the quality, your voice, and general presentation. You have a new fan. I don’t necessary agree with all of your rankings, but that’s fine. It’s nice to see an updated UCS ranking video.
To me the ucs falcon is number 1 its detail is unmatched as a ucs set. The sheer amount of greebling and detail make it rank highest for me. I would rank imperial shuttle number 2 being super accurate and sleek. The razorcrest i would also have in the top 5. The venator looks great and i do love the isd. The isd got way too much hate for its figures and price. But the isd is massive, its the largest ucs starwars set ever by volume. Its a good value for its size. The AT-AT is the greatest ucs set as far as interior accuracy. But the exterior is off and its legs are too bulky. But it would be hard to make it otherwise. I would rank the last snow speeder higher, its a very great looking ucs set also. The y wing is also amazing. Lukes landspeeder to me is sleek and looks great but its true.its not the most exciting ucs set. The slave 1 looks great too. Honestly its hard to rank them. But i would rank the ucs falcon number 1 and ucs shuttle number 2. Then probably the slave 1 number 3. The isd number 4 and the AT-AT number 5 the venator number 6 the razor crest number 7 the y wing number 8 the snow speeder number 9 ucs A wing number 10. Although i like the death star 2, i think it looks too outdated and studded to be in the top 10. New ucs xwing would be in my top 15 along with ucs lukes landspeeder and ucs ssd and the ucs darth vaders tie fighter. I own the 2017 falcon, the AT-AT,the red five 2013 xwing, the slave 1,lukes landspeeder, 2019 ucs isd and the SSD, razorcrest so i only own 8 ucs sets so far. I would love to get the tie fighter, snow speeder and y wing. Wish they would do a vaders tie fighter remake and imperial shuttle remake.
I honestly don't get the hate the Assult on Hoth set gets. I mean yeah it's a UCS set but the Master Builder Series wasn't out yet. In the end it is just a name. The set itself is one of the best playsets lego has ever made. From playability to minifigs it was just incredible. I got the set when I still played with Lego and I never cared thag it was brandes as a UCS
Luke’s Land speeder is super underrated. One of my favorite build experiences of all the UCS sets I’ve done. That 2019 Yoda tho. By far the worst buildable character lol
I am torn on UCS sets, If they are the behemoth ships then I think they are awesome but if they are minifigure scale than I just think of them as expensive playsets. Like the Venerator and Star Destroyers heck yeah but the razor crest and x wing, I'd just get the playsets.
@@fivelonelyclones yessir, I just think they look silly next to a star destroyer because the scale is all wrong, just my opinion. (Romans 1:16 my friend)
The falcon,AT-AT, razorcrest, the slave 1 and the old falcon and imperial shuttle are the only minifig scale ucs sets. I don't really count the deathstar playset or the hoth playset as true ucs sets. Both should be master builder series like the cantina and the cloud city set. Although cantina to me could qualify more for ucs than the other two, being more accurate and close to scale.
I have mostly every one of these except the busts. Some I have two yet most of them are in the box. Don’t have enough time to get to them but didn’t know imperial shuttle went for that much. I am planning to open super star destroyer as my next build
Mfw I've been crushing on venator class destroyers my entire life and lego just released one for 600 bucks, but I'm still a student at university who doesn't earn more than 500 per month, with the set most likely retiring when I finally get a well paying job
Trust me don’t get venator it is a good set but it’s not worth it it just doesn’t have the same quality as the previous ucs even just the engines are terrible and slope I wish I didn’t get it
I genuinely cannot comprehend why anyone would pay 3000 dollars for the old millennium falcon when the new version is better in every way and a 1/3 of the price. Absolute morons throwing their money away
You forget that humanity really loves rarity. Throughout all of human history, we have always valued things that are rare, regardless of their objective usefulness. No, it doesn't make sense to me either, but the majority of people can at least appreciate rare stuff, and when some people get to a point where they can sort of afford anything, they start yearning for the things that are hard to obtain regardless of how much money they have.
My problem with the most mordern snow speeders is that they're white instead of grey, I think it would've been better being grey. Also I don't understand why people don't like studs showing? To me that is just the lego aesthetic and I think it looks cool with the studs. It is lego, it is going to look like lego no matter what imho so the studs don't really affect the look of it to me
I agree with this list except for the placement of the Slave I. I see why you put it up so high but I think the lack of an interior hurts it. I just think that the Razor Crest and AT-AT walked are way too perfect to be below the Slave I that doesn't have an interior.
@@witchii understandable. I wouldnt put any non prequel/OT set next to the other ones you put on your top 5, yet i agree with you on the stunning interior build
I appreciate that you do not like the Landspeeder, however, you did not take your bias out of the equation. Objectively, the Landspeeder is an excellent build, and probably ranks near the top in terms of accurate recreation. I think your real bias is simply that you do not like the vehicle, which, is, a bias. No other criticism exists that isn't true for other builds. Yes, it is technically the smallest vehicle in the UCS lineup, but not by much (ObiWan's Jedi Starfighter was not exactly a large ship), and many of the other ships are oversized. I do agree it is one of the more simple ones, but I certainly do not see how it is ranked below the busts.
@@fivelonelyclones Fair, I was unfairly assuming. Not sure I really understand why you think it doesn't work for UCS, as the A-wing is about the same, oversized scale. Is it just overly simplistic? Too far outside the standard flying ship theme? Genuinely curious. On a side note, I think the 2nd Millennium Falcon could have been higher, despite being a literal coffee table, and therefore hard to display, but you are spot on about the top 2... a coin toss on which destroyer is better.
I’d swap a few around for sure, mainly the ISD at #1. It’s top 5, maybe top 3, but it’s fragility has kept me from buying it, and would keep me from ranking it 1st. That and I think Luke’s Speeder would be top 15. But enjoyed the video, and sub’d!
Yes, the ISD is fragile, but it's as fragile as any other set on this list, and because it's a display set and not meant to be played with, it was never really a major problem
I get the sentiment with Luke’s landspeeder, I remember rolling my eyes when it was announced… but after actually seeing the build I was surprised how much I wanted it and how cool it looks. I know it’s an unusual scale for SW but it’s on par with large car builds like Ferrari etc
How would the falcons not look good on display?😳 And honestly how would it be easier to display the death star II than one of the falcons? Just does not make any sense…
Big Fan well done I’ve been subscribed for a while love your vids If you look at one of the rebels on assault on hoth it’s the captain Rex looking guy also from endor.
the lego death star is a good set, but it definitely deserved to be left out of the video. people praise that set so much, but it has the same problem that the ucs hoth set has, it's a playset labeled as a ucs set.
the new venetor has to be me second favourite or tied with my first (slave 1) i think the ucs slave 1 is my favourite purely because old boba and the slave one are some of my favourite characters/ships in star was but that new rex plus a awesome venetor is definitely second or even tied with the slave 1 for me
I dont understand why the original r2 d2 set is concidered ucs but the new version that has more pieces and better detailed isnt lol to me the buildable figures are ucs sets too. They come with a plaque, they are super detailed large models. Like they have yoda as a ucs set too but not the newer yoda set as one. To me grogu and yoda and the new r2 d2 are ucs sets. Along with bb8 and the other droids.
The original R2-D2, along with all sets before 2017, predate both MBS and Sculpture categories. In 2017, Lego split the UCS line into 3 categories: UCS, MBS, and Sculpture. This allowed them to focus the product lines for Display Vehicles/Buildings (UCS), High Minifig count Display "playsets" (MBS), and Character models (Sculpture). For all intents and purposes, the original R2-D2 is a Sculpture.
its a great and probably the best naboo starfighter PLAY set. It never deserved the mention UCS to me, it only gained it cuz it had exclusive chrome parts.
imo the venator isn’t even top 15, the awful stickers which don’t even have the same grey color as the bricks aswell as the absent interior is really bad. idek how you can like this set so much
I don't know why ucs sets even have minifigs they have no purpose I only buy the ucs ships myself currently building the venator I love that it's easier to display than the star destroyer
dude you need help you have every thing wrong 1# venator 2# original falcon 3# luke's speeder 4# 7191 x-wing 5# 10236 ewok village. if you knew a thing about lego or star wars you would have the same opinion. : (
@@fivelonelyclones You can make the same argument about the two death star playsets. Hoth, Ewok, and the death stars would all be released as MBS today. Which ones make the cut in your video is obviously up to you, great video!
