In regards to Kano, you know your acting of a video game character is iconic when the creators of the original game literally change their character’s origins to match your performance
Yea, apparently he was supposed to be Japanese american in the first game but didn't even see how he looked that way plus the guy who played in the game was just a normal white guy too, so even their own origin didn't match the character.
@@Dylansears3 well johnny was better because he fights goro he was going to fight shang but liu kang wants to fight him so really johnny is the star also johnny was funny and alot of people were sad about him dying in annihilation

I agree with this list except I thought Liu Kang carried both movies and should be S list. Christopher Lambert and Cary Tagawa are both goats. They did an awesome job with their roles. Sindel’s actress Musetta Vander did the best she could with the script. Hope she comes back as a DLC skin like some of the other mk movie characters.
I love the fight between Kitana and the goons because when I was in the movie theaters and Kitana pull out her fans all the guys stood up and clap and yelled. Like it was an experience seeing mk annihilation as a kid.
Jax's line: "If your father's an Elder God... What does that make Khan?" while the camera is too up in his face is a comically iconic moment to me. I'd add that to why I'd give him D.

Shao Kahn at the end of the first Mortal Kombat movie was terrifying and exactly how I envisioned him. The voice was perfect too! He should be added to this list.
You really gotta watch the second movie relatively recently to make this list lol. Second Jax was better than 1st. Liu was a boring character in the game but Robin Shou made him a star character of the franchise for the future storylines
Dude, seriously... Jax kicked both Cyrax and Motaro's ass (without his enhanced hands), was least bland character in a group and you just forgot all this... And at least Jade didn't died stupidly in her first fight like other minor characters. And there was more zaterans/Reptiles in awesome fight vs Raiden in MK2 movie.
@@reignzgamez1475 Yes, Jax was more like comic relief after Johnny's death, that's totally fine for movies. Also don't forget that movie was released in 1997, before any actual MK lore and universe was established, so we can't judge who fits the character and who doesn't - they were one of the pioneers for both MK live action and videogames adaptations.

Lui Kang vs Reptile was such an awesome fight scene for what it was. The quick moves along with the groovy techno was pretty sick. Scorpion vs Johnny was also pretty cool cuz it had the fitting industrial track from Fear Factory, and of course, flaming skull breath Scorpion. I think the element that pushed MK1 to a more entertaining film than 2, was the cool soundtrack, and better acting of course. 😆
Seriously you can legit tell that MK:A was just riding on the MK franchise. MK if you bought it from Wish. They BARELY followed the lore. I get that movies sometime go off script, it was blatantly off script! Jade looked good, but they gave her the MK 11 Sindel treatment: bad guy for no reason. And what they did to Sheeva still irks me to this day. Made her look all bad ass, but dropped a cage on her. What? Oh and John Tobias was one of the scriptwriters. I'm still baffled by that. He co created the game and this was what he let fly? Sorry for the rant but MK:A sucks so badly.
I think reptile should of been S tier. Just because of how it started of with the Announcer saying Reptile. And the music that was in the fight was so hype 🦎
2nd Jax was actually great and Veronica Vaughn, Billy Madison's teacher aka the OG Sonya is by far an S teir. Goro was done amazingly well for the scale and look especially for its time. I'd argue an S teir. Liu Kangs character was all the best fight scenes. His real Martial arts skills made the entire movie so definitely an S as well, I mean you put Johnny as an S and Liu an A smh. I get you're biased as he's your favorite but damn dude..
Johnny should be A teir, kudos for challenging Goro himself and winning after costing him his $500 sunglasses, but by no means is he same level S tier as the rest

The action was paced out a little slower in the first movie so you did have time to explore character traits and esteem ! They did kind of nail Shang T Sung in the original and using a strong actor was a clever choice !
Speak for yourself the first mk movie was good. Sure Johnny and Shang is what made it really good but still. The combat,story wasnt fucked up and acting was decent.
If you watch the Sub zero scene closely enough in Annihilation, you can see that he isn't flying or anything, but sliding down a line of ice. Still, the way he slides down it is definitely strange, as nothing is holding his upper body up when he freezes Cyber Smoke.
@@kellymccann9540 Or maybe an Ice Slide, like Iceman from the X-Men, i can see Sub Zero doing that, after all he does have that ground based Ice Slide move and that would have been a great additional nod to the games.

I remember watching these movies in the theaters both jam packed. Mk1 i think i was 13 being dropped off, my first movie by myself, best movie day ever. Then Mk2 came out there was so much hype after the first one and then within minutes of the movie starting you could just here the almost booing some people were and disappointment in the theater and the as it went on with the rayden and Khan being brothers and cutting is hair and the awful animality cgi. it was still a good time cause i was young and was thrilled to see the characters on the big screen that i grew up playing on the games. I just hope the reboot movie does the same for me as the first one did I'm definitely seeing it in the theatres 6 feet apart or not.
He was the only GREAT ninja since sub and Scorpion were just okay and the others were trash, and Reptile had the potential of Scorpion how good his fight scenes were
I feel like for the movie The costumes and outfits need to be on point they should resemble something from Mortal Kombat deception Mortal Kombat 3 and especially Mortal Kombat 9. Mortal Kombat 11 version of the Mortal Kombat 3 costumes are nice I might add
